I've finally made a couple of good setups. 1 ohm coils. Pushing the amp limit on my Provari's. The vapor and flavor is a whole new experience. I've noticed that the ribbon has not gunked up at all also. I ordered some thinner stuff to up the ohms though. Great stuff!
Wow, 1 ohm on a provari. That's good to know. I am ordering a provari soon and was wondering how low you could actually go.

0.8 ohms is the lowest we can go on a Provari. Very good stuff !

That's awesome. I was thinking, with the provari, I was going to have to add another wrap of ribbon wire on my aga-t2, but I'm glad that I can use it with the 4 wraps. I'm really loving it set up that way. The only thing that might be better would be to eventually try some ceramic wicks if the vendors ever get them back in stock.

I have the 0.8 x 0.1 mm ribbon. I did a 5 wrap and got 1.2 ohms. I'm using my DID atty. Nice big vapor and flavor. I hope the ribbon doesn't gunk up as fast as the round stuff. So far so good.

Mine gunk up with the sweeter juices after a few days of vaping them. I just remove the entire wick and coil intact, torch it until it glows, put it back on, and it's good as new.

I'm sort of new to SS mesh wicks, so I'm a bit confused, why would the diameter of the wick effect the resistance? Length and thickness of wire are the only things that effect resistance AFAIK.
Isn't the diameter of the wire the same as the thickness of the wire?
I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, just making sure.

Yeah wire diameter, gauge, thickness, all just different names for the same thing. But he was saying the diameter of the wick not the wire. Wait... maybe he just made a type and was referring to the diameter of the wire, not the wick. Hmm.

RBA's have different size wick holes, using different diameter wicks. A thinner wick requires less wire, while a thicker wick requires more wire with the same number of wraps. More wire means the resistance will be higher on a thicker wick with 4 wraps vs. 4 wraps on a thinner wick.

Ah, I get what you're saying. But that's still really just a matter of the length of the wire itself. The wick being a different diameter isn't actually changing coil resistance, the length of the wire is,

The diameter of the wick will determine the length of wire to make a coil with a specific number of wraps. I run 2 different size wicks. A skinny wick that measures 5/64th and a fat wick that measures out at 7/64th's. With the skinny wick, I have to add at least 1 more wrap to achieve the same resistance as I get from the fat wick.

I can't say I'm not sold on it yet, got some 0.6*0.1mm 2 months ago and liked it at first with a .8 ohm and a 1 ohm wrap. I like the 28awg just as well but always go back to the 30awg. I thought it was just me and 30+ years of smoking that was kickin my but so i gave a foot of it to much younger guy thats been vaping for awhile and he said he liked it first but wouldn't pay any more for it than the 28awg either.

Patiently awaiting the next craze :)
