Germans like things done correctly - this is why when you're standing waiting for a train in Germany, you can tell down to the last 15 seconds when it will arrive. In UK you can expect notifications of a train down to the last few minutes. In Japan I hear its down to the last few seconds. While in Czech Republic you can just expect the train to be late.
So, before I get busy with the review, you might think I'm being overly critical about these cartomizers, but really I'm just trying to be realistic. I won't fill in the gaps, tell you they're leaps ahead of anything out there, or how they can replace an atomizer.
In my days of smoking analogs, nearly every smoke I had performed in the same way. Reliability was outstanding, and in those days I never had to mod a smoke to get it to work. Well, hardly ever!
Since vaping (started 4 months ago), I've been on a quest to find the perfect way to vape, and I've tried just about every type of 510 atty/ carto out there. I'll continue to search until I find the perfect sweet spot, which I hope one day, the solution will be provided with newer forms of vaping technology.
The CE2V4 - IS NOT THAT SWEETSPOT, and here is why:
1. The most obvious reason these cartos are mediocre (at best) is because of the wicking issues. Sometimes they give the perfect hit, with a great TH, but then 2 minutes later all you get is hot air in your mouth. With these cartos, I constantly find myself asking "Am I doing it right" or "What secret do the rest of the ECF guys know that I don't" or "Maybe I've just been unlucky with a very bad batch".
The German in us demands to run strict quality control tests before releasing a product like this. If 5/100 people say its not working for them, the statistics are too high to be marketed as "The ultimate in vaping". No atty/carto deserves that title until 0% of at least 1000 people can test the device extensively over a month, and not find an issue. Strict heh? Bet your non german a@@ it is
2. Anyone who claims they don't leak is lying. They do leak, and here is why: They're not the type of cartos you can fill and then vape to the end. The JoyeTech Mega cartomizers in contrast can be vaped (almost) till the end. So with these cartos you need to keep them topped up (otherwise you'll get dry taste). You might think this defeats the point of cartos, and you would be right, but mainly a topped up carto can leak easily. Its like balancing on a ball, no good German would tolerate this
3. They don't work with some mods. I mean the connectors don't always fit. Don't blame your mod, these suckers are to blame. You can fit this most of the time by modding the carto, or by "modding your mod" (yeah great English)
4. They're syringe based. Not a huge deal breaker but, no vaper enjoys working with syringes. Nuff said.
I wouldn't call them the worst tech to hit the vaping scene, but they're not "The ultimate perfect sweet spot" some people refer to them as. RoyalSmokers themselves call them - "So Fabulous, the ultimate". It reminds me of "Me love you long time". If anything they're mediocre. So why the need for this post.
I'll tell you why - RoyalSmokers are now saying these cartos v4, are the final release for the series. I've noticed some clear ones coming out, but the tech and wick will be the same. So from RoyalSmokers point of view, they're the ultimate cartos and case closed. I guess they feel this way because they've had a lot of positive feedback from them, and not enough negative feedback.
As for me, I'm back to dripping on regular atomizers. Not the perfect solution, but I'm still waiting for the better solution to be invented. Nothing yet beats the trusty old Attie!
Fine print: They also can get super hot. I mean rocket fuel hot!!! Nothing like a bit of lava in the mouth with your morning tea!
Even if you keep them topped up, they still can give you a dry taste
People are modding them, if they're the perfect vape, why are so many people modding them.
