Seen this over on Discountvapers and was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it? I can't find much info or reviews, other then its under-priced and underrated.

Segelei Variable Voltage Tube - Silver

Seems like a good deal for 29 bux, being all metal and not plastic. Not much on specs though...

Is it worth the money or should I get something more well known, like a uniq lava 3.0 or Lambo mini?

Currently using ego-t batteries w/ dual coil LR carts, but was planning on upgrading to something rebuildable soon, like a clone genesis / phoenix or vivi atty.

I picked one up in black when my Vmax broke. Knowing Erics@dv quick shipping and the help they offered at the discount vaper subforum I took the chance. Works like a champ and used my 18350 batteries I already had on hand.
I feel like it doesn't get the battery life of the vmax but I get solid day out of it and thats plenty enough for a spare.
I'll definitely be picking up a second one eventually. The way I see it it's no frills but works like it should.

I see that they sell 700 mah 18350s for $9. I only have 18650s, so I'll have to buy some. Madvapes has 800 mah button and flat top 18350s for $5 and $3 respectively. I'd rather have the more mah for cheaper if they'd work. I'm guessing that since DV only carries the button tops, that these are what the mod requires. Your thoughts...

Ended up getting everything for a steal! The batteries were free as well as a few extras from madvapes ($15 rebate amex prepaid card), and the charger I got nearly free with ebay bucks.

So all in all made out like a bandit, 34 bux out of pocket! :D

Thanks again to everyone who replied in the thread!

That's awesome twolazy, let me know how those batteries work out! Madvapes also had a charger for around $5 that would charge multiple types of batteries. My charger is only for an 18650, so I'll need to upgrade if I decide to try this lil guy out too.

Fyi it's far from little... longer then my Vmax.. :)

I need a gripper!! I choose Vmax over gripper and kind of sort of regret.

Don't regret it at all. The gripper is cheap plastic and horribly made. It's about as cheap as cheap can be. I can pull out the 510 connection very easily now, as it won't stay in place, and I put the zipper handle from my carto/juice bag into the battery door to show you how it will not close properly. It's been set down 1 once a little too hard, and fallen off a table onto carpet another time, and the door will not close properly at all now. Each time it got a little worse. I can't wait to get something else so I can rip this apart and make a better mod out of it's guts.

Oh damn thats horrible looking!
Though I'm on my second vmax after the first broke within 23 days :)

Thats not as bad as my Lambo that supposedly came with a 90 day warranty from Vapure, I went into their store here in San Diego and they basically told me to suck it even though I owned the thing for less than 60 days when I tried to return it after it not working for about a month.

Well upon first impressions, not being able to use it yet, I am pretty happy!

The unit seems well made, much better then I would have expected, which was along the lines of a cheap Chinese flashlight mod. The finish itself is a little thin, but the powdercoat seems pretty durable. The 510 connector seems pretty rigid. Wish this thing had an ego connector but for the price I cannot complain, since adapters are cheap. One downside I see thus far is lack of a manual. Guessing its just voltage control and 5 taps for on/off functions. I'll try to track down the manual for the Ovale V8.

The EH LiMH flat tops from madvapes seem to fit nicely. Sadly I guess there isn't enough juice to power on the unit without recharging them. This is where I am stuck atm, waiting on the charger which should be here 2mar or Tuesday. Until then I just get to torture myself looking at it. I so should have paid the extra few bucks for the charger when I ordered the batteries. Alas, could been using it right now if I had, but thats life. I will provide a much more in depth review of the device once I have some charged batteries. =)

Does the Segelei Variable Voltage Tube Mod only work with flat top batteries?

Another user in the thread uses the Vmax button top batteries, so button tops will also work if same dimensions.

Edit: Turns out the batteries are charged enough for the unit to come on. The flat cells aren't touching properly when stacked. Had the unit working for a brief second with no atomizer, using a flat washer between, and some electric tape wrapped around to prevent a short to the unit body. Guess I will have to order magnets too now. Sigh. I just ordered another set of flat tops too...

So in the meantime, I'll fashion up a spacer out of a poker chip or bottle cap w/ a copper/brass center.
