RTA ADVICE

Hello all,

Hope everyone is doing well. I have been using the griffin from geekvape for a while now. It has been great, the deck is fairly big to build on, although I am still learning the art of claptons. But now I want to buy another tank with at least the same deck size as the griffin and/or bigger if possible.

I was wondering if you guys/gals have any advice on which tank to buy? Also, I looked at some top 10 ones but they are priced at at over $100 for those tanks. Are their clones ok? The griffin was about $30, so I don't want to spend more than $40....

Truly appreciate any advice...Thank you everyone

The Boeas and Supreme are the top 2 on my list. I like the Supreme better cause it does not leak when filling like the Boreas does. The Boreas does have a bigger build deck, but leaks every time you fill it.
Save yourself the hassle fill it from the bottom absolutely no leaks

I've had the 4ml supreme for a while now, its leaked for me and without the JFC closed you shouldn't place the tank on its side. Here's my observation.

1. Make sure you have enough cotton to cover the juice holes and some more (but not so much that you are choking the wick).

2. I've tried vertical and horizontal builds, my vertical build has yet to leak but my vertical build also has more cotton

3. The JFC consists of several pieces (3 i believe with 2 small screws that don't have spares). Make sure these 3 pieces are as dry as possible to prevent leaking.

Its a nice RTA but b/c of how your coils sit right next to the side airflow holes (like the bellus), its going to be a "wetter" tank than say a griffin or gemini.

I love my Aromamizers and Griffins. I have a VCMT on order and a Boreas and am anxious to find out how those two compare. The Supreme is excellent!!

The VCMT is my current all time favorite tank. It's worth the effort to do some research and make sure your wicking it correctly, as it can be finicky. The rewards of doing so are a high power (200w+) capable tank that doesn't dry hit or leak.

My current favorite is the Aromamizer Supreme. I've not had it leak at all, very easy to build/wick, separate JFC and AFC, and knurling in all the right places. I also have the the Billow V3 Plus (which I like quite a bit), and Griffin 25 (which is giving me problems). If you look at the Griffin 25 thread (Geekvape Griffin 25MM!) it really seems like they need to step up their QC. Some are great while others leave a lot to be desired.

Cheers,
Steve

Wow, this is what I really love about this forum which you really don't get from other forums regardless of subject matter... Everyone gives such great advice and go out of their way to explain things.

Honestly I quit analogs several months ago but I know the road would've been much tougher had I not found the ECF family.

So far I'm getting suggestions mostly for the supreme and the boreas. If so many here seem to like those two, they must be pretty good.

Someone also asked if I had the 22 or 25 Griffin... I actually didn't even know there were two kinds...the one big complaint I had about the Griffin was the small juice capacity but looking at the 25, looks like they improved some.

Would going for the Griffin 25 be good bet? Otherwise I'll just read up on the supreme and boreas and get one of them.

Also do I have to worry about clones versus originals with the supreme and boreas or I'm I safe buying from a reputable ecig site?

Thanks a million everyone. As always you guys/gals are great!!!

What build do you do in your supreme? curious, I had it leak with horizontal build but not with vertical (unless its left on its side with JFC and AFC open).

I just have a simple dual horizontal SS430, 8 wrap, 3mm build (I'm using TC). The difference might be I basically overlapped the wicking on the deck (I didn't skimp on the KGD). I'm using 50/50 DIY juice and haven't had any dry hits or leaks.

Cheers,
Steve

I think the Griffin 25 only holds 4.5-5ml, and you suggested you wanted more capacity. If you are going with a 25mm tank the Boreas and Aromamizer Supreme hold 7+ml, and if you plan on doing bigger builds, that would be the way to go. The Boreas is $39 and the aromamizer supreme I believe is $49.

Win/win.

The Aromamizer Supreme is a very nice tank. I love mine and have shelved all others. People at work call me "puff daddy" because of the ridiculous clouds this tank chucks, with the right build. Also someone said it has 'screws' for the JFC and no spares, it has pins and they send you spares in the o-ring/screw baggie.

Hello all,

This is what I got from the specs page on a couple of sites for the Griffin 25:
specifications:

  • Tank Capacity:
  • 6.2mL (Standard Version)
  • 6.0mL (Top Airflow Version)
I could live with that. But based on everyone's posts here, I am really intrigued with the supreme and boreas... Damn it, I want all three...lol...

and maybe since I have a griffin, even though its the regular one, I will go with one of the other ones. In either case, these tanks seem to be night and day compared to when I first started vaping and I was buying premade coils, and my second one was the kangertech plus which I paid $32 for. WOW, once i got the griffin and made my own coils, the difference was insane...

I just gotta get better at building claptons, I keep getting hot spots once on the deck and can't seem to always work them out...

Thank you guy/gals...

Vcmt is a law in itself

It's big

It's bad

It's an amazing tank

However it's a pain in the assssss to carry round with you (30mm)

The tank capacity on the 25mm Griffin is a lie, from what I've read it's closer to 4.5 ml.

For the hot spots, try squeezing with some ceramic tweezers while firing.

I'll throw my vote towards the Boreas, thing has been flawless.
