So i just got my Atom Bomb and im loving the thing but getting the airhole positioned correctly with the wick has been a pita i had it at the tip of the wick which was ok then i moved a closer to the coils which improved the flavor. What chopper recommended was i position it directly with the wick in the tube. I did this and im getting much better VTF. It was only hard because with a new coil and wick it takes a good bit to work in the wick and i got a few weird toots but VTF def improves every vape so i think its best to break in the wick then worry about the position of airhole. Gottga say the build quality on this thing is top notch feels very sturdy, the top cap takes a bit to break in but i got the hang of it. Thanks Chopper great product Great Customer Service and Shipping only took 2 days will def order next product.

My AB was supposed to be here today(even says Out for Delivery on my tracking). When the mailman came and left and nothing was in my box I hopped in my car and chased him down. I had him double check that he didn't have it and that it wasn't in someone else's box and no such luck :(

Hopefully tomorrow is the day!

Chopper if they ever give you a sub forum, maybe those little tricks could be put in one thread, to make it easier to find.

My Rules for Making Wicks:

1. Cut the stainless steel 45 degrees bias from the grain. That makes it exponentially easier to bend the wick without kinking it. This wastes a little mesh, since you can't cut a sheet evenly into a bunch of rectangles. There will be little triangles left over from the perimeter of the sheet that are useless. That's okay though, cuz a SS Mesh wick can be rinsed and reused and last a LONG time.

2. Fold over one 1mm from the edge of the mesh, and press it smooth, then roll starting with the opposite edge around a flattened paperclip or laptop size screwdriver. That folded edge makes it so there are no frayed ends on the outside of the wick which could cause shorts.

3. Slide it off the screwdriver or paperclip and roll it between your thumb and pointer finger. This has 2 effects... 1. It tightens the roll a bit, for better capillary action, and 2. The oils naturally occurring on your fingers are rubbed onto the wick, providing a little more to season the wick when it's burned(*Note: I said naturally occurring oils on your skin, your hands should be clean).

4. Use a small pair of vice grips and clamp onto the last 1/8" of the wick to hold it. This will keep the heat far away from your hand, and makes wrapping the coil easier later...

5. Heat up with a butane torch till it's glowing red, and run the torch up and down the length till the whole thing glows red. Then douse in water... Repeat that process 5x.

***Now this IS a difference maker... If you live where the water is well treated and basically flavorless, it is NOT going to provide any season to the wick to douse it. It's the "stuff" in tap water getting burned onto the wick... If you live in an area with super great water like this, get a bottle of mineral water to do this part.

6. Now heat it up completely red hot again just like before, but instead of dousing it, drip eliquid on it. Get the whole wick wet with eliquid, and then ignite it with a cigarette lighter and let it burn itself off. Do this 3x.

***Another difference maker! Darker liquids are best for this part... Regular PG or VG, or light/clear eliquids will work, but will require more tweaking later to play nice. Don't worry about imparting flavor, it will burn off nicely(That having been said, I'd avoid cinnamon/mint flavors).

7. Now hold the jaws of the vice grips, and press the coil wire between your thumb and the jaw of the vice grips. Then just take the coil wire and lead it off the jaw onto the wick, and wrap your coils.

***Do not worry about pre-heating the coil wire. That takes the springyness out of the wire and makes it more likely that you will wrap the coils too tight.

8. Put your coil onto the atomizer, keeping the wick close as possible to the posts. Now check it. You might need to use a toothpick to nudge it a little if the coils shifted too much while you put it on the atomizer, but it should be good to go. Now dry fire it a few times before you vape on it. This will take care of the "heat the wire so no metallic taste" part.

I've been using this method for the last month, and it works every time. I can go from sheet of mesh and length of wire to having a coiled and wicked atomizer ready to vape in 5 minutes flat over and over again.

There is also a "cigarette paper trick" floating around the forum that actually does work great, but for me it left a noticeable burnt paper taste that wouldn't go away so... ymmv.

Can you post a picture of this cut?.....1. Cut the stainless steel 45 degrees bias from the grain.

It might be hard to see... All I have is my iPhone to take pics with...

On top is a regular cut... The lines run vertical and horizontal. On bottom is a 45 degree bias cut. Notice the lines in it run at a 45 degree angle...

I have redone the positive post on the AB to give it more stability and to shorten the legs between the + and -.Also you will not need the wick with the bend, its a straight wick now.It still hits like a train as I've been using it.So the AB will have one screw post and one sterling silver post. The SS post is the positive and the screw post is the negative.

Speaking of tanks for glass tanks that I sent them to see if this company would make them for me. After waiting 2 weeks, I called and they said they were
not interested in making them. They never once called me. They never gave me a reason why, just said not interested in making the glass tubes.

Hate companies like that... No reason or anything. No correspondence. It's bad business... Well I'm gonna work on my husband(explain why I need one of these...) Once I get one we will measure the tube and look into some pyrex.

Depends on the resisyance but 3.3 or 3.4 is the max to begin with. Then within 24 hrs you can crank it up to whatever a good balance is. My coil is like 2.4Ω and I'm vaping @ 4.5V
