Ok, it should be obvious, but I'm not one who pays attention to the obvious.
I have some Aromamizer Plus tanks and got the velocity deck for them.
I cleaned them, twirled up some coils, noticed the resistance was weirdly high. Then it started changing. Took the coils out and inspected the insulator, it looked fine. Chalked it up to a funky build box.
Put it on my mod, same bouncing resistance.
Replaced grub screws. Same moving resistance.
Took the coils out and replaced it with a store bought coil of known resistance. No joy.
Finally, as the deck was laying on my table, I noticed the 510 pin screw on the bottom of the deck.
It was about one turn loose on both. Tighten them, presto, good resistance readings.
When all else fails, check the obvious.
