Ok everyone....finally took the time to try out a dual wick in my SG3! Trying it out with 325 mesh though.

Couldn't get the kanthal to wrap tightly around the silver wire, so I cut one of the wires off of a CE2 and twisted it together between
the two coils. Still trying to break it in. ProVari says its 3.0ohms....not sure what it would really be. At 5v, its putting out decent flavor...but no where near as much vapor as I was expecting. I'll post my thoughts in a couple of days.

my g-tank'a coil is more than a month old already. 1.8ohm on my ggts or my evercool mod@4.2v.
just rinse with hot water every other day with about 4 fills a day. still vapes like day 1.
how did you manage to kill it in 4-5 days?

I also use 32 Kanthal A1 but only on stainless steel wicks, ss does not wet the coil as much and you have to leave the legs of the coil a little longer so you don't short between the posts. The positive leg of the coil 0n 6v tends to pop if it gets dry. I really don't mind as I can change a coil in minutes and the health advantage of ss over fiberglass or silica is worth the effort.

I use a bulli A2 with horizontal wick, looking forward to the G-tank with a vertical wick.

hey riddle you did wire the 2 coils in parallel right...also I do know kanthal is notoriously hard to solder so that could also make your joint between the 2 coils have problems

Looks like he did them in series, here is the differance I have found:

Right Dan....this set up is in series. The next one I will try in parallel. I just set it up the way I saw the dual coil cartos wired up. Would probably have been easier to put together in parallel.

Bear in mind that in series, voltage is split. 6ohms in series, means 2x 3ohm coils. Now, with voltage split, even at 6v you would only be giving 3v to each coil. A 3ohm coil @3v isn't going to offer much.

UA72Riddle,

The Silver Wire link in the first post is dead. I believe that it's changed to this;

.999 Fine Silver 18 Gauge Round Dead Soft Wire

Ok, hopefully most will understand why I am starting this thread. I wanted to see a thread that could focus on the building and technical parts of Scubatdan's mods. I didn't want to see it get lost iN a CO-OP thread and Wanted to make it easier to find in a search.

Thanks for mentioning it....I'll see if the mods can fix it for us.

@ Dalton....on the Provari it registers as 3ohm.....so I guess each coil is around 1.5 ohm. I'm trying to set it up in parallel, but the extra wire glows because of the distance in between the post. I just had too much extra...going to try it again.

Excellent!!!
Check out my video on making the wick, to get a good vape the first time you need to pre-season the wick well to ensure no shorting.

the bf is going to be a must have!

Right now we're all trying to make sure Dan doesn't take an out-of-pocket loss on the US G-tank atty co-op because that's just totally unacceptable.

I'm so in for a couple BFGs!
