thanks Mike. how tough are they on atties? i've become a big fan of drip vaping with my Joye ego. i saw some references to folks using cartos. is that the move?

5V is certainly tough on Attys, and Cartos alike if you lean on the switch and push it hard like most people use 510s and Egos... this requires a shorter push of the button, for sure. But as long as you don't put an LR atty/Carto on there, it's fine. 5V is so different compared to your eGo which is a 3.2V device... 5V produces thicker, almost Gooey Vapor, GOBS of flavor... it's a whole different deal.

Try one at the January Party, I think you'll see what we're talking about.

nope... i haven't watched south park in many, many years. looking forward to trying the rocket out in January. i'm opening myself up with this, but... size does matter. LOL. the thing that i love about my ego is it fits easily in a shirt pocket. the rocket appears to be a mini mag plus 2 inches. me and my pocket are anxiously awaiting the "red rocket test launch".

the red rockets are almost twice as long as a ego/riva so I don't know if you want it in your shirt pocket :)

The Rocket might fit into one of the lower leg pockets in a pair of Carpenter's pants or you can make a holster for it. All current mods are a balance of voltage, mah and size. The more voltage and mah the bigger they get. For a tube mod regulated to 5v w/ ~800 mah it is about as small as it can get. Change it to a box mod and it becomes shorter but wider. Drop to 3.7v and it becomes about half the size. Wanna talk about big, think 18650's at 5v in a tube mod! Now there's a club! The flashlight mods I am working on will be a bit larger in diameter than the 18650's due to the tube I am using. I'm starting with the least expensive mod I thought I could find for a tube. Gotta wait for the bats to arrive before I can go any further and I really don't like depending on success for my first bat mod. We may have it up and running by the weekend, maybe not. I'm not expecting a looker, just something that functions for starters. Later, if we have the funds, time, interest and equipment we may make some lookers. Mikes Rockets are really attractive and fill the need for what they are, 5v tube mods w/ ~ 800 mah. Can't wait to put them into service! It may be hard to go back to the Riva's after using them a bit but we can not vape out side the smoking are here at work so the Riva HAVE TO DO at work for now.

i love the amount of time i get from my eGo and the size is perfect for a shirt pocket. doesn't mean that i won't try something 5v though... LOL

Paul, there's no need for you to change your PV at all!

You LIKE your eGo, you've been using it a long time, and it works for you. The MOD freaks, like myself, enjoy turning vaping into a hobby, just like some smokers have the hobby of experimenting with fine cigars and pipes... you don't have to feel pressured into joining the "in-crowd"!

Plus, at meets we'll get to point at you and giggle...

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been non-existent on the forums lately. Dealing with my fathers deteriorating health. I've gone back to smoking full time because my time has been extremely limited. I want to go back to vaping 80-100% of the time. Please keep me informed of the next meet. I will be available anytime in January. School is ending soon and that on top of all the rest has been severely stressful on me.

Plus my Bartleby switch got stuck on and it fried the mod so that really sent me over the edge back to analogs. Hope to meet with you guys soon and please, Zen, Rat, Heather or anybody else for that matter get a hold of me to let me know when the next meet will be. If need be pm me and I'll give you my cell. I won't spend much time on the forums again until around January so contact me by cell would be better. Thanks and talk to everyone soon!
