Saw my Doctor.....Africa???

I went in for my yearly physical last week. Having read many of your threads about educating your Doctors on the benefits of e-cigarettes, I went in armed with information about them.

I waited till the very end of my appointment, reached into my purse and pulled out my Riva starting into my pitch. He just nodded and said, "Oh yeah, I saw a lot of people using those when I was in Africa." I just sat with my mouth hanging open. Huh? Africa? He smiled and walked out of the room before I had a chance to ask more questions.

So, not being much of a traveler, I ask you all, is he right? I'm sure than China must have more people vaping, but in what other places is vaping more common than here in the US?

I judge by who gets their own forum here on the boards- UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and the Netherlands. I think I'd have shared your shock had my physician recognized an ecig from a trip to Africa, too, as my first thought would be safaris. I have to remind myself that parts of Africa, particularly South Africa, are quite cosmopolitan.

Well, I can tell you it's uncommon everywhere I've been - which doesn't happen to include Africa.

And I must say, I share your surprise. SimpleSins may be right - perhaps he was in an urban area. But still, that would surprise me.
