I got my Atom today and it is beautiful.....but......I'm having a few issues. It almost seems like the mesh doesn't want to wick very well. I'm using a 50/50 juice and i keep getting dry hits. I almost hate to pull the wick out because its wound perfectly. I have taken the cap off and when I hit the button it will sizzle for a sec or two then all the coils will glow red. I even tried to prime the wick a bit but it doesn't stay that way. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or not. I also initially was receiving some E1 errors on my Pro-Vari but that seems to have stopped.

Any suggestions.

Steve

Hi Steve,

A few things to try (I use 90/10 vg/pg juice) burn the coil with your juice 5-6 times just drip and burn it off holding the pv strait up and down this can help a lot, but when the coils burn red it's not good if you re-wrap use some rolling paper on the wick where the coil wraps around and burn it with no juice and no juice in the tank ether (it must be dry) 4-5 times this will burn the excess off then just blow the remaining burnt paper off this will leave a base under the coil so hot spots are eliminated. I have fond on post type attys like these were you wrap the wire around a post they have a little more gap between the wick and post which can make hot spots or shorts a little more problematic than other setup's. This rolling paper trick was very helpful for me. I do use both 325 and 400 mesh and have found that with 400 if it's not wicking to hold the pv at a 3 oclock position it will help wick thick juice.

Ammm I will try to fined how can do that , or when I will get mine if I will face the same problem I will ask for the way exactly.

don't you have tobacco shops in qatar? i'm sure some people roll their own cigarettes! but don't worry - you might never have this problem with the wick! ;)

Check out scubabatdan or igetcha69 video tutorial on this is setup. I haven't needed to use it on my Zen but on the line I used to have it worked very well, some will never see this issue come up (hot spots or shorts) but if you do this rolling paper trick works very good at eliminating it.

Hey Tibs,
I found it, the guys name is Riptrippers and I found him on youtube. Its 270 mesh from McMaster Carr and its 304 type of mesh. He also has a video saying to use 2 wicks instead of 1. Put a much thinner wick insidew the regular wick and it doubles the flav. I'm gonna have to try that.

I am doing great, all things considered. Yesterday was my 1st follow up w the surgeon. The x-rays show a perfect hardware setup. You should see the size of the screws. I saw a lifesize xray and I was amazed. They go all the way thru my spine, and they are cone shaped like a huge Siam mods drip tip.:) I seriously thought of that as soon as I saw them. I am walking a 1/4 mile twice a day, and they started to ween me off the brace. So all is well!!
