RY4D (TFA) at 8% -1 week steep: NO flavor!!!?

Hello all,

Did 1st diy batch last week. No nic, 60/40 pg/vg w/ 8% RY4D. Just vaped some in a bridgless atty and there is literally no flavor. Just a hint of sweetness. It is totally clear not hardly any hint of aroma to the juice.? I am absolutely sure the flavoring was added, as i am quite meticulous/obsessive about projects like this.

I saw a thread last week about some clear ry4D from wizardlabs that people had some concerns about how weak it was compared to what it usually is...

I bought 50ml from WL within the last 2 weeks. The RY4D is completely clear with no aroma to it. What are your thoughts on this? Sure would appreciate it!

The ry4d I have is also clear. Ive mixed it at 10% and was good but needed just a tad more. Last batch was 11% and is a good vape.

That sure is odd! Whenever I make it, it needs no steeping and has plenty of flavor right after mixing at 7.5%........... -It is amber tint when mixed. This is TFA RY4D straight from TFA.

I'm thinking there may have been a bad batch that went out.I remember the thread your talking about,it was not only wizard that people had that problem from,i got mine from another supplier and it was clear as well.I have bought this flavor several times,and the flavoring always had a light golden color to it,until the last one i bought,it was crystal clear,and has stayed clear,i bought it almost 3 months ago.I have never attempted to use it because it does not seem to right,so not willing to take that chance,i will just reorder direct from tfa.

I was one of the posters in that thread. Mine came from WL also, and was very clear and weak tasting. The word from TFA is that the recipe hasn't changed, so I'm thinking it must have been a bad batch.

I got some in July direct from TFA; it is basically flavorless but very sweet (for me, at least) at 8%. After 2 months, the 8% mix is a faint yellow and smells vaguely of artificially flavored maple syrup. I use it to sweeten other flavors.

My suspicion is that something got mislabeled.

Thanks so much for the info everyone! Really appreciate your thoughts. Bad batch or mislabeled seems to be the answer. At 8% i should be tasting something! I will see if WL will do anything about it. If not will try to order from TFA direct or rts and see if its better. Man i so wanted to have me a nice RY4 to vape this weekend!

Johnny, when was the last time you got some from TFA? I am eager to try the RY4D everyone raves about, but I am pretty sure what I have now is not it. When someone verifies TFA is shipping the good stuff again, I will give it another try.

It's been about 6 months since I got my last RY4D from TFA.

Ive mixed this up to 12 % before with a couple of other flavors added in and it tastes great. I will say though I bout 4 oz of this stuff from perfectvape and It is absolutely horrible tastes like flowers with menthol. I have no clue what the actual flavor is??

I ordered ry4d from WL a month ago and its fine. I misunderstood what the op was saying in reference to color. The flavor is clear before steep but after four hours in the crock pot it is a pretty amber/orange color

I got RY4D from WL last month and it's good to go too. Maybe you got something mislabled. Have you contacted WL yet?

I use RY4D a lot. Last batch from One Stop was nice amber with a nice scent. I still mix it at 30% for my RTAs and 15% for my RDAs though. I like strong flavor.

Just got a vial sept 19th from the wizard and its good, seems a bit stronger than norm too. Lucky vial

Last months vials were definitely weaksauce..

8% matches RY4 from hangsen's note for note when it's "right" (strong)from the vial.
15% may be right when it's weak, IDK anymore lol... Used to be same every order, one bad out of many meh..

Thanks for your post. Been looking for a substitute for TFA since it gives out a chemical taste I can't get rid of even with steeping. Is Hangsen RY4 the same color as the TFA? Does it also have a chemical taste when freshly mixed? Thanks again.

If yours is like my last, increasing the percentage won't work, or at least it didn't for me. I'd suggest trying to find something to mix it with.
