If you did not order a ScubaGenV3 from Dan's Co-Op do not PM me!

I am offering a Spring Pin for each ScubaGenV3 for this Co-Op only.

You will need to send me a self addressed stamped envelope along with a small baggie, if possible, as the pin is tiny.

I have Dan's list so I will know how many to send.

If you want one, send me a PM with "Spring" in the subject field.

I will PM you back with the instructions.

I have 500 pieces, so there is enough for everyone.

.......................................................................................

I'm working on getting the other Co-Op hooked up with these for free.

Edit to add;

It's official.

At least one Spring Pin will be included with each ScubagenV3 for the other Co-Op.

See the following post for details.

I have one of those torch kits and am just getting used to it for soldering. I'm liking it more as time goes by....

I got the same one. Love my micro torch, so many uses for it. Bug problem? No problem! Why use dangerous chemicals? Torchem! Have bread that needs toasting? Torchit!

That's a good idea! Got any extra? lol

Robert

Again!

I'm using a "Spring Pin" to secure the negative terminal to the Scunagen body.

I had to grind down one end of the Spring Pin at least 3/32" or 0.09375".

I pressed the side of the the spring pin that I didn't grind into the negative hole on the Scubagen.

I tinned the inside of the sping pin and then tinned the nail.

I pressed the nail into the sping pin while applying a little heat to melt the solder.

Once the solder started to melted and the nail slid into the spring pin I removed the heat and had to hold tension on the nail to ensure that the spring remained slightly compressed untill the solder hardend.

I show a piece of 32 AWG Kanthal secured to the negative post.

Please note:

The spring in this picture was compressed to tight and I had to loosen it up.

Ya I'm jus gonna stuff all kinds of copper down it, smash the nail down with a ball pein hammer and call it a day. Oh yeah and torch some solder into it.

For the folks that have finished, what ohms are ya makin ur coil? I'm thinking either 3 or 4 since I gots the provari 4 would be mpre surface area

for those using copper wire or other copper components make sure to cover the exposed copper with silver solder...copper, juice, and electricity and then vaping the results could go very badly...I used silver wire...just to be on the safe side...My lungs and nervous system are wonky enough...lol

for those who do not know...look here...but there are lung toxicity effects involving oxidized copper...

You used silver wire, I am assuming you made some insulation for it with shrinkwrap perhaps?

my coil is wrapped 5 times. I vape at around 4.2V. I was at 3.7 in my video.

yes, my husband uses silver solder & used the heat shrink tubing thing like the instructions said. Our copper wire is already coated though. My husband even has PINK & LAVENDER!! At first I screamed at him because he used RED of all colors on my first scubagen.........then he showed me that the wire wouldn't be seen anyways. :)

Yup...No likey sparx...in the automotive work I do half the problems I fix are due to someone installing a stereo and not at least taping all the wires they spliced...

I get Ideal brand syringes at Tractor Supply, meant to mention that earlier.
yea i get mine a Orscheln farm supplies store. 20ml and it does not matter this one time if its luer lock or slip i have both and in this size they are the same id. got to make sure you bevel the edge a little and i made the bottom tube a tiny bit short to give the top extra stability since the plastic is thinner.

I agree 100%

Just say no to copper (exposed anyway :)). Raw copper + vaping = :( vaper

I got my scubagen all together last night. Fun stuff :) I went to test it and of wouldn't you knw....not enough oxidation on the mesh. I have a short on the coil/mesh. at least it will be easy to take apart and re-oxidize the mesh :)

I'm usually good with oxidizing too...it was late though and I wanted to try so I hurried the oxidation process and of course got a bad result. Will be scubavaping later for sure though.

These came out really really nice. Thanks again Dan and everyone else who helped along the way.
