Dan, I'm curious... Regarding the BFG... What makes that a genesis atty?

I thought stainless steel mesh wick was the whole point of the genesis.

Maybe I misunderstood that actually, not sure.

In the video he mentions he's still trying to figure out how to put SS in it. So for now it's not really a Genisis style atty.

Ok about the BFG, asdaq was correct. It stands for Bottom Feed Genny or genisis. This is a replacable coil atomizer designed for bottom fed PVs. Since it does not require a tank it is quite small. It will interesting to see how it performs on a REO.
Here are some pics:

And a vid:
I do not own a bottom feeder PV, so I had to drip instead, the etra wick hangs down and soaks up what hits the coil and runs down. The center tube prevents liquid from going back into the juice resivor. We will see how it works when my tester reports back. I think this is the first of its kind. Ok on to the show!

Ok vid in the next post... messing with the pics, everything is overlapped.

Dan

I will take 10 No Joke.

Hey Dan what kind of stainless do you use? I see you do a lot of small taping, we use 303 at work and the 4-40 taps cry when i go to tap something, I don't even attempt 0-80.

I use the 303 from mcmaster Carr, the smallest hole I tap is 2-56, and I use lots of oil and go slow. The 0-80 is a .096 ezloc threaded insert. I drill the hole 1/8 deep x .094 wide and press the insert in, when I screw the screw in it spreads the insert bottom legs and it will not come out. So now you know how I am doing it.

No you are correct, that is why I said genny referring to a work horse. But I have been making so many Genisis mods that I fell on to my own trap of thinking. So currently it is not a Genisis mod, just replaceable coil for bottom feeders. So a BFR? Bottom Feed Replaceable.

Dan I had converted one of your early DSUs into a dripper type for quick testing of different flavors. This BFR isn't far from that. just need to adapt it to use something like the auto vape system. A small SS tube just over the wick to drop a drip or two onto the SS wick roll. It would be great in a box mod with a small bottle to squeeze a drop into it.

How about just making a vertical ss wick so the feed needle runs up through the center of it and drips it at the top edge.

It would need a way to drain the over drips back into the bottle.
But one would be going from wet to dry all the time just like with a dripper/bottom feeder. the standard Scubagen V3 would feed consistently.

A small bed of standard wicking material for the bottom of the ss wick to sit in... might work good???

I did that, it does work. in fact I packed the entire coil chamber with filler at one point and it would hold 30 drops and pull the vapor up through the saturated filler just fine.

Recess for the wick to sit in and a needle size o-ring to stop backflow down into the mod???

Hey All,,,

I happen to have an extra Brand new ScubaGenV3 Kit from the 2nd COoP that I haven't used yet, I would like to know if anyone has thought of a way to make this Mod so the liquid sits up top with the wick on the bottom. This way it is gravity fed like the G-Tanks are. It's just a thought I had and thought this ScubaGenV3 would be cool if I could build it upside down. Any thoughts on this ???

I guess I'm just not understanding all of this....

Why would you want to try to put one on a bottom feeder...other than just saying you could do it? The Scubagen IS a bottom feeder. The wicking system in the Genisis style atty is designed to wick so you don't have to press bottles to fill....it does that for you. Completely effortless vaping....no hassles. I REALLY have to try to vape mine dry...and has to be at higher volts.

Just my opinion.....that's all...

NO, not put it on a bottom feeder at all, have it so the liquid is in the top tank, and feeds down to the wick, I hope you understand me better on this, NOT a bottom feeder mod at all, but just liquid in the top tank like a G-Tank and build it upside down kind of, got me,,, so it gravity feeds like a G-Tank. I am only asking because I think it would be cool if it could be built like this some way.
