Just got my Richman today! Beautiful little thing... looks great on my EA mod, and even looks good on my Galileo, but it's a little awkward on that one. :p

Quick question, though, as I've never owned an AGA-T/T2... on the middle tube (the thing that insulates the center post through the tank) one side is a bit longer than the other. The threads are identical, but one side is a bit more extended. Which side threads into the top and which on the bottom? Or doesn't it matter? I didn't realize when I took it apart for a cleaning, and now I'm unsure. How tightly should the whole thing be screwed together?

Just ordered mine with a sigelei #20 and a stomp.. Thanks to a suggestion from a guy in the chatroom about what to do with my $100. Can't wait for it to arrive

I ordered a sigelei #20 along with the rba a week ago today got it in Wednesday and I made a separate order as soon as the stomp was in stock on the site and just received that today. the sigelei #20 is my first mech mod and so far I'm impressed I tried out the stomp and the combo of everything is working wonderfully.
for some odd reason the pic ended up sideways.

What ohms you running? Usually don't need a kick/stomp with an RBA

I'm running 1.7 ohms I'm new to mechs and ss wick so this was my first successful build. I would like to lower my ohms but all I have on hand is 32 gauge a-1 kanthal I just ordered 28 and 30 gauge so I can get them lowered.

There's no shame in 1.7 ohms... on the EA M Tank I'm beta testing (set up with mesh), I normally run 1.5 ohms or so. I prefer to use 32 gauge, and I actually had trouble at first because my ohms were too low (but it does use a pretty skinny wick). Just reduce the wrap by one and you should be okay, at least until you get the 28 and 30.

By the way, congrats on your first mech! I started with a mech, and I doubt I'll ever see an electrical or variable voltage. I still do check on the stock for the Darwins, though...

But I'll agree with Low Budget. I own a Kick, and ever since I've become a devoted RBA kinda guy, it sits comfortably in it's little plastic box, longing for that carto tank it may never get again.

does anybody know why my vapor production is poor? I'm running a 1.7 ohm coil with a 2/3 wrap. the wick is a tight fit and from what I've read that's not good because possible shorts but I don't have any shorts or hot spots and the air hole is right in front of the wick. I think it's a good build but it's not performing and the only thing I can think of its the wick is too thick but it's wicking great. any help will be greatly appreciated I would really like to master ss wicks. thanks in advance.

Did you position the airhole directly in front of the wick?

I'm running about 1.6 ohms, and my vapor production is alright. I've always gotten better vapor production from silica wicks, but the flavor and hit of the mesh is what keeps me coming back. :) Perhaps I haven't mastered them yet either. I've been using near solid wicks, and it almost wicks too well.

Vapor production has always been kind of subjective... I've never been able to produce the really thick clouds I've seen on some reviews, but I'm a mostly PG guy, and have always been more than satisfied.

EDIT:

By the way... I noticed on the Richman that the extra post (for when using silica) is fitted into the hole, and not "part" of the base, so to say. I'm wondering if it could be removed for possibly using a U-wick, or with a bit of modding, a dual coil setup.

Got mine yesterday. Mine has a very minor "spot" on the finish, but I'm not griping really. No chips in the tank whatsoever. Larger screw are nice. I guess I just wish every RBA went with the spring and washer method. But that's jsut me and I WILL be buying another of these. I'd say the finish match to the Ice Matte Roller/Dingo is about 99%. Here are a couple photos in 18500 and 18350 modes.

I've never messed with silica, I just use mesh myself.

I've found that the Richman works well. It gets a bit hot up top. I always do a 1 ohm coil. I put on a teflon drip tip and it really tastes great and works well. But that's down to me and how I like it.

One thing I would like to see is an enlarged wick hole. I guess I could drill this out, but I won't. So I'd love to see this with a spring and a washer and a larger wick hole. I guess I'm asking for an AC9/Rsst function with the Richman form as my perfect RBA? I just think the washer and spring makes more sense. I'm not complaining. I'm just assuming you want some input. If you don't you can tell me to go F myself. :) . I'm still going to buy one more Richman though.
