Ruyan "Bling" Cigar Question

I just got my cigar today. I can't seem to get much vapor at all. No matter how hard I pull, a mouthful of vapor is all I get.

I don't think it's the device. I tried all 4 atomizers with the same result. I doubt I received 4 bum atomizers. The vapor I do get is cold. Is this normal for the first few days of use?

if you are using the stock cigar-flavor carts you will not get much vapor at all. that is just the way the stock cart juice is

the bling will really shine when you load thecart with your favorite liquid..or..you can remove the white stuffing housing...drip into the atomizer...5 drops max from dry...screw back on the mouthpiece...take 2 to 3 primer puffs..they vape as you normally would. key is warming up the atomizer

I second everything previous poster typed.

I'd also suggest either completely removing the tip or "sawing" off the narrow part of it.

That way you just drip directly into the atomiser without having to unscrew the tip each time you do so.

I appreciate the advice...These are finally starting to fire up. I'll try opening the tip. Hopefully that will improve the draw.

I have also found that on both disposables and blings if you use a finger to block one of the holes at the tip end the draw is a bit firmer but it also switches the unit on more positively. I found the carts weak as well and use e-cigs.co.uks "cigar" flavour, nice taste/smell, decent vapour. My goal is to eventually make up some new mouth pieces to bypass those platypus bills they fit on the blings now.

Got a new tip today. Don't drop it. I did and got the blinking green death light. Ok what the heck let's take it apart. Turns out the thread on the end of those mini mag style flashlights fits the ring the lens is screwed into. After you take off the ring it you can push everything out from the atomizer end. On mine, the atomizer had slipped and was kind of touching the air hole on the switch. I cleaned everything and put it back together and it works! I had noticed that at first all the cart wool would stick to the bridge but after a few carts it stopped. After that vapor was reduced. I'm guessing the wool wasn't touching the bridge well. The atomizer is only held in place by a silicon sleeve. Any good bump could make it shift......

just curious, but how does the Bling vapor production compare to the Ruyan disposable model? About the same?

Recently got my Bling, had some time to play around with it.

I thought it was defective at first, but apparently it can take 20 or so primer puffs to get this thing going, not all the time though.

The stock cartridges, at least for me, taste horrible, like vaping an old ash tray. So I use my own liquid.

I rinse out the stock cartridges, let them dry for a day, then load them up with my own liquid. I can put about 40ish drops in a cleaned out stock cartridge, they last quite awhile.

The Cigar flavor from Heaven Gifts seems to put out alot of vapor, perhaps the most vapor, could be my favorite so far. Very mild.

I've also tried the Cuba Cigar flavor, reminds me of coconut. Anyone else try Cuba Cigar from Heaven Gifts? I've never tried a real Cuban Cigar, so I can't really compare. Are Cuban Cigar flavors from other dealers about the same?

Flue cured tobacco (Heaven Gifts) is pretty good also, sweet caramel-ish taste, tastes good, thought it was my favorite, but I tend to over-dose on it after a few days.

Kent is good also, less sweet, still testing it though.

Really enjoying the Bling so far. I plan to buy a few more as back ups, but Heaven Gifts is out of stock on all of them at this time (8/2/09).

I've got a performance improvement on the "Bling" by using different batteries (I have had it since last year though). These work quite well (you need a spacer to charge them with the little charge Ruyan supply, a paperclip also does the job..) - DealExtreme: $4.23 Ultra Fire 10440 3.6V 500mAh 2Pack as do the ones Janty supply for their Stick.

Also regular cleaning with the reset button (on a fresh battery to get the coil glowing well) seems to help.

is a 10440 the same as a AAA battery? My Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable seems identical in size.

There is a difference. AAA batteries (NiMh, NiCad, Alkaline etc.) are rated between 1.2 and 1.5 volts. On the other hand, 10440's are lithium-ion cells in the size of a AAA battery. They are rated at 3.7v. Don't mix the two up - putting a Lithium ion battery on a charger for normal AAA's could be dangerous!
