So Iv been browsing around, found a bunch of info on these screwdrivers.
They look awesome, it seems perfect for me.

I was wondering if there is a US retailer for them?
It kinda sucks dealing with conversion rates the way they are right now, paying $150 or more, plus the more expensive overseas shipping.

I would also really like to hear from the owner of a Prodigy, how they feel it compares to the SD.
Or any other comparable e-cig for that matter, Im not sure if I even know half of the models.

I think the SD will have dealers someday in the US, but you are basically paying the same amount for the Prodigy with all the accessories pretty much as you would for the SD. Almost the same.

I would only add that the SD has a proven track record. The Prodigy while it looks good has yet to demonstrate the same reliability. I am content to let others act as test subjects..................

I purchased a SD, and I cringed dealing with the conversion rate . . . and the 10-day wait for it to arrive via Royal Post.

Having said that, it's the best purchase I've made to date. Seriously. It's so freakin' consistent, it's frightening. I have other models that I enjoy (and even love), but my SD has quickly become my favorite.

They'll have to pry my SD from my cold, dead hands. In fact, I like it so much that I have a backup SD. Yup. I like it that much.

Now, I have a JantyStick on order, and it may be that it sneaks ahead of the SD. Maybe. Maybe not. Honestly, I ordered the JantyStick because I love Janty products, and the more I vape, the more excited I am about things that don't look like analogs.

It could be that if I like my JantyStick, I might wind up selling my extra SD, but somehow I doubt it.

If you really don't want to mess with conversion rates and such, check out the classifieds. Every once in awhile someone in the US puts up an old SD for sale. Don't expect to get it at a hefty discount, though. SDs hold their value.

There are also some mods being built in the U.S. I think the Zi Moshi is one. Zi Moshi Home It's got quite a following, although I don't know how feasible it is right now since the owner is going to be out of the country for a couple of months in another week or so.

Or you could wait for the Prodigy to come on line (PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For PV's, Parts, & Accessories!). Like Elendil, I'm content to let others test drive that one for me. I'd be surprised if it's not great, though.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Looks like Ill be saving up for a bit :p

So this conversion tells me Im going to need $141 for it, plus ~$15 more for shipping..
XE.com - UCC Error

So, is it worth it?
Would you wager its at least 3x better than the typical ~$50 DSE901?

No. Actually, it's far better than 3x. :D

Consider the Janty Stick as well. $80 plus shipping.

You can se my review of the Stick vs the SD here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/jantyusa/19527-elendils-early-stick-review-comparison-sd.html

Does anyone have the new black SD? What is the finish like? Does it seem like it will rub off over time?

Look at the pic in my sig line. I've had it for 60 days, it will not rub off at all............. The metal is actually black I believe.........

I don't have the black one, although I sure wish I did. :(

As for the batteries and whether they're protected or not, I really have no idea. And if they aren't, I'd probably be just as happy not knowing. Ignorance is bliss and all that. Just kidding . . . kind of.

I seem to remember reading that they're not, but that one could possibly buy protected batteries, but they might not fit quite as well since they're larger. Hmmm . . . maybe I should try to find some of those batteries and see.

Some great information there.

After reading your SD vs JS post, I have to say I am impressed.
Sound like exactly what Im looking for, the bigger harder hit.
Thats the reason iv been sticking to clove cigarettes :D

But after reviewing the site, they just look ugly IMO.
Once I get some more experience vaping my perception will likely shift quite a bit, for instance right now I cant see myself dealing with a manual draw, though it appears to be the favorite for long time vaperers.

Ill be checking the classifieds, thanks for the tips guys.

Trog specifically recommends unprotected batteries. The charger that comes with the SD has protection and will not overcharge the battery. You would not over discharge it because the performance of the SD will drop so much before you ever get to that point

I just saw that Totally Wicked is getting a few SDs in by the 10th.
If I had the money for it I would buy it right now, even though theyre marked up by like $15

Wow, trog is spreading his wings a little..................I would guess thay would have to be more expensive through TW than from trog directly??

It will be interesting to see what the warranty is on it when purchased through TW.................
