Was in a bar last night with the significant other. Some drunk fella literally waddled over and started giving me grief because he wanted to beg a cigarette. He picked up on the fact I have a e-cig and figured he'd give me "grief" as that meant my other half wouldn't/couldn't possibly be a smoker.

He was drunk, I'm stating it as it was.

She "got him" and gave him a cigarette. He threw a 50p piece at me and muttered something. This was the point all three of us left the bar (if you get me).

Yeah.

Smoking is normal, vaping gets some folks wound up.

First time I've come across aggression as a result, but I won't forget that night for a while.

I actually feel that way a little. It was worse the first few times. Its becoming easier though. Now Im not so worried. Its just become part of me. Yesterday I vaped in the mall (avoiding crowded areas) and no one said a word. I did get curious looks but nothing that looked upset. There was even a mall employee vaping in the middle of the mall at his Vape stand! :)

Thanks to all y'all. I am a 6'4" bald head long beard 300 lb biker looking guy. You'd think I wouldn't give two pieces of poo but walking around puffing on Harry Potters digital wand had me a touch timid. The wood mod looks awesome. I might have to go that route when this battery dies.

My sister says people in other cars look at her like she's smoking something illegal, but I think it's just her, fretting over the newness of it all, when we go out together, she see's me carry my MVP everywhere...restaurants, stores, etc...so now she does also.

Today, we went to Arby's for lunch. As we were standing in line waiting, an employee; a young black girl, walked by us and commented "oh, I have one of those"....I pointed to my sister who had her's on a lanyard and said, "yeah, her too!) The girl just smiled. So in the last, I'd say, 3 weeks we've had more and more people comment that they too, have a setup. The more you are "out there", the more accepted they will become, so WEAR IT PROUD!!!!!

Yah know I vape while driving and I just laugh at the looks I get! I think of it this way, at least I'm not smoking!! When I first brought my mod to my mom's I was wondering what she would say and she was over joy ed I quit smoking and embraced vaping! She even let me vape in her house witch is amazing if you knew my mother! So it does not really matter to me what strangers think of me when they see me vape! All I know is I'm not smoking and that's a miracle! Vape on!

Actually I command a degree of fear and respect when I am toting dual lightsabers mods like Luke SkyWalker. using the G Case to secure my tube mods. Some run and flee, others bough in respect. lmao.

I worried about it more when I was actually smoking because I didn't want anyone to have to be subjected to the secondhand smoke. Now I'm not worried at all.

I agree but I'm still worried. Worried about the uneducated masses that seem to dominate this country. That are seeing "us" as some sort of demonic people.

I'd like to vape "loud and proud" as so many profess to do, even my husband, who still smokes, thinks I should do.

Maybe I just don't want the confrontation, I don't know what it is.

I vape mainly where smoking is allowed but take the occasional vape hit where needed.

And yes, I DO vape in my car and home!

I sill feel somewhat self-conscious vaping a mod in my car when others can see me. If I am using an e-cig, I don't have a problem, but occasionally when someone sees me vaping a large mod with an extended drip tip, I feel like they think I am smoking [MODERATED] or something. Having a relatively small ego setup or similar, wouldn't be much of a problem, but I don't think I will ever be comfortable puffing on a larger unit in front of the general public.

Am I the only one that feels a bit odd puffing away on these things. Vanity sucks. Hahaha

It's an adjustment, that's all. I'm going through the same thing, almost a month into it now. I can vape places I never used to be able to smoke. I never allowed myself to smoke indoors or in the car. I honestly hated the smell, even when I was smoking a pack a day. Now I can vape in the car (the looks you sometimes get are going to be priceless, just roll with it lol), I can vape at my desk. I don't have to go outside and freeze or sweat to get my nicotine fix.

I don't look for attention or vape to be noticed. I follow the same guidelines I had when I was smoking. I don't blow vapor in people's faces, I don't feel the need to vape at the store or the library even if it's not going to hurt anyone, especially with the intent of making a statement. I don't feel superior for vaping instead of smoking cancer sticks, I do feel healthier and happier with myself though. That's why I like vaping and that's why I'll continue to do it for a very long long time. Stick with it and live a long happy life, you're going to get increasingly comfortable with it. :)
