I bought an EM RiVa Starter Kit with 2 1100 mAh batteries from Evcigarettes and started using it on 6/2. I alternated the 2 batteries, and don't think I ever let one go dead before putting it on the charger. Two weeks later, I got a 2nd starter kit (same thing but with the 3-click bats) and started alternating between all 4 bats. On 7/16, one of the original bats went dead. When I put it on the charger, the light is green, but it doesn't work.

I've been alternating a LR atty with a regular atty. I started out using carts, but switched to mainly cartos. I do a lot of dripping with a Delrin drip tip, either into the atty or into the carto.

I'd say I've been a medium heavy vaper with it.

I only screw the bat in until the light turns red -- I don't tighten it down.

Is a 6-week bat life normal under those conditions? I've read conflicting threads -- some say a RiVa bat lasts them 10 months. Another thread says they last hardly any time at all and actually have a design defect. Someone on that thread posted a fix for the 'design defect', which I didn't understand, so I posted a question there but no one has answered.

So now I come to you. What are your thoughts?

Quality control on e-cig components is not of the highest standard. Some parts are DOA; some (even from the same manufacturer) seem to last forever. Six weeks for a fat batt battery may be less than average, but it is not unusual. Hopefully your others will last longer.

In general, the Riva is a good product, although perhaps not quite as good as the more expensive Joye eGo (but even eGo batteries have been known to die within a few weeks). This is all part of the cost of vaping – still cheaper than those cancer sticks (unless you get carried away, as many of us do, buying the latest and greatest devices:oops:).

BTW, this is one of the arguments for mods, which really are housings for generic batteries. Those housings tend to last a good long time and the generic batteries are cheaper to replace than dedicated e-cig batteries.
