I may on the external ones, but am limited on the internal to 1/16" walls.
Dan

As long as no one uses a tool to pry around the edges of the tubes it shouldnt be a problem. I have been using pyrex and quartz tubes for over a year now with no problems. I use the quartz the most...but you know the prices of that stuff. Just may have to control the heat more in thinner tube as the wall will get toasty fast.

One thing that I tested and it worked well is to use .1875" shrink tube as insulation around the stems of the wick instead of relying on the plastic Bic tubes... I was having a problem feeding my wick into the Bic tubes so I opted to try the shrink tube over the wick. It tightens down great and is more forgiving if you happen to wrap your wick a little thick. It grips the wick tightly enough so that you know it is going to stay in place, yet you can slide it up or down to adjust where it is on your wick.
In case you are considering... From McMaster Carr: _________________ Stock #_____ 6"___ 48"

This is high temperature PTFE shrink tubing.

Well I attempted to make the center tube out of pyrex last night. I have one successful piece made out of three attempts and of course it broke when it grabbed the oring and I tried to force it into place. Will try again when I get back from my sisters wedding in Illinois this weekend.

I am getting the pyrex melting process down though. Got the ends fire polished real nice and the taper was pretty easy. My besomatic quick fire butane torch reaches 1700 degrees F, glad I have welders gloves, cause you definantly need them when working with this stuff!

Did you use pyrex for the outer tube as well? Is your DSU now cinnamon safe? :D

Wel I am at work and did not take pics, so I do not have any right now, or you know I would!
Dan

You at work?????? BS!!!!!!! You should give up work and start modding for a life. I'm quite sure it would be far more profitable than just ordinary plain old work. Sounds boring in any case. Quit and get modding. I will help you with the resignation letter. PM me.

Ever more money in the defense industry. :) about a $2.5 Trillion world wide.

I'm sure Dan has seen ridiculous spending, and understands why are taxes are so damn high.

I know I have.
