Looking forward to my first S&S DCSM (DefConStandardMini) - is that the name?
Or, just Defcon mini? Or, since all future ones (other than atom) will be the smaller size..... just DefCon?

As to wick longevity, I have a wick in line for two months still works good as the day I rolled it. That said I dry burn and brush with toothbrush every flavor change. Still using the same coil as well

A general Note on Genesis Atomizer. I currently use 4 Ce2's in MAP tanks in conjunction with a KICK. the Ce2's are 2.6-2.8 ohm's and the DEFCONs are 2.2-2.4. the CE2's work great at 5watts. However the Genesis type atty's seem to require more volatge per ohm than the "traditional atty. While I have a good deal of experience with both atomizers typs, I am at a loss to explain this. If anyone can chime in it would be helpful.
In my very electrically challenged opinion the first thing that comes to mind is that a Gen style is less efficient in its use of current where as a sodered connection would seem to me to be an efficiently better connection. I guess what I'm saying is its easier for the ce2 to use the current than a hand wound connection, therefore requiring more current. This is definetly a question for the big boys like Breaktru in the modding subforum. It is a great question.
Okay everyone. ScubabatDan and Psuedus fellow ECF member have put together vids and a website. All the techniques for Wick prep and coiling are universal. The dimensions of wick are specific to a particular genesis mod.

I honestly believe this is due to sheer design difference, as the CE2 utilizes a horizontal coil and the air is drawn through the bottom of the 510 connector and travels through the tank, while the majority of Genesis atty's have an air hole adjacent to the coil/wick. Not sure if you're using the standard silica in the CE2's vs the SS in a Genesis, but I've learned it's easier to produce vapor from a synthetic wick whereas SS is a different beast.
I dont use the ce2s, I was putting my thoughts to the statement by youssefa. However I dont see how airflow effects current use or need.

I'd suspect the SS mesh acts as a bit of a heatsink, needing a little more wattage to reach same temps/vape.
Going to the next thread to stalk the Atoms.
