This atrocious letter has been sent to the FDA and signed by 29 attorneys general. It's so full of lies, distortions, propaganda, and references to junk science that it merits, IMHO, a serious and well-documented response.

SeniorBoy started a thread on the subject:

I wonder if CASAA would be interested in crafting a cogent and well-referenced response to be sent to the signatories of that letter, or provide guidelines for those who want to respond.

Thanks.

Yes, I think this particular letter requires an organized response. I am willing to help in any way that I can.

First media att'n that I've caught:

nytimes.
com/2014/08/09/business/29-states-seek-tighter-e-cigarette-regulations.html

What a :censored: heap of :censored::censored: that :censored: letter is.

Oh yeah, that article is about as biased as I would expect it to be...

I find it interesting that all these people, including the AG's in question, keep saying that they're so happy that the deeming regs bans sales to minors but that they need to do more... in what universe do these people live? Did any of them actually read the deeming regs, because they do a lot more than that! Most people here would be over the moon if all the deeming did was ban sales to minors! Cripe...

Titled "Why 29 AG's, 3 Health Charities, Most Tobacco Control Advocates, and 1 Government Agency Are Wrong Cynically Lie Through Their Teeth About E-Cigarettes."

(with proper corrections for actual numbers, and additions of any missed groups)

And then sent as a guest editorial to every major newspaper in the country.

Fixed that for ya'. :)

OT (sorry)

Question: There's a "Call to Action: FDA Comments Survey" up at CASAA (dated Aug 10, 2014). I can't find a thread for it in this forum (probably because I'm a noob). Anyone got a link?

There doesn't appear to be a thread here on that, but perhaps they just haven't posted it yet :)

It's already in the works. Probably will use the QC Roll Call email system.

And then to whichever House Committee does oversight for the FDA, seeing as it will go nowhere in the Senate. Attach a cover letter outright accusing FDA and CDC of malfeasance.

Why not just Send it to EVERY Federal House and Senate Member? As well a State Law Makers.

I'm Sick of Counter Punching Everything. I think we need to go on the Offense for a Change. And start Canvasing News Outlets and Policy Makers with some Balanced, Non-Biased Information.
