Now would be the time for all the actors to rethink their game plan. Appeal to this new President and supporting majority to live up to their promise to constrain and reduce regulation. Let's get in line people. No ticket, no lunch.

Extract vaping from tobacco legislation.

Good luck. :)

That is great news that Senator Johnson was re-elected! Remember that Trump has often repeated he was 'Getting Rid of All Job Killing Regulations'. I think it's fair to say that the vaping industry, comprised of small businesses that are being wiped out by government regulation, is a poster child for Trumps mantra.
Hopefully Johnson and Trump agree to shut down the deeming regs as they are currently implemented.

Having been a bit involved in Wisconsin politics, I know people that personally know Johnson

Based on what I've been told about the man, the FDA is in for an interesting time (in the Chinese curse sense of the word)
I very much hope that this is true. Personally I'm going to give him some slack for easing up with pressure on the FDA the last couple of months due to him having to focus on getting re-elected. But now the elections are over I'm waiting to see what he does. With that Stool Sample Pence as the VP Elect Johnson may get a bit of flak, but let's see.

I think the FDA's pre-election snubbing of Senator Johnson's requests (FDA did make one throw-away sniffy response to him) was because they hoped (and expected) that Johnson would not be able to keep his senate seat. With Johnson gone, FDA could continue more smoothly along the path to destruction of the vaping industry.

How wrong the FDA was about that.

I hope the powers-that-be at FDA are equally wrong in assuming their horrific deeming regulations will stay in place as written. Or that they, themselves, will retain their cushy positions.

Get'em, Johnson.

...

Very True.

You can Also throw in that Many of the Media "Talking Heads" predicted the possibility of the Majority in the Senate changing. And that would effect the Majorities in Committee Majorities.

And, of course, Simple Majority Votes when Senators vote along Party Lines.

This was exactly my feeling. They were stonewalling with the hope that Johnson would lose his seat. In fact, it was predicted early on that he was behind and in danger of losing. The FDA was counting on him losing.

Now that he is there for another term, I hope they are :censored: in their pants.

I'd like to see them put That in their pipe and smoke it

We're all thrilled that Senator Johnson won! And he has written to Leader McConnell about the Cole Bishop language. But the decision on whether to allow all current products to stay on market or be banned has been postponed until March.

And it will be decided by Congress. Not FDA, not the courts. And Ron Johnson can't do it without 59 other Senators and a load of House members.

We MUST keep the pressure on them between now and March. Please do something..... spend one tenth of the energy we spend on stockpiling to make sure no one ever has to stockpile again. Call your rep/Senator in DC. Ask who handles FDA and their email. And tell your story to them and ask that they change the predicate date in March spending bill.

We bought more time, have a more friendly administration, and now we need to put it over the top!

Who's with me?????

It doesn't really matter much who here is with you.
In this particular subforum you are preaching directly to the choir.

What matters is that the "faces" on social media are with you.
What matters is that SFATA and CASAA and the like are with you.

Because in the end, those folks are going to help influence the vendors to be with you.

And the vendors really need to be with you, and motivated to do something.
Because it is they who can influence their customer base to be with you.

And that's how we put it over the top.

I have given up even trying to get the members of the ECF into being informed about what's happening.
I'm going to just shut my mouth and bury my head in the sand like most people these days.
Time to take a break for me!
Sorry, rant over

I know how you feel brother. I'm the lobbyist for SFATA, and the retail and manufacturers are all involved and doing all they can. But when you try to motivate those actual vapers.... they want someone else to do it. Even the old guys! It's crazy! They'll stockpile $5000 worth of crap, but won't fight for the right to not have to do it.

Ok, let me have it from the couch fellas.

You do realize that when you post here, in this section, of this forum, you're posting to the 1% of vapers who do actually fight, right?

Pardon me for perhaps appearing the deadhead…but what exactly is it we're fighting for at this juncture? Can someone articulate it in three points or less.

Good luck. :)

Support of the Cole-Bishop Amendment (to the Agricultural Appropriations Bill) that would change the predicate date to 8-Aug-2016 (I believe).

Basically, to call our reps (House & Senate) asking them to support the CB Amendment (or it may get stricken from the bill).

It wouldn't completely stop the blood-letting (since some have already closed), but it may save some companies, and it would allow us to continue buying and using things that were available up to that date.
