While waiting for my G-tank US to arrive I decided to refine my dual coil setup on my SGv3

It seems to be working well so far.

Dual Coils Installed.jpg

4-40 All-thread for center, soldered to a CE2XL center post (True Value didn't have anything smaller in the length I needed...)
M2 x 16 screws for the negative posts (head cut off and soldered into roll pins)

I will be trimming the excess thread on the posts to clean it up a bit after I am satisfied with it.

I was inspired by Darkreign and decided to try something a bit different. I haven't put in the screen or coils yet but I multi-metered it with a 5.0 volt load and it tested it fine. I pulled the post from the CE-2 and threaded in a 6-32 brass rod with 3/16" X 1" nylon spacers top and bottom. I threaded the nylon spacers to the 6-32 threading of the rod (kind of a pain) but it is a solid foundation for the top post and the 510 connection at the bottom. This gives a solid core for the positive post and seals the center hole. The two outer posts are now for ground attachment for two seperate coils and are threaded 6-32 into the stainless platform.

Tus172, that is really nice. I have been considering this myself. Waiting by to hear how it preforms.

I had time to finish up the unit last night and it really performs very well. I did 4 wraps per wick with 32ga kanthal vaping at 5 volts and man it produces very well. When I get time over the weekend I will take a pic of it in action. ON my other SG v3 I will probably use .5" of the 3/16" nylon spacer for bottom and top because threading 1" to 6-32 threading really was a pain. Other thatn that I am now away from any epoxies and the core of the Sg v3 is now sealed from any juice. I have noted that the voltage at the coils is better also.

I like my Scubagenv3 little big but i like it. Mine came already built and was wondering how would one go about taking out and then replacing the 510 connector thats seems press fitted into the bottom stainless cap do i need a lathe or ?
Options are nice thanks in advance.

All you need is a battery mod (like an old ego or something) that you don't mind taking the chance of ruining, screw it on, and start wiggling it back and forth as you are trying to pull it off. But be forwarned....if you mess up the positive connection, you will need the parts and tools to rebuild.....spring, nail, etc.

Thanks UA,
1 more question does that connector have the positive connection soldered to it ?
I can do the soldering if thats the case.
Thanks

Yes it does. It's usually a ce2 connector and the pos. wire is soldered to the center tube which is also the airflow.

No problem. Normally the pos wire is soldered to the outside of the center tube of the connector to allow air flow to the coil. This also allows the liquid from condensation to leak out the bottom like a ce2 does. There's different ways to fix this if it bothers you. It did bother me so I tried some different things and finally just soldered the wire inside the pos tube of the ce2 cutting off the air and the leak then drilled a small hole in the side of the top cap positioned a little lower and pointed at the coil. This works very well for me, no more blowing it out every five minutes. There's another configuration I'm working on that should be as good or better. The great thing about this Atty is it's not only rebuildable, it's customizable. U wick, J wick, straight wick, dual coil straight wicks and so on....

Have fun!

Robert
