Anyone have any thoughts on the use of Ribbon Wire. Would love to get some feedback.

I wondered about that too. The main issue that I eventually arrived at is that if you run wire through your heating coils, you will probably create a short circuit! Lol!
Assuming the short circuit issue could be resolved, I am not sure how well the ribbon wire would wick the e-juice. Wicks work because liquids like to stick to the material, and the liquid always wants to move from a wetter area to a more dry area. As you fire your coils it drys out the top of the wick which results in a chain reaction of little stair climbers jumping to a less wet location.
So really for this to work, it has to be non-conductive, and e-liquid must be attracted to and like to "wet" the surface. I thought I did read somewhere about a vaporizer with metal wicks, ahh here you go. Putting a stainless steel wick on a Vivi Nova Tank - YouTube

im sorry but i believe dugz has really missed the mark here. I have been researching this thing that i found about called bakero wire. its a thing going on in the phillipino vaping community that i havnt seen elsewhere.. theres not much on the web about it but from the videos i found of people using bakero wire, theyre producing huge vapor! 
now my guess is that ribbon would cover more surface as well as give you lower ohms.. prime ingredients for huge clouds. i also found this link: Integrated Nonferrous Metals Company i most definitely think ribbon wire is a good idea... now i just gotta figgure out what this whole chart and all these numbers mean.
Haha I'm having the same issue with the sight, even though I'm stationed in Japan and can't call them, I did email them asking how much for 30 gauge and what's the lengths it comes in
so far there are a few people who have tried it and state they dont really see a difference in performance with the ribbon wire.
just about any high wattage - low resistance setup will make an atty rip the vapor. has very little to do with the actual shape of the wire.

Hey guys. I have tried the flat or ribbon wire and the normal kanthal. I would recommend to give it a try. Being a newbie to this so I'm guessing it has more surface area and so it heats up the juice more efficiently.
Bakero was just a name given to the wire this guy found. Try your luck and experiment. Might be worth it.

A lot of people I know use ribbon wire, and they love it!! I haven't bothered yet as I am enjoying my 28
Ribbon covers more of the mesh and the vapor is better....just tried it...its just hard to get enough wraps to get the ohms up to at least 1.2 1.3....
I went from 32 twisted to ribbon about 3 weeks ago. My thoughts - better vapor and flavor; TH about the same; just as easy, if not a little easier to wrap.
I'm using it on an Orion V2.1 and I had to squeeze 6 wraps on there to get up to 1 - 1.1 ohms. It covers almost the entire wick. So far, I've have excellent luck with it. I would definitely say give it a shot, I'm staying with the ribbon from now on. Just my thoughts...

I bought a couple of sizes and both type a and type d kanthal from ebay. will try them on my RBA and will give some results with details as to what watts or volts used/resistance/vp. Barely started vaping last month and now I just can't stop doing research on mechanical mods plan to build an all in one if possible

I like my builds with ribbon kanthal. Currently running three wraps over four strands of 3mm silica on an IGO-L. Just over 1ohm. Lovely moist, thick vapor on my mechanical mod.

I just found a USA site for the stuff here. 100 feet for $14.00. However, a friend of mine has some and he is going to give me some to try so I won't have 99.5' of something I didn't like!

I just bought 25 meters, I had tried some ribbon wire before and in my opinion does work wonderfully!
