AW IMR 18650's are the way to go :D Friend brought me into and educated me about mech mods and what to do. I'm still amateur, but hey, I now know at least the basics :p and tbh, AW IMR 18650 batteries aren't that hard to find. Know that gmarket place and it's new website where a ton of local people buy their trend stuff from? They hold a ton of stuff, and when I say a ton of stuff, I mean it. Of course, doesn't mean you can buy liquids from there if you happen to find any. :D If it's okay to post a link to the site, I'll just post it up so people can know where they can get batteries :) I believe the guy selling the batteries mean it for general purposes(e.g flashlights and such that would use such batteries)

Only thing is AW's IMR 18650 only has 10A output. It's usually good enough for me and most people, until some idiot using that battery builds a 0.3 ohms coil..... Then **** happens.

Anyways super glad there are actually some people reading this; the more people we get up to par knowledge-wise, the stronger and safer as a community we get.

Aaaalso as much as batteries are important, I don't want this to get lost in the discussion: PLEASE have a multimeter or at least an ohm meter to check your resistance after each build. As long as you're rebuilding anything, being able to check for the resistance and possible shorts is possibly the single most important safety point.

K I needa stop being so naggy. I'm out.

I believe you mean Steven from FStopLights. He's a nice guy. Dealt with him a couple of times. His store is at jurong west, opposite Chinese garden MRT.

Another place you guys can get batteries will be black tactical at funan or bugis+. They only sell CGI batteries though. Safe enough if you're using insulated mods and 1ohm-ish builds. But I'll personally recommend AW IC protected batts. They are slightly more expensive than the red AW but the protection is well worth those dollars.

I am a noob on these and not electrical trained. But i dunno how this blog on battery by Badtitude will help:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/4848-9-battery-basics-mods-imr-protected.html
Seems like AW does have one with 24A output on 18650 form.

For myself i haven't venture into subohm coils as such i'm assuming i'm in safe zone using a Efest 18650 for my mech mod. So if i do wanna do 1ish ohm coil, it would not be safe to use a 18350 batt even if theoretically calculation pass the test? Cos form factor wise i would wanna get some 18350 for vaping in my car. Apologize if question and pointers are noobish in a way. Thanks inotfat :)

I think it should be fine for 1ohm builds.

If you're willing to do your homework, there are tonnes of battery info on the CPF forums(not our CPF). Those guys there got battery testers, scope, the works. I'm sure you can find lotsa of useful info there. Unfortunately, most of the reviews and test results are presented in raw data format so you gotta do a bit of calculation yourself.

There are numerous of youtube vids that show Li-on batts failing badly but so far I have not seen an IMR explode under extreme test condition. There's this dutch guy that shorted both ends of a panasonic 18650 IMR and an AW 18650 IMR. Both just fizzle into oblivion with intense heat. The wire he use to short the AW literally got welded together.

Rule of thumb in vaping: Always use the battery with the highest available C rating. Which usualy mean a 18650.

power(P) = current(I) x voltage(V)
and " With great power, comes great responsibility!''

And let me add to that,

Voltage (V) = Current (I) X Resistance (R)

This is a definite must know to figure out how much current you're drawing with your build. If you exceed the safe limits based of your battery, rebuild that fancy ... coil you made. It's better to make an ugly coil that's safe than to use a fancy build that can blow your face off.
And ever since I got an ohm meter, I never rebuilt once without it. Always have a reliable device when you rebuild. A multimeter is fine, but they tend to screw up on me. So I figured I'll use an ohm meter made for vapes.
