8% D RY4 [TFA]
4% Bavarian Cream [TFA]
4% Caramel Candy [TFA]
84% VG 0 nic

First time I tried it, it tasted horrible. It was very perfumey with a strong floral after taste. I let it steep for about 4 days, and the initial perfumey flavor was replaced with a nutty tinge, but the floral after taste remains, although not as strong as before steeping. I regret making a 10 ml batch  If I do a mouth exhale, it is vapable. If I do a nose exhale, it tastes like victoria secret lotions were shoved down my nostrils.

Maybe DRY4 isn't for me? I've tried 5% Asian RY4 [TFA] alone, and that tasted amazing by itself. I can't say the same for DRY4 all by itself. I'll try the original Rwhy4 again, but this time using Asian RY4.

Perfume / floral taste can mean too much flavor. I'm sure it can mean other things as well, but that seems to be the primary reason.

If you haven't tossed this out yet, try cutting it with with some more VG or PG. Use 3 or 4 ml of your original solution plus 1ml of VG or PG.

I tried a similar recipe with vanilla swirl instead of the bavarian cream. I liked it, but it was a bit too sweet and rich for me. Now that I've got some bavarian cream flavor I'm going to give it another shot, probaby at 8%, 3%, 3%.

After a few more days of steeping, i.e., opened bottle during the nights, shaking once everyday, and giving it a warm bath steep atleast once a day, WOW! This thing is amazing. I was about to douse it with menthol and AP and call it a day, but upon trying it a few hours ago, this is now in my rotation. Little to no floral after taste, and it is pretty damn good.

The Asian Rwhy4 I made on the 25th didn't need a few days to steep. It was palatable and good enough to vape right after a vigorous shake.

I was very happy to see this recipe as I am new to DIY juicing and was looking to make a tobacco, caramel, creamy juice!
I really was! ALL my favs!
And BAM! Here it was! (IS!)
Well, since my first order from Wizard was for 51 bottles of flavoring I had everything I needed. Yeahhhh!!
I have made 10mL JUST NOW and it is hot steeping. (just learned that from you guys! TY! :)
This marks my 6th juice making attempt. Numbers 1 and 5 came out great! 2,3 and 4...mehhhh...STILL need work. I think I over-flavored them. :(
I added a few drops of 555 Dk Tob, and the same with French Vanilla. ALL my flavors are by TFA.

I'll update when I vape! I'm excited! I've been a bit down since my last 3 were off the mark, and still trying to salvage them.
Hoping this one picks me up a bit. But I'm reading all I can from you guys...:D
Anyway...I'll be back with the verdict!

Thanks!

Wellll......after hot steeping several times, shaking it for 10 min straight, and letting it sit uncapped for 2 hours, one thing is obvious. I put in TOO MUCH 555!!!

It's all I can taste, and it's too strong!

I guess I just didn't realize just how powerfully strong a flavor 555 is!

So now what???

I have 10 mL of way too strong 555...So being new to DIY, and obviously overly ambitious, can I just double the recipe to 20 mL, and add the differences in nic, PG,VG and the other flavors to cut it???

I really want to get this right!

Still in this fight!

Thanks!
-JS

So, for my update....HELP!!!

I added 10 more mils of material. Nic, PG/VG, flavorings, MINUS any more 555. STILL that's all I can taste!

This is now 20mL of what WANTS to be great! There is a difference in that the sweetness of the other flavors is hitting my tongue on my Provari, and in my Protank, BUT I'm still getting that SOUR taste from the 555!

Now, what do I do?! Seriously, somebody save me! LOL

Do I add ANOTHER 10 mL to make 30?! Will it make a difference? Or do I just cut my losses, let this one steep, and hope it gets less sour, and more sweet over time, and mellows out a bit?

And just start over and make THE ORIGINAL MIX that I KNOW will be excellent??!!

Could use some advice on this over-zealous move I made here!

Thanks ALL!

You say "51 bottles of flavoring I had everything I needed"

I have almost 200 now and I keep finding new recipes and need 'just a few more flavors'. Is there a support group I can join -- perhaps Flavoring Addicts Anonymous? I need help.

LOLOL!!!

Funny! Maybe we can start one! It only takes two people!

It is true though, right? Not a bad first order for me. But I "NEED" Vanilla Swirl (even though I have 3 kinds of vanilla already!), Cantalope, Peach, TA, etc. etc. etc. Haha!

You're absolutely right!

And I've only been mixing, and studying everything as I go, for about 2 weeks!

But I've already made at least a couple of pretty decent flavors...Tutti Frutti Bubblegum, and a Sweet Watermelon mix that are great! 3 others suck right now though! LOL I'm trying to save them with cutting.

Incidently, I'm looking for a decent Dulce de Leche recipe. I have the Dulce de Leche (TFA) flavoring. But didn't know if that's "all I needed". ??? Love BWB's juice. But wanna make MY OWN NOW! This is for another thread. ;)

So, for anyone who my see this...I ended up "cutting my losses" with my hybrid "RWhy4" mix with the 20mL of 555 mixed in and made a new bottle of the original RWhy4 and suppressed the intense urge to put other things in it! LOL

As a result, I now have a great juice at 10mL and will let the 20mL bottle just steep and see what happens.

Thanks to all of you for your posts here, and of course to tc1 for the recipe!

Any advice would still be much appreciated, as I continue to learn new things about vaping, and DIY juice every single day!

Vape on!

You can keep diluting your 555 mix down till it's vapeable but I would start with a new mix of the standard RWHY4 to give yourself a starting point,if the standard mix is not to your liking, start playing with it from there.

I make a lot of 555 for people I've helped switch and go through 30mls of RWHY4 a week but the two together are not for my palate.

Remember that the RY4 Double provides the tobacco flavour for RWHY4.

Good luck and :vapor:

TYVM for your advice!

I ended up making a separate 10Ml bottle of the ORIGINAL 10/5/5 recipe, and it came out great!
I'd never worked with 555 before, like it, but didn't realize just how darn powerful, and "sour" it is when mixing! LOL
What does it end up being, like 1 drop/10mL as an enhancer??
I will say that even after just one full day, after hot steeping, long shake, open cap, etc...it SMELLS mellower now, and a bit darker already, so I've got hope! :)
This will round out I hope, and will be just another variant of this recipe to vape.
BTW, I also made another version with Butterscotch (TFA) in place of the DRY4, and added a touch of Dulce de Leche (TFA). NICE! But THAT is a whole other animal without the DRY4!
Loving it, and my confidence is back up because of people like you!

Thanks again!

Thanks for this. My first DIY liquid that I really consider vapable on a daily basis. Just made my second 30ml bottle of it.

I ended up going 7.5% caramel candy and 2.5% bavarian cream, because I find the vanilla a little overpowering.

As a side note, I really like the Midas RY4, but it's rather insanely priced... with the shipping from U.K. it comes to about $1/ml. in the big bottle... That's what finally nudged me into trying DIY, and I tried several other RY4 recipes that didn't work out so well. I wouldn't say this is the same, but it's definitely in the ballpark.

Thanks OP. I tried this as my first stab at DIY juice and it came out pretty good. I just used the original flavors and 10/5/5 ratio with a 50/50 PG/VG 10 mg/l result. I let it sit for about 10 days. I've got a 30 ml. batch going and am going to seperate those into 3 10ml. bases and add something to each one. Thanks again.
