Very positive story. I left this comment:

E-cigarettes save lives. Since I switched from inhaling smoke to inhaling vaporized nicotine, my wheezing and coughing have disappeared. I've been smoke free over a year. It's disgraceful that the American Lung Association, American Heart Association, and American Cancer Society are working to ban these products.

Folks, we need to step up the pressure on these organizations. Most folks have no idea that these organizations will happily let smokers die because they are opposed to all reduced harm products. Let's name and shame these organizations in our comments on news stories. Get the word out.

We need the non-smokers who care about someone who smokes to join us in opposition to the policies of these organizations.

Well, hats off to Michigan. Actually the county I live in has just stated that they will not be enforcing the smoking ban in bars. The reason should have been that it's up to the owners and the customers but what they really were ticked off about was that the state didn't supply any extra funds for enforcment. (go figure) I get the feeling that if the State was willing to kick in enough they would go after e-cigs as well.

Thanks to ezmoose for posting this excellent article, and thanks to Elaine and Tina for posting excellent comments.

It would be helpful if more e-cigarette consumers would post similar comments to this all other news articles about e-cigarettes and tobacco harm reduction products/policies.

Doing so is an highly cost effective way of educating the public about the health benefits of e-cigarettes and for shaming FDA, ACS, ALA, AHA, CTFK and other e-cigarette prohibitionists.

I'm in! Great find, ezmoose!!
I've been smoke free for over a year using this technology! These devices must NEVER be banned forcing smokers back to killer tobacco cigarettes as the FDA, ACS, ALA, AHA, CTFK and other e-cigarette prohibitionists seem to think they are not a successful smoking alternative. THEY ARE WRONG!!

DUGG. What great exposure!

There was a thread about a week or so ago that spoke to the same concept. In other words, getting in touch with state Restaurant and Bar Associations and promoting e-cigs as a way to salvage some of the business lost to smoking bans.

I think they could be big advocates in these state ban attempts.

Maybe we should send them some of these:

Table Sign:

Door Decal:

Someone here was also showing off his idea for a charging stand for restaurants and bars to "rent" the batteries and buy the carts for the night - it was a great idea!

Nice find ezmoose. I agree with what everyone has posted - this is tremendous publicity. I also liked jiff's idea of someone getting this restaurant a cheaper(and probably better) e-cig model, $100.00 is too steep!! I also totally agree with 5cardstud that CASAA should send this establisment the door decal as well as Kristin's idea of the table placards - I really like those Kristin, it's the first I've seen them, where can I get some of those?

I mocked them up last night for that thread about decals in the CASAA forum. The top one is for tables/bars and the bottom one would be a clear door decal.

I'm looking in to how to format them for printing out on pre-made table tent cards for an inkjet or lazer printer.

I really think they could be a help in getting restaurants/bar to allow vaping, as they would be a clear message that people aren't using tobacco cigarettes. (Some places won't allow vaping because it could "cause confusion.")

Once CASAA gets more money, I'd love to see us able to provide these to the Bar & Restaurant Association!

Great creation Kristin!! And any costs related to printing, mail-out campaigns etc. I'M IN!! Let me know and I will donate! It is an excellent way of reaching, what I believe will prove to be a "willing ear" and you just cannot beat the Public Nature of such a project. The Restaurant and Bar Association would be huge to have on our side - we need to continue to look for other "public partners" in terms of at least verbal support.
