Thanx Bianca!

i have seen the images at these links. THIS picture is probably the most helpful for me, as i'm seeking a super mini:

YouTube's collection is INSANE. but she's clearly into the mods, so I don't know if she can help me find a good super mini. I saw the two she had, and they look like early models that I won't be happy with.

i will keep looking.
That photo you included in your post was a patchwork I had made, based primarily on Nikko Daniels' photo. For more information on super-minis, check out this page of my WWV V2.

Love to look at the super mini stuff. Whether would love puffing them is an entirely different matter...:vapor:

The video on the M601 was rather impressive for smoke amount. The M series makes me nervous though... anytime i see mass marketers use a model... I tend to turn my car and head in the other direction...fast...LOL.

hi all,

i am bummed.

I think this is the 3rd Friday that's come along and I haven't been able to choose a PV for me. I have to make my first choice a good one, simply for $$ reasons. $50-$100 is a big investment to me. i'm willing to make it, but i can't buy something i will want to replace immediately.

i've been looking at the L88b, SS #7 micro, revolver elite, E8, M403, kr808-2, or -1, or the 510, or the....ugh.

i cannot find a place with all of the info to compare them. i can't even find a place that shows the size of all of them together. i saw one pic that had a few together, but not one of each model. it seems most of the websites don't want to identify what they sell. either the model number is left out, or the pics are too small to really tell what is what.

yes, i'm looking for a super mini. stuff i've read about super minis has been fairly negative, because of short battery life or leaking carts, or batts and atts that last two uses. but the stuff i've read is also 1-3 yrs old. have they been revised? what's the latest info?

i was hoping to have one ordered by now. i still don't, and i don't feel any closer to figuring out which is best for me. everyone here seems to be into the bigger units, the mods and pens, etc. i want one that's the same diameter as an analog or slimmer. essentially, something that will satisfy my hand's desire for a cigarette.

i will keep trying, keep reading. i need to try to watch some of these videos, but i can't get youtube vids to work here. (at work, i don't have internet at home)

if you read this far, hey thanx for e-listening. sorry to be a bummer. y'no, it's just friday evening and it would be nice to go home and have a smoke. i mean, a VAPE.

have a good weekend.
Tj :(

I would suggest cignot.com no box joye 510 $35.00 and Libertyflights Ego $39.00 you will get 4 PV's with all the equip. you need just buy juice from wherever you like...that's what i have and very happy!!!:)

Personally TJ, I would buy the RIVA from LF for $30. I mean how cheap can you possibly make this? lol. I am likely going to buy a couple of kits in case there is ever a ban/and or have as backups.

If you decide to look at those, use this link:

20% off your whole order!

And if you later decide you want a mini you will have something that WORKS and will still use in addition to whatever else you eventually get. . For $30 bucks you can always get a mini later on, just sayin..

Wonder if you could honestly tell me how much you spend per week on cigs ?
$50 was 5 days in cigs for me. I'm just sayin, if it is really that big of an investment how did you afford to smoke?

If you go the mini route you will almost certainly either buy another model within two weeks. Or worse yet give up!

There should be a formula for how much to spend, like with engagement rings :)

i'm currently not spending anything on analogs. i haven't been able to buy smokes since the "FLAVORED CIG - except menthol of course - BAN".

but prior to that, i'd go through a pack in a week max. so $5 a week?

hi DON!

your 6 part series is a VERY IMPORTANT base of info for noobs. i read the whole thing when i first got here. then after a few days of research, i went back to read it all again, and so much of it made more sense that didn't the first time.

thank you very much for assembling the series!

my thoughts while reading the series, were 1) is this info obsolete, a year later? as in, have the manufacturers revised their products to address the shortcomings described? and 2) there isn't enough directly comparable data between the models to answer my questions about what is what?

this page Brand and Model Compatibility Chart - E-Cigarette Wiki
created by Smokey Joe would be an excellent data base if it was complete.

but there are too many obsolete models listed, too many empty slots on the popular ones, and some just plain incorrect info. maybe some volunteers will go through and try to fill in the blanks.

hey BUSS,

i completely understand your suggestion to go with a Riva, if one's purpose is some really efficient vaping. moderate size, lots of power, flexibility, etc.

at the moment, i'm not going for the efficiency. i'm going for the realistic reproduction of an activity i used to enjoy, smoking a clove with a beer. so in my current frame of mind, the RIVA or the EGO look like fat stogies to me. i don't want a fat stogie in my hand. i want that skinny little tasty-flavored thing i remember but can no longer buy in this country thanx to hypocritical politicians.

i think there is a significant amount of "walk before run" -effect involved with PVing. many of you went through it unintentionally. most report in hindsight that they wish they hadn't. yet, if you hadn't your perspective may not be the same.

so i certainly don't want to "waste money" like some report, by buying a "blu" (ECF has already helped me there) or using a really bad vendor (i've read about many).

i am still collecting info. there must be a decent super mini out there that's going to duplicate the activity like i want, but still has decent quality hardware. one of these new PCC types must have a solution for me.

At this point I feel somewhat comfortable suggesting you check out the products from SmokeStik.
They seem to be working towards satisfying those who are looking for what you are looking for.

Hi, TJ. Here's my two cents worth. I started smoking when I was 13, and tried lots of times to quit. But it's hard to stop doing something you LOVE doing. I always said, I'm never going to quit, I'll just temporarily stop, but on my 80th birthday I'm going buy a pack! Then I heard an ad on the radio that a new e-cig store opened in my town, just about the time that reality hit, my daughter was really going off to college. How could I rationalize spending $8.28 a day for a pack of Marlboros? I went to the store on payday, Friday August 6, bought myself an overpriced purple dse901 and two boxes of five cartridges for $5 each, and went home to charge up my new toy. Since that time Massachusetts has not seen one dime of tobacco revenue from me. I really thought this was great and couldn't figure out why anti-tobacco groups weren't handing out disposable e-cigs outside every corner store. Then I found this forum, and juice, cinnamon, chocolate cheesecake, and, and, and I felt like this was the closest I could ever come to getting into Willie Wonka's factory. The downside was the battery life of my 901. So I ordered a PCC. But I still wanted MORE. After stalking around the vendor forum, I found a Joye eGo kit for a really good price, and I took the plunge. After all, I wasn't spending $8.28 a day on analogs, and the size somehow wasn't as important to me as it had been a month before. By this point, I had gotten my brother-in-law using a 901, too, because his 12 year old daughter was about to go in for her third open heart surgery, and my SIL didn't want him smoking around her. I got my eGo, and yes, it's bigger, but I'll take the additional bulk when I know that I can go the entire day without worrying about the battery dying on me. I had my BIL try my eGo, since he was still smoking anologs along with using his 901, and he was like, wow, now THAT will keep me off cigarettes. And yes, it has.

I think the reason so many people are recommending an eGo is that it provides a more satisfying replacement than what most people purchase when they are first starting out. Yes, I love my eGo, but I don't think I would appreciate it as much if I hadn't stepped up from a smaller, possibly more realistic device that doesn't offer the same experience as an eGo. And now that I've figured out dripping, I am starting to think about a juice box thingy. Not sure....but if somebody had told me in August that I'd even consider one of those funny looking box things, I would have laughed. It's like anything else, I didn't start out liking Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, When I was in my 20's I drank Heineken, in my 30's I was pretty loyal to Samuel Adams Boston Lager, and now, I'm a hophead. Tastes evolve, and what may seem important to you today probably won't matter at all in January. I am not going to tell you to buy an eGo, but I would say that whatever you do buy, don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting bigger, better, different. And that's ok, just stash the money you save on smokes, you may end up loving the first thing you buy, but if you don't, welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!!

Dude... trust me... the post below is your answer. From what you've said is important to you, this post is EXACTLY what you want. There is nothing else that will fit your needs better.

"If I was going to buy something for you, according to what you want, this is what I would buy. To be honest I was in almost the exactly situation except I smoked more. I would also put in the notes to include joye 510 cartomizers instead of the atomizer and cartridge. Cartridges suck and the only people I know that like them are people who haven't tried good cartos. I drip straight onto an atomizer when it's convenient and I use 510 cartos otherwise. If you want a real cig experience though use cartomizers. Honestly I prefer the BOGE over the Joye and they feel more like a real cigarette (the BOGE are smaller). The PCC will take care of any battery lengivity issues.

When placing your order, you might want to get 1 manual and 1 auto battery. There are times I like the manual and times I like the auto. 1 of each may be a good idea, because if you spill liquid into the auto you will ruin in. Until you get the whole refilling process down, I would stick with a manual for testing out juices after refills and such.

Also, I'm not affiliated with them at all but FreedomsmokeUSA has the best juices/customer service I've experienced yet and if your looking for cartos or replacement parts (other than 510 batteries, which i get from cignot) hit up litecig.com. They have tons of parts and their shipping is incredibly cheap and fast.

Good luck! "

I think thats great advise, but not targeted for TJ. He's an extremely light smoker.

thanx, DC. i do like the SS Hendu. I wish it wasn't $100. But i just spent 4hrs reading here, and i've learned about SS's warranty and their attention to quality. People really seem to like their cartos and batteries. Plus it's a 4081 which has a lot of flexibility.

I tend to research a LOT before I make a purchase and I've lurked here for months so I understand your pain, but after a good bit of research I went with a Joye 510 starter kit. My reasoning was that it seems to be at a pretty good sweet spot of price and performance for a beginner, and it is widely used so there's no problem finding and price comparing on a variety of parts and accessories.

I found DDBV's Wonderful World series pretty helpful for making my purchase, not the least bit because it has a lot of pictures. If you still need that kind of stuff you might want to check that out.

Whatever you decide to do, just keep in mind that most ecig components are by their very nature kind of disposable. Whatever you buy now, you aren't locked into for life. So buy something affordable, see how you like it, and then once you have some more experience about what you like and what you prioritize then you can graduate to more expensive stuff and exotic mods. That's my plan at least.

I smoked a pack a day for 15 years, then ordered KR808 D-1 kit about 6 months ago, which I loved and immediately quit analogs. I've been happy with my kit since then, but battery life isn't real good on them, its not an issue for me because I work from home and can constantly charge one while using another. I just ordered a Riva 510 but it isn't here yet so I don't know what I think of it, but I really think I ordered it just to try something new and not because I'm unhappy with the D1 at all. The KR808 D-1 is suiting me just fine...I have an odd obession with trying new things just because someone says its better...its a flaw!

TJ why are you not interested in the 510? it has at least 4x the amount of parts to accessorize with than the 4081 (which is very good).

Got 20 days under my belt. Pack and a half a day previous smoker. Got the 510 with Cartomizers. Love it. BUT now that I know what I know and am acclimating - I'd go with the EGO for longer lasting batteries. That's just wishful thinking for the future though. Am perfectly content for the time being. Hint - go with a high mg of nicotine to start. Chance of failing is much smaller I think.

it's kinda big, Mark. so is the KR808-D1.

i just came close to buying a LeCig build your own D1 package. it came up to $90 for 3 batts, 3 5pks of cartos, PCC, and the charger. very close to buying. i couldn't pull the trigger.

i spent an hour before that at the S'Moore site comparing M401/402/403/601c/702/801. They all have PCC's available too. Some will hold the cig assembled.

i swear i could pull my hair out if i had any left.

i'm going home again, without placing an order. =(
