It's litecigusa.net. litecig.com won't work.

By the way, most people (after they try them) prefer manual batteries. It's easy for liquid to leak into the hole in automatic batteries and kill the batteries. This won't happen with manual batteries. It's also easy to get used to pushing the button when ready to vape.

Thanks for the correction :) I do prefer manuals, UNLESS i want to be lazy and smoke like a regular cig. I still like autos and usually I'm on the move with 1 auto and 1 manual. Overall I think the performance of a manual is slightly better but sometimes I just dont want to have to push the button ;)

this!

this!

do yourself a favor and get a kr808d1. if i would have gotten the ego first i never would have kept vaping because of the hassle of 3 piece models.

The battery does not determine if a unit is 2 or 3 peice. The available of cartomizers for that battery is what determines if it is a 2 or 3 piece.

i have read the first two pages on this thread; i want to chime in.

i guess tomorrow will be one week i have been using a kr808d1. i was around a pack a day smoker, camel filters. many days more than a pack. i like my nic and i want to hit it hard a couple times a day, and i also like chain smoking in the car (very stinky!). i currently have FOUR batteries and a pcc, and frankly i am going crazy. i already discovered i need higher nic than the prefilled cartos that i initially ordered, and i am so frustrated with inconsistent hits, inconsistent flavor, the need to constantly charge batteries and switch out carts to keep them from burning up.... ugh.

so, a week into this, i am just about to order an ego. like, probably, when i am done typing here. when it arrives, i will do my level best to return my minis to the supplier i ordered from. i have probably spent over 200 in a week between batts, cases, chargers, cartos and juice. the ego would have been cheaper and easier.

i guess it was nice to do the mini to start, as it is more like a cigarette, but it just does not satisfy, just TOO frustrating. i am too busy between work and kids to mess with topping and switching and charging all day long. i dont know whether to think i made a mistake, because lets face it, the similar appearance of the mini helps. but i wont stay with it.

i dont know if that helps. obviously other posters here are pleased with their minis, but i do think it is wise to consider how much and how often you smoke when making your decision.

I had the EXACT same experience with the kr808D-1. I returned it. I got a 510 and I've been very happy. The key for me is to carry around 2 batteries with a PCC. I NEVER run out of batteries. If I'm going to be heavy vaping i grab an extra battery to bring with.

FYI, i have an ego and unless you use a LR atty, it doesnt hit as hard as a KR808D1, and yes ive used a carto on the ego. 510 cartos hit even weaker than standard attys (imho) and do not hold as much liquid as 808s. as far as 808s cartos burning, use the 3.3-3.5 resistance cartos and unless you vape them dry, they wont burn. btw, 510 cartos can and do burn too. adapters for an 808 to 510 dont have proper air flow for use on an ego (at least not the 3 types that i have tried). ego batts are around 3.2volts and kr808d1 is true 3.7, so yes, the 808 does hit harder. the problem with a LR atty on a 510 is that fruity liquids just dont taste good on it (actually, LR attys seem to kill the flavor on a lot of liquids), and not everyone wants hot vapor. im glad your 1000mah batt lasts you that long. mine only lasts me about 8 hours (i think this is because i have to take much longer "drags" off of it to get a strong enough hit to suit me). i get 3 hours off my kr808d1 and always have an extra batt ready to go, so i never have any down time. i also have a glv2 mini, a 510, a 901, a smokestik 4081, and a wetbox with an 808 connection. now, next time you want to resond to me, maybe you can try not talking down to me like im some noob that doesnt know anything about vaping.

I disagree a lot of what you say here. Some of the things you state as facts are not facts...

You addressed several issues, so I'll respond to each one in a separate paragraph.

1) My response to you was because you said this: "if i would have gotten the ego first i never would have kept vaping because of the hassle of 3 piece models," which made it sound like you thought the eGo was a 3-piece model. When I respond to messages, I don't take the time to read through all of your prior posts to find out what level of "noob" you are. I just type out the facts, as I know them, while also considering the fact that other users (both new and experienced) might be reading. I don't see any reference in my reply to you that could be construed as "talking down to you like you're some noob that doesn't know anything about vaping." Sorry that you misunderstood the intention in my reply.

2) I haven't used LR atomizers yet, because what I've read here about them is they decrease the life of batteries. I also get good hits from my eGo battery, so I have no need or desire to use atomizers, since I love the hassle-free cartomizers. I actually have a life and don't have time to mess with atomizers, cartridges, dripping into bridges, dipping atomizers, cleaning atomizers, and all that extra fiddling.

3) I've read that adapters from goodprophets.com (808 to 510) work fine, compared to adapters bought from some of the other suppliers. I should be receiving several 808/510 adapters tomorrow (from goodprophets), so I'll know if that's true shortly.

4) I've only used the KR808D-1 passthroughs, which I really liked at first (due to more vapor and better flavor), but after a few days, they were causing a lot of mouth/throat pain due to the higher voltage. If I use only the eGo (and 18mg nicotine), I get very little mouth pain (while still getting good THs, flavor, and vapor), so I'm only using the PTs once in a while and not constantly.

5) I don't use any fruity liquids (except Apple that I mix with other flavors listed in my signature). Tried some from two different suppliers, didn't like any of them, so I decided to stick with the great juices from FSUSA and am now buying their 120mL bottles, which costs $10 per 30mL. Great deal, great juice, and great customer service.

6) I'll drag for a long time very often, and my eGo batteries still last 12 hours or so. Your eGo sounds like a 650 or 750mAh (of course, I don't know for sure, since you didn't say which size you have), and those will only last 4 to 9 hours. I should be receiving two 900mAh eGos tomorrow (from goodprophets) and two 1300mAh eGos (from vaporheads) on Saturday. Not that I needed them, but decided it would be a good idea to have several extras.

7) I have no interest in trying out some of the other models. Have already tried a couple of the cheap, highly over-priced kits. The eGos and the three kinds of passthroughs I have are enough for me for now. Some day, probably next year, I might try a wet box mod. I can't see wasting more money on all the different models, when I'm very satisfied with what I have.

8) I'm really not one to criticize, but reading your messages would be much easier if you would split up your different ideas into separate paragraphs. I'm used to reading messages without capital letters, but it would be easier for those of us reading if all your text (covering several different subjects) wasn't bunched up into one long paragraph.

Thanks!

well said! I completely agree with everything in this post! +1

Don’t get discouraged. You don’t have to act right now. Step back and take a breather (a few more weeks of analogs isn’t going to kill you any faster).

That being said, if I were you this is what I’d do (It’s what I’d do if I could do it all over again): Get a Riva 510 starter kit; Get a manual and automatic Joye 510 battery; Get some ejuice.

Right now, Liberty Flights is having a sale for ECF members (20% off and $2.99 shipping). So you could get everything (but the auto Joye 510) for only $51.36:
-- Riva 510 starter kit ($29.99)
-- Joye 510 battery ($10.39)
-- 30ml of ejuice ($7.99)

This (along with a Joye auto batt) is the ideal starter kit, to me, because it is a very cheap buy-in to a proven, expandable system that will educate you to all of the major vaping systems and the compromises you have to make between looks, appearance, performance, and convenience:

One last bit of advice is to stop thinking of what you get now as the be all and end all of your equipment. I hate to tell you this, but everything in vaping is disposable: it will not last forever. Depending on your luck, you will need to buy new equipment in one month, three months, six months, etc. But you will have to replace this stuff at some point—more likely, sooner rather than later. So, don’t feel like you are going to get “stuck” with something outdated when the perfect solution comes along.

Well, that’s my advice. Keep in mind I just started vaping myself (9/12/10). In the short time between then and now,

1. i'm not smoking right now. my smokes were banned a few months ago, and there's no place to buy them anymore. i smoked cloves. being able to ''hit a clove" is why i'm interested in vaping at all. i'm ok with ditching the tobacco. i just want a clove to drag on once in a while.

2. RB, this is all good advice. thanx! a really good point is that this stuff is all limited lifespan. i kinda forgot about that. i'm approaching the PV purchase the same way i purchase a phone: that it's got to do all i want for 2 yrs so i don't feel that 'buyer's remorse". so thank you for bringing this to the front of my attention.

3. that's a very smart purchase suggestion. at the moment i am really leaning toward the revolver elite, but i am expecting that if i become a heavier vaper than i was a smoker, then i'll step up to the 510. it's easy to see that many of the distributors are cutting their stock of mini's to just the 510, and selling more of the ego and mod styles.

some young lady here posted about her success with the revolver set up. she said she was getting pretty consistent hits with it and the CS from the vendor was great. they also appear to be staying at the front of the new technology curve.

there's also a video review on youtube from a guy who posts and reviews regularly. i have not had access to youtube in weeks so i haven't been able to watch it, but the text and comments with the vid seem to indicate that he found the revolver elite to be a decent product.

thanx again, RB!

thanx, Shannon, that quiz was fun. but i found the most educational piece was the very first picture which compares 4 models side -by- side with their model #.

I WISH THERE WAS ONE GIANT PICTURE WITH ALL THE MODELS LINED UP AND LABELED JUST LIKE THIS. anyone seen one?

I'm only on my second day of vaping, as a way of quitting analog cigs. But I got my stuff from Vapor4Life, on the recommendation of my daughter, and she also let me try out hers before i ordered. Received my order very quickly. I got an automatic battery starter kit. 2 batteries, one usb passthrough, one usb charger, one wall charger, 10 carts and a carrying case. It was $69 and I had a coupon code, so that took it down to $55. I am so far very happy with this vaping experience. Yesterday, I only smoked 4 analogs! That is a huge for me. I normally smoke around 12 - 15 analogs. So I was really pleased with day one!! I have smoked for over 30 years, I really do hope that this method will finally get me to give up analogs all together.

OK, to the original poster (back to topic!)

I started vaping about 4 weeks ago. I was a fairly heavy Marlboro Lights smoker (pack and a half a day) and I used commit lozenges to get through the work day (we aren't allowed to smoke on premesis - I work in a hospital environment).

My first purchase was an NJoy Npro Duo starter kit from 7-11 of all places. It includes a battery, 2 cartos, and a usb charger. The battery life wasn't awesome (but it was pretty great for a mini) - 2-4 hours per charge. I found myself liking vaping very much in the beginning using this type. I stopped smoking 2 days after starting vaping.

As soon as I stopped smoking, I immediately ran back out to 7-11 and bought another starter kit to get an additional battery and another charger so I could charge one at work and one at home. I started doing all kinds of research here and on youtube, and in the meantime picked up a pack of the njoy pre-filled cartos (20 bucks for 5 @ 7-11).

After noticing from my own habits and experiences in the first 72 hours, I identified the following areas that needed improvement:

A) Ongoing Price - $4 a cart was too much to pay for pre-filled.
B) Battery Life - I was ripping through batteries - i vape VERY heavily in front of the computer.
C) Cartomizer life - this was actually pretty awesome on the npro duo - I got about a full day off of each carto.

Armed with these 3 criteria (admittedly, price was my lowest priority - Every penny I spend now I'll save far more than on life insurance later) I started looking for my first "grown up" ecig.

I decided on the eGo kit from CigNot. Considering that smokes are $8+ in connecticut, at a pack and a half a day I was spending 12 dollars a day. I decided to budget 2 weeks worth of smoke money ($168) for my first two weeks - I could spend that money on any kind of vaping gear. The eGo kit I purchased included the PCC, and I added a USB passthru and a 20ml bottle of Joye Marlb high (18mg) juice - the same stuff that came in the carts as part of the kit.

All told, I spent about $100 for the eGo with all the bells and whistles. Later I bought some mega atomizers and cartridges (which I do NOT recommend, they leaked everywhere!). After that I bought some juice from backwoods brew (24mg maple tobacco is EPIC).

I haven't had an analog or even wanted one. The eGo is great, the Npro is my trusty backup, and I've since picked up a REO Mini boxmod to further make it more convenient to vape than to light up an analog. You will get over the shape of the battery VERY quickly. I had apprehension about jumping over to the eGo, but it's fine - it looks bigger in the pics than it is.

Don't wait to get into vaping. Treat it like a hobby. Sit in front of your PC and vape and research hobbyist vaping. The more you learn about it, the more stuff you'll want to try and the less you'll want to smoke analogs.

Convenience is King!

good luck, KD!

every time i read a post from someone here who's smoked for 20-40+ years, and quit using a PV, it really makes me happy. quitting is a beyotch for so many people.

i'm plan to start vaping so i can recreate my clove smoking hobby, but i have a friend who's smoked for 10 years and I really want to be able to get her into it as well. so i have to become an expert eventually, so i can teach her. i am really glad to have found this forum. it's obvious that people here, have found success and want to share their good experiences.

Thanx Bianca!

i have seen the images at these links. THIS picture is probably the most helpful for me, as i'm seeking a super mini:
dondaboomvape-albums-pictures-used-posts-picture2649-penstyle-through-super-mini.jpg

YouTube's collection is INSANE. but she's clearly into the mods, so I don't know if she can help me find a good super mini. I saw the two she had, and they look like early models that I won't be happy with.

i will keep looking.

Glad I could help. That's just what I noticed in some of your responses: that you thought you were buying a computer or cell phone or something.

3. that's a very smart purchase suggestion. at the moment i am really leaning toward the revolver elite, but i am expecting that if i become a heavier vaper than i was a smoker, then i'll step up to the 510. it's easy to see that many of the distributors are cutting their stock of mini's to just the 510, and selling more of the ego and mod styles.

I can't help with the Revolver, never used it. I don't even know the atty it uses. Just watch out for proprietary stuff-- can get expensive.

I suggested the Riva/eGo and Joye 510 combination because they are affordable, very common and interchangeable. You can find their attys anywhere. My current setup is a Riva and Joye 510. I like that in the morning I just grab a fully charged Riva and Joye batt, throw an atty and cart on each, then grab four carts. I'm set for the day because I have backups for everything: two batts; two attys; and six carts-- all which can be swapped back and forth. I usually vape the Riva and don't use the Joye, but it's there for backup and if I am in a social situation where I want the appearance of smoking a real cig.

The Joye 510 manual is a great e-cig. But I really wish they'd improve the auto Joye batt because I'd prefer an auto since I only use the Joye as a social I'm-smoking-a-real-cig device. It's more convincing with the auto. If they'd fix the cutoff issues, it would be a good auto batt. The auto Kr8 is a great auto batt. I thought of getting a Riva 901 so I could use it with my Kr808s. But I didn't like how hard it was to find 901 attys.

I hope you can find your first step. I'm glad you don't sound so "sad" anymore.

On a side note. I remember wanting to see comparison picks of all the models, too. What bugged me then and still bugs me now is how everyone who does these pics never think to throw an analog cigarette in the shot! I hate that. It would be a great help for the Noobs that don't have any of the devices yet. Oh well. It doesn't matter now since I now have some of the devices to compare to.

$50-$100 is a big investment to me.

Wonder if you could honestly tell me how much you spend per week on cigs ?
$50 was 5 days in cigs for me. I'm just sayin, if it is really that big of an investment how did you afford to smoke?

If you go the mini route you will almost certainly either buy another model within two weeks. Or worse yet give up!

There should be a formula for how much to spend, like with engagement rings :)

There is: whatever price keeps you off analogs. You cannot put a price on health
