Mornin :) I been wondering the same thing about refilling.... or filling rather.... Any way to test for an actual fill hole like I know ive seen on others or would that not work for this design?

I have no problems filling my Defcom.I've filled mine 5x with no problems. But I like the fill hole on my line. Its sealed off when you screw the cap on.On the others I have I pluged the hole after filling.

Ok, still learning the ways of the Genesis wicks and attys but couldn't this just be filled using the extra hole in the silicone cap that is now on the newer versions or is it too small?

I understand this doesn't help the ones that have the 1st versions but just didn't know if I am missing something while I prepare in receiving mine?

Hey, wanna see something neat? Back in the day before Chopper was a forum supplier, he put up a Genesis Mini clone in the classifieds. He didn't make it. I'm not sure where he got it -- co-op or something I guess. But the Gen was flaky. When I got it, there was a short in the connector.

I mentioned it to Chopper. I was prepared just to chalk it up to bad luck and caveat emptor and all that, but Chopper graciously offered to repair it for me.

I got it back. He did an excellent job with the repair, replacing the crappy little flimsy 510 connector with a Go-Go connector, then employing a Go-Go to 510 adapter. The connector is all stainless steel and rock solid sturdy now. He also replaced the well-worn wires with new silver while he was at it.

With the first package, the one I originally received as a result of Chopper's classified ad, I also got what appeared to be a beta of the Defcon Mini. Since this is a Defcon Mini thread and all, I'll toss in the obligatory picture of early Defcon-ness as well as a couple more pics of the Gen Mini clone.

Anyway, thanks Chopper!

Too small.I'm not a big fan of a fill hole in the silica cap.In my experance if its layed on its side it leaks out the whole.Thats why the ones I have like that I plug.

The new version of the DC has a pressure release metal tube in it.So anyone that will be getting them from here on out.You can use a syringe in that metal tube to fill. Some have the upgrades now with it.So please try it and let everyone know how it works for you.You can use a 18 or 20 gauge needle,20 would be better.
