:nah:Ok so I emailed the TRUTH website through theoir link the folowing is there response:

The topic of electronic (or e-) cigarettes have been of increasing interest recently with consumers, especially smokers who are struggling to quit. These devices apparently contain no tobacco, mimic cigarettes and come in a variety of flavors. Most e-cigarettes claim to deliver nicotine; some do not. Several varieties of e-cigarettes are now on the market and some may be appealing to children and young adults.

Some people view these relatively new devices as a potentially "safe cigarette", or a possible smoking cessation aide. As an organization devoted to keeping young people from smoking and helping all smokers quit, the American Legacy Foundation supports research-proven products and techniques that can help smokers quit smoking - such as approved nicotine replacement products, and cessation counseling.

This is what I was thinking:

So what I undertand from your email is that the truth is not interested in saving or prolonging the lives of smokers through an alternate method that has been proven exponentially safer that tobacco but that the TRUTH also supports the theory of Quit or Die. I find this disheatening since the rate of recidivism for tobacco smoke if higher than that of heroine. I find this disheartening as we pass out condoms, never proven to be safe sex just safer, we pass out clean needles to addicts, never proven to be safe as they can also be shared. IMHO, banning the use of ecigs IMHO virtually condems a whole class of people to a class of 'non people'.

( I am soooo gonna get all my shipments seized....lol)

Well i wouldn't go as far as to condemn the ALF ( ha ALF) at this point. They can only back products that have been thoroughly tested and approved by the majority. Lets face it, the FDA has really thrown a rock in the gears here lately with their BS results.TRUTH is simply trying to avoid future embarrassment should ecigs prove unsafe in the end ( I dont think that will be the case however). Seriously though, how can they back a product that is completely unregulated? ( they just need a definitive answer)

Case Scenario: ALF approves the ecig - People trying to quit start using the ecig on the account of AFL approval - some fool buys some cheap e liquid from random chinese vendor - Fool Dies = AFL is discredited and loses much clout in its efforts, possibly sued.

Even though I disapprove of the FDA's involvement and slander, I do hope they approve the ecig etc so as we can all have a truly safe experience and one that I think the ALF would gladly endorse. The FDA is a necessary Evil in the case of Ecigs.

PS buy as much Ecig accessories as you can before - A. FDA destroys the world or - B. taxes the hell out of us.

I would certainly continue to dialog with them....too often the first response one gets is a "blow off" or stock answer - especially with large organizations. They cycle through so very many concerned emails, letters, faxes, etc., every day - the first round always get the stock answer.

Keep at them - give a rebuttal to their response, and if they continue to give you a stock answer, give them another one. Eventually, there'll be a human on the other end of the response that actually notices the length of your communication - that's when you've made a difference.

Are we forgetting that the American Legacy Foundation was only created because of the master settlement with the tobacco companies?

This non-profit was founded with Big Tobacco's money only because Big Tobacco's hand was forced.

I certainly would not trust this group's integrity. At the end of the day, this group is all about politics and I'm sure if you look through their "we're just trying to help people" facade you'll see that they really only care about the interests of BT.

LOL this may be true, however, if we sit and do nothing, we are taking the chance that nothing more will be done. Who wants to bet that even PM is now hard at work trying to come up with an ecig that is acceptable by the FDA with proper verbage? They already had a ....-ugly vaporizer they tried to squeak by. Personally I trust the Chinese more than PM, they are the ones who kept pushing cigs and hiding the cancer and nicotine addictive data.

I don' think that they have acted thus far because the ecig was probably thought to be a novelty item. Now that they see the acceptance I am sure that they smell the dollars to be made.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
