I have won the battle learning how to use my sgv3. It is really great. AWESOME.
I couldn't seem to get it to stop shorting out...I added a 1/4" diameter piece of corrugated black tubing around the entire stem. It's PERFECT. Perhaps a stray ss thread?? Perhaps the wick was touching the metal just as it came out of the top? Not sure..but it solved all my problems. And it looks like I have a drip shield inside the tank. Looks fabulous. Works great!

Okay from the context of what you are saying I think the problem is that I am making it much more difficult than it is. I will play with the app a bit till I get a better feel for it.
I gifted my all black reo grand to a friend for his birthday, no regrets there. But since this BFG came up, I think I may pick up another one in silver. With the precise+ line, a reo grand, and Dan's attys. I should be done with buying hardware. I think at least
Can we substitute Kanthal for the two coils in a dual coil and it work?
Also, any one try the twisted wire method that they use on the Ultibox for their Genesis mods?

Now that I think of it the DC idea probably won't work because I remember reading that the pos and neg connection needs to be very close to the actual coil...
Led, if your talking about the Les coil, Im going to give that a shot on my next coil replacement. I have my spring post bent inward towards the wick on the SGV3. Its been vaping great at 1.6 ohms im afraid to mess with it 
There's some posts about dual coils in the last co-op thread. I think you just need to use a non-resistance wire between the coils. I have 2 kits I'm not using so I'm planning on giving this a shot myself.

Dan made a dc from one of his scubagens...it hit like a cannon...it is do-able...there were pics too...I'll look for the post...
Dan you are the Man. This BF is awesome it really puts out the vapor. I couldn't believe how easy it was the change out the coil. I didn't need to but wanted to see if I could do it. Well if I can anyone can.LOL Here are some pictures just to have a comparison in size to the dca and a drip shield wow so small great rebuildable atty. It bottoms feeds really well and I love that it is a great dripper atty as well. I will play with it some more and report back but so far win, win. WHOOHOO!!

I've been refilling my SGV3 with an 18g syringe. I get about 75% full and it starts pouring out of the top wick. Looks like the wick is acting as a straw and pushing out juice to equalize pressure. Any tips on how to refill w/o making such a mess? Pinch the wick at the bottom, smaller gauge needle?
