I think it's going to be a requirement for membership in the Upstate NY group. everyone must own at least one Red Rocket. We have a good start on it lol

WOW, I'm honored you feel that way... But nobody should be "required" to own a Red Rocket... we'll just make it a strong suggestion. (LOL)

I built the first one because I wanted a good, cheap 5V tube mod for myself, then I got carried away and developed it a bit further. With the new switching this thing is right up there with the best of them, and I somehow managed to make it harder to build... Go ME!

I think once I recover a bit and get back to work on the home renovations (and maybe finish them!) I'll set up a little build shop for mods. I need another spot for my R/C hobby anyway. Which reminds me...STILL nedd a friggin precision soldering iron...LOL

you know that i'm going to fall for this mod thing just because we had a nice chat before the first meeting... i'm interested in this for sure. did i give you my business card when we met? if so, call me so you can tell me about this thing before i beg you to make me one. if not, it's probably because i instinctively knew that you would invariably mess with my world... LOL. i just want to be sure that i want one first. Thanks Mr. Mike!!!!

Here is the photo of the beautiful mod. Al and I also got our names engraved on it (well Al got camino diablo engraved I had my name done) It cost us 55$ each plus as carrie already said we got 2 chargers and 8 batteries And Mike is gonna have it to us by this weekend!!!!!!! I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it.

Actually... you didn't... Al said he was going to have a guy at his shop laser engrave your names. Yours will just have the Zen Logo on them when you get them, and he's decided to handle the rest...

Well, hell... I just went through my eMail and didn't find it... then I searched Junk... it apparently gor sent to my Spam Foldar, so yeah, he eMailed me, and it's too late to fix the problem because they are in-bound from the engraver.

SOOOOO... hopefully Al can get it done at work, and if he can't, then I'll get it straightened out later.

The Red Rocket is a 5V device with a 510 connection. It takes two 14500 Protected batteries. The 3Amp regulator holds the output voltage to 5V right up to the point where the batteries hit their cut-off point, so the vape is solid the entire time you're using it.

The first units I made had a mechanical switch that required a fair amount of pressure, but I've scrapped that in favor of a low-current tactile switch that fires a mosfet that is built into the regulator IC. This is a much lighter touch and it fires perfectly every time you hit the switch.

I'm glad everybody that has tried it really likes it, but I don't make any specific claims beyond the fact that it's a great functioning, low priced 5V tube mod that is priced in the range of box mods, so it seems to be a pretty good value for most.
