Sheesh. Already out of stock. Grrr....

They let me add one to my cart. Have you got the right page? The boxes are 60 sheets and the bags are 80 sheets. The page with the bags seems to be missing now... The page with the boxes says limit one per customer due to increased demand.

But the placement of the coil is critical* to getting the most out of these fine machines, and I don't know anyone better suited to discussing/teaching all the nuances of coil placement.

*So much so, that I suspect many of the folks that decided a REO wasn't for them simply fell victim to improper coil placement.

Big huge +1. Coil placement is absolutely everything. My first go at building my RM2 was done so it looked exactly like what Super-X showed me in a video... and it was perfect. I didn't even know until later the RM2 could perform poorly if I wasn't careful about where the coil was. I got in a hurry or got lazy or something and put my coil way too close to the posts / or way too far away from the air hole and it sucked all day until I re-did it when I got home. I went back to that video and just did what I did before -- made it look just like Super-X and then it was golden again ;)

I went to "Cosmetics Online" site that I think Super X noted. The kohgendocosmetics site will not ship pure cotton via USPS to Hawaii.

<https://www.kohgendocosmetics.com/shippingpolicy.asp>

Based on past experience, shipping via either Fed Ex or UPS to Hawaii will cost at least twice as much as that box of cotton, so I didn't even bother creating an account to find out the exact shipping charge. I'm pretty sure it is in the "ridiculous" range.

Eciggity wants $3 for 5 sheets, plus S&H. Can't blame them for trying to turn a profit, but I guess that's why there is a 1 box limit on pure cotton purchases at kohgendo's site.

Thanks anyway for the response! :)

I'll make do with organic cotton balls for the time being. I can't long for or miss what I haven't yet tried, right?

[Edit: Oops! I guess Super X WAS referring to the kohgendo site rather than the "cosmeticsonline" site. Sorry about that!]

80 sheet bags are all over ebay but are expensive. I think I saw $26 - Free Shipping to anywhere in the US for 80 sheet bags. ... But that isn't all that far off what kho gen doh wants on their website + shipping. 12 bucks for 60 plus 5 bucks shipping (I think... can't remember for sure). So, it's like paying 9 bucks for the extra 20 sheets, I guess.

Supe, a couple of things that might help people new to an RM2.

Because of the screw-on cap, I take note of where exactly the coil has to be placed in relation to the air hole, by checking if the coil should be offset from the squonk hole and by how much, or just sitting beside the squonk hole or whatever. Another way might be to mark the outside of the base with a felt tip pen directly below the air hole to mark where the center of the coil should be placed. I feel a lot of people who are new to RM2's overlook this simple but important step, and its difficult to move the coil sideways after the screws are tightened. Its sort of too late after the cap is screwed on and the coil and air hole don't align

Another point might be to show people how to file or sand the ridges off the bottom of the wire capture screws to prevent them slicing the wires. Every new atty I've bought gets this treatment, otherwise the ohms can drift high intermittently. Today I replaced a coil that drifted high just a little bit, enough to notice the change in vape, confirmed by the multimeter, I fitted a new coil and checked the screws, they had not been sanded smooth, I had missed doing them.

Checking the height of the coil - this is never shown in any vids by anyone that I've ever seen. It's a critical setting as you know. Usually I place the atty cap beside the atty base but resting on the lip of the base of the atty with the air hole directly facing the coil, and check that the coil is at the exact same height as the air hole. Another way is to measure the height of the air hole from the base of the cap and transfer the ruler to the atty base and measure the height of the center of the coil to get it right. 20 thousands of an inch to high or too low can make a difference.

These are really basic tips and so obvious to experienced vapers that it never really occurs to us to explain it in much detail. I have a lot of experience teaching apprentices in a technical hands-on field, which is what rebuilding atties is IMO, hence I came up with these suggestions. The fact that rebuilding is really not that simple a task, but you convince everyone it is, which gives them confidence, and you have shown them how to do it successfully, is a great strength of your vids and a great credit to you, you are a natural teacher. Hmmm a super natural teacher :)

Hey I have a little gift for you Super_X. Its a song I wrote, sang and played guitar on, we were a 3-piece band, called the "Metho Blasters", in the late 80's. The link will be good for 2 days then I'll take it down so grab a copy if you like it :)

Somewhere out there
www.youtube.com
Uploading video now. It's like 40 freaking minutes long though but I think that's what is needed to cover the entire process.

Yay - with my PC software I can shoot upload movies longer than 15 minutes and with my video camera I can shoot them long too. My iPhone no way.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments y'all. I tried to address them all :)

I know one thing, the resolution is MUCH better than my phone was and the focus is locked rather than bouncing in and out like the phone.

I just have one niggle - I'm used to working with the cam in front of me pointing at the subject - now it's on a tripod across from me and it's a little weird getting used to it :)
