Just saw it on the local news.... Didn't realize the vote was tonight!

Why didn't this get an URGENT TONIGHT thread?

I'm up in Westminster getting work done in my car... I'd have gone down there had I known.

Sent from my mobile, using Tapatalk... so ignore the typos. ;)

I just happened to see it in the news feed and I posted it. Since I'm not in that area, I don't usually know what's going on with the local legislation. If I see something like this again, I will add the urgent wording to the post.

Are you able to find out what happened at the council meeting?

In a way, the shops did it to themselves. How many of the shops there strictly sell e-nic devices? The 2 vape shops I know of in my area are also head shops. I won't do business with them and wouldn't care if they get shut down. I'm guessing many shops in southern California are also dual-purpose shops, rather than being strictly e-nic stores.

Very few shops in CA are dual use like that... yes, some of the head shops sell ecig stuff... but the vaping stores very rarely carry anything but eCigs and supplies.(there are rare exceptions, like I'll note below)

I also will not do business with any shop that is dual use... not that I have anything against people who choose to partake in *other things*, but I don't want local authorities to have any more reason to question the practice or business of vaping.

In fact, At the recent grand opening on Vapor Labs in Costa Mesa, I went and picked up some juice(20% off)... after completing my purchase I noticed they also carry a line of vaporizers for "dry plant matter"... I will not be patronizing that store again... and, now that I look at their website and see it is also for sale there... I will likely stop giving the entire chain my business.

But over all, I'd say 80% or more of the Vaping stores in So Cal are eCig only... and we have dozens... may even be into the hundreds now.

...

This is what I Don't Like seeing with e-Liquids. An Association between those using "Plant Matter" and those Using e-Cigarettes.

Where as NORML jumping in at the Last Minute and Denouncing CA SB-648 may have saved the Day, I think in Many Ways it Invalidates the HRT aspects of e-Cigarettes in Some Peoples Eyes.

That sucks big time. :(

It saddens me that some still consider medical weed as nothing but a recreational toy. There is way too much bias, propaganda, lies, and downright Puritanicalismsismsts out there.
Sure, many strains are rec, for parties, for unwinding with instead of using alcohol (which often produces violence) but thats for that and not for the cancer, diabetics, ADHD, depression, multiple sclerosis, neurological, and so many other ailments & diseases that it is COMMONLY used for.
Go to YouTube and find "the best MaryJane documentary ever" ( except with proper spelling) and learn what REALLY goes on and how ecigs are related in so many ways. Do it. Educate yourselves so you can educate others.

I am a Firm Believer that MMJ should be Judged on it's Own Merits and In Totality.

And whatever Ill Perceptions of it, either Real or Imaginary, shouldn't spill over Onto e-Cigarettes.

We having a Hard Enough Battle as is getting e-Cigarettes Commonly Expected. Seems like we Don't Need to Acquire any more additional Baggage in this Fight.

I was going to stop by there this weekend. I think I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't have a problem with the above mentioned plant matter, bit would rather see a clearer separation between the two industries.

I find it odd that more and more cities are proposing legislation that would ban e-cigarette stores and head shops.

For years, since the 70's at least, there were head shops everywhere in Ca. Now that ecig stores are opening, and everyone is trying to ban ecigs, are these new bans set to hurt the oldie headshops or the new ecigs? Are they afraid of an ecig store selling a Headshops item or are they suddenly afraid that the Headshops will sell ecig items? As long as the Headshops have been around....
