14 gauge needle is the same outer diameter as a wooden toothpick. Just saying :) And toothpick is not conductive.

So, Russ, are you abandoning your microcoil ship? :)

I love micros, but believe that using a slightly larger bore is best if just beginning into RBAs. This 14 ga needle build is pretty small (much smaller than my 1st coils :) but not so small that it would be a challenge for anyone wanting to try RBAing or to improve in their current setup. A toothpick sounds like a great size mold, I just find easier to get a tight coil when there is a "stop" on one side to wrap against :)

I actually prefer this setup on my RM2 and a micro on my chalice. I think i am finding that the micro works best when the coil is centered on the hole and you relying less on wicking to keep it wet. :)

How are you guys getting a "fluffy" wick tail on either side of a coil? I've been using cotton for a week or so now, and I always end up kind of making a cotton "wedge" where I have an increasingly narrow piece of cotton that I make a point out of on one side, then pull it through by the twisted point once I get it through. I end up just stopping when I feel any resistance, then snipping the fat end at various lengths.

Am I doing something wrong?

Sang, I notice that my cotton wicks perform better when they are rolled dense rather than left fluffy. You still don't want much resistance when pulling thru the coil, but you want the cotton to be twisted such that it is nice and dense rather than fluffy and whispy. The vapor production ( and all other aspects of the vape ) are much better.

Wicked pissa as a gene! Commie's setup got the best of my dual coils! It's a 1.4 (I'd go 1.0 next time) unoxodized ss wrapped tight around a large paperclip. I left a pretty large space in the middle. 30g wire and pulsed on another mod. I laid the wick pretty much horizontal and it gets plenty wet sitting up off the bottom. The taste is good, vapor is good and seems to get 4/5 really good PPS (puffs per squonk) it's a cooler vape than I normally like but I'm quite enjoying it.

Very cool! I'll try to lay mine down on the bottom to compare tomorrow.

Been using a ss mesh (#500) wrapped around a large paper clip maybe 7-8 layers loose around the p. clip leg for the first layer then spinning the mesh like you would trying to put toilet paper back unto the roll while still on the t.p. holder, Wrapped 4x with 0.6 ribbon wire spaced with about 1/16" wide gaps. Used a torch lighter to heat about 4x and mounted with coil end near fill hole higher while other end touching the ceramic floor, resistance at 1.0 ohm on a RG. Flavor is exceptional, best I've ever tasted, vapor good but cool like inkdog. Vapes per squonk avgs about 5. Wanted more vapes so I rolled some cotton, one end barely touching coil where it touches the atty's floor, going round outside of post following outer edge of floor around to outside of post on other side but nut contacting the other end of the coil. Holy sheet, got 20 reg size vapes and flavor is still unchanged. I believe I can get better vapor production with 0.7 mm ribbon while maintaining the flavor, maybe vapes per squonk gonna suffer but nut noticeably. Believing the cotton roll acts like a juice reservoir and the minimal contact reduces the amount of any singed/burnt cotton affecting the vape. For me this setup is the best I've run across and will stick with it at least for the near future...hopefully the .7 ribbon gonna make it even better. :)

Awesome! I'm going to add the cotton tail and see how it does on my setup

I think its worth a try, takes but seconds to do and cotton is cheap :). Sometimes it takes a few totes to get her going good and be careful nut to obstruct airflow too much. Experimenting with that Peaches and Cream cotton yarn they sell at walmart now. Unraveled two threads and twist together....so far doing good. It holds its shape better than the cotton balls type of finger rolls :)

Finally!!! Yesterday I got my REO Grand with my Reomizer 2.0. This was my first build on it. 1.7 ohm 30ga ka, 9 wraps with cotton wick. I am getting plums of vapor. Not quite as much flavor compared to my cotton wick vivi nova but much much better vapor production. I'm still getting used to the airy draw. Squonking is a no-brainer with this rba which is really nice, especially since this is my first bottom feeder. You just cant flood it! Overall I am very pleased with this setup and look forward to trying many more builds.

Nice looking build bro! Looks like a micro coil. Hey, have you aligned your coil so it's pointing up when in the vaping position, then aligned the airhole in the cap so it's right in front of the coil? If not, I have posted how to do it in post 29 of the rebuild tutorial thread in the stickies. Talk about a game changer :).

Great job Brent.

WOW!!! That is some wicked looking coil bro. I can see the vapor production it would make and that you must go through a lot of juice :).

WTG!!! Amazing stuff.

Thanks! With 100% VG juice, the clouds this thing is producing are just ridiculous. I love it! You're right though, my "MPG" just fell through the floor, I fear. Probably not an economical move in terms of juice consumption.
