I'm having the worst 3 days in vaping out of the 2 months that ive been doing it! Everything is flooding/leaking or tasting burnt!!! I have ONE clearomizer out of 6 that is giving me a good vape. All of the clearos that i have are from smokeless image. I have 2 vivi nova's and a 5 pack of FLUX Pheonixs from got vapes. My batteries are: 4 V4L diamond series slim batteries, 2 V4L EGO (non vv) batteries and 1 smoktech 510 EGO (non vv) My juices: a couple of 100% PG bottle from V4L, a couple 100 VG from V4L, 4 bottles from madvapes (the website says its 80vg/20pg but its runny as hell) 2 bottles from gotvapes (flux nectar) @ 70pg/30vg.

I know how to fill each tank/clearo correctly. I dont get juice in the air tubes. On the CE2's i use the syringe on the correct holes, i dont overfill and i let them sit for a bit to wick up.

Every CE2 gets juice in the air tube when i vape or tastes burnt or both. All of the clearos save for one get juice in the air tube when I vape them.

I dont understand what the problem is! Why can't i find a reliable product out there? and WHY is no one else having these problems when I do everything exactly as Im instructed to do!

The ONLY thing that hasnt let me down has been a Greensmoke kit that i bought using their prefilled cartos. Buying prefilled costs too much because ill go through 2-3 cartos a day and re-using them is sketchy.

Please someone help me figure this out before I give up on this alltogether and admit to wasting a couple of hundred dollars on products that everyone claims work so well.

Long answer: Well first of all, DON'T GIVE UP. I have been doing this on and off for over two years. It wasn't until I got my Silver Bullet from AltSmoke with some Low Res 510 atomizers for dripping that I truly fell in love. That was almost 2 months ago, and now I am waiting for my Provari to be shipped so I can have that Variable Voltage vape that I hear so much about. But really if I had to leave a burning house in a hurry, I would grab a bottle of juice and my Silver Bullet with the LR 510 atty. Drip, Drip, Drip all day long. I have tried multiple cartomizers, a vivi nova v2.5 and some stardusts and IMO they all suck. Nothing that I have owned comes close to dripping. Now I am looking into Atomizer Tanks. The 1 that I know of from NHaler.com sounds interesting, the Reactor tank. But at $67 I am not sold just yet. I want to "use" some of the crappy carto's and the fantastick atomizers that I have first before I buy more stuff. I would also like a Penelope, but that is $122. Just yesterday I bought my wife an Ego C Twist 650mah and although she is not ready to quit the analogs just yet, she was amazed at how good it was using a standard resistance 510 Joyetech atomizer. Previously all she had used were crappy 901 kits and an EgoT clone which was horrible.

I just realized how much I typed and thought I would summarize!

Short Answer: Put a Low Res atomizer on your ego's and drip. Flavor and vapor will be amazing and there is almost nothing to break/fiddle with. Clean, simple and it works. Then if you want to try some of those clearomizers, vivi's etc... you can, but get a good drip setup first and compare all tank type systems against dripping. Most will fail, but fun to try.

I have a kgo 1100mah and the ego twist 900mah. I use the vivi nova and dct tanks without problem. I know it is hard finding a juice that you like that's why I make my own. The stick batteries are not the best and I don't know why people push them so hard on here. Try a twist w/vivi nova using 2.4 ohm head and a decent juice and your probs will be solved. Do not give up it gets better just takes time.

(((( Bob ))))

I do feel for you . . . being in the UK, I can't really point you to any home Vendors for
eliquid, as that sounds like where a percentage of your problems are coming from?

On the hardware side, Vivi Nova's do need a ' swish ' round every so often to keep those
wicks wet and supplying juice to the coil, otherwise you will get a burnt taste. The same
applies to clearo's.

Have you tried filling them, then just blowing down the tube, on to some kitchen towel
to get rid of any excess juice that may be lurking in it?

Clearos aren't for everyone. Same with tanks. That's why for me, I prefer cartos, tho I use a few different things, cartos are the most reliable for me. You don't have to buy prefilled, just fill them yourself. I like to use the condom filling method for filling cartos the best for at least the first fill, so they are nice and saturated, blow out the middle tube into a kleenex and wipe clean, let sit for at least 10 mins then vape. Then for future refills just drip into the filling. Sometimes I will do a condom fill again if I really want to get it nice and saturated but usually just drip refill. And just keep refilling until the carto does not work anymore or starts tasting funky. I like v4l cartos, smokeless image cartos, and for 510, ressurectors or smoktech LR 510 cartos, or LR boge cartos. Good luck and don't give up!!!

Hey there,

I feel your pain I've had a few weeks pretty damn similar to what your going through. Have you tried using Cartomizers? I find them to be pretty reliable as a matter of fact they are all I've been using for a bit after having bad luck with fluxos and ce2s. With the devices you listed off you would probably want to go with SR (standard resistance) carts... I have used low resistance cartomizers on some of my egos in the past but they eat the batteries a bit quicker, don't give up!

It has nothing to do with finding a flavor I like. I dont use my stick batteries on anything but the CE2's. The problem is leaking. Even ifi blow thru the air tube and clear it. They flood again. and again. As far as the burnt taste. The CE2 clearos are getting the burnt taste while full. Even after they have sat for 20 minutes. They taste burnt. My clearos dont taste burnt they just constantly get juice in the air tube. As far as them not being for everyone. what does that mean? I like them a lot when they dont flood. So they are for people that dont mind having to clean their batteries after every hit?

I have just about all aspects of vaping equipment and from my short experience,it is all a bit fidgity, except cardos. My Vivi Nova is the best tasting delivery system I have but if it gets below 1/2 full,it has to be twirled a bit to wet the wicks.Keep it above 1/2 and its perfect.I have a Penelope and it too is fidgity. My DCTs are fidgity to a point,in that if I use a dual coil cart (not often)the top coil dosent always stay wet enough.I feel your pain my friend but IMHO,all vaping is a tad bit fidgity.I will say this,if I need to vape and just dont want the hassle of fidgity equipment,I'll grab a ST 1.7omh carto and put it on a ego batt and vape till it goes dry...no fuss,no muss

We all have those days that nothing seems to work and juice taste like crap....me I don't worry about it too much and just back off chain vaping for the day and everything goes back to normal the next day. The first time I ran into the wall I almost grabbed a pack of analogs but figured I would just muddle through it and it got better

((Bob)) - I had one of these days last Monday. Could NOT get anything right! Even my juice flavors seemed to be off. Luckily, things were back normal on Tuesday, but it was only one day for me. As frustrating as it was, I never once considered going back to cigarettes.

Are you feeling the same way? I know that is a touchy subject, but we have seen many people here that suddenly stumble on "big problems" with ecigs after their first month or two and seem to use that as justification to return to smoking.

You have some top-notch hardware, so do not understand on how ALL of them are screwing up at the same time. I expect that you will tell me to $%^$# off, and I deserve it, but please don't do the same thing that I did in 2009 and 2010 and go back to the evils.

Got a regular atty to just direct drip on? That will often help temporarily.

(hugs)

I prefer dripping on an atomizer, but recently have discovered the horizontal bottom coil cartomizers and they are great! I never have cared for cartomizers but these are like using an atomizer but with filler to keep the coil moist. The great thing about these are that they DON'T burn because there is no coil going through the filler like regular cartos. I never have cared for clearos either, and I have the phoenix and don't care for those either. But I've been ckg out the different horizontal coil cartomizers online like Kanger and others to get more because these things seem to last forever before filling and you don't have to worry about burning the filler ever. The ones I'm using now are the Volt cartomizers. It's the first time I have ever liked a cartomizer!

[TLDR SUMMARY]
Been there done that. My problem seems to have been a combination of PV and clearo/carto/atty usage. In the end I'm using a ProVari (vtube would have sufficed but scored a sweet deal on a provari) and tank with 3ohm carts mixing my own DIY. Since switching to the vtube/tank/DIY I'm happy as a clam. This works, it just takes some effort and a variable amount of money. It's SOOOO worth it, hang in there!
[/TLDR SUMMARY]

Oh man, I SOOO know the frustration you're feeling! Mine's been particularly bittersweet since my wife joined me on this venture and she has almost NO problems. At first I thought the clearo's were the bomb, then one by one they gunked up on me. Cleaning them isn't too hard, but kind of a PITA. My Vivi Nova sucked but it was used and I think the previous owner burned the F out of it (the tube not just the replaceable atty). Got some G4's, and they were really cool for a day, but the draw was small and I was constantly losing the tips. I went through 3 weeks of a tank setup where I was frying my carts in 2-3days each, wow that was gonna get expensive. Then I started doing the math on my juice cost and whoah... this really started not looking so good. I used EGO-C's and then the EGO-Twists.

After considerable effort, patience, and a hefty sum of cash though I've finally gotten pretty close to nervana. There's one last thing I want and then I believe I'll be completely there.

So, my theories on what was happening to me. On my EGO-C's the clearo's worked fine for a week or so but it lacked the power to clean them when required so I was looking at $7/week just in clearo's. They have rebuildable options now but I'd already moved on. Regardless I still didn't get quite enough vape from the EGO-C to really be satisfied so I got the EGO-Twist. Muhahaha! Life was GOOD now! Only... I was now butchering my clearo's in a day or 2. Sure I could clean them but at the rate I was going this was gonna take a lot of time every week! So then I got a tank with SR Carto's, which gave great vape but I was still burning in 2-3 days. I primed all the time trying to keep the tank wet but kept going from bone dry to moutful of nic and flooded before I knew it. It royally sucked, and was still going to be fairly expensive/annoying.

Ah, that was background, now back to my theory. First I just wasn't satisfied by the 3.4v put out by the EGO-c, otherwise it would have been alright. I also hotbox, chain vape, and do every other manner of cruel thing to my hardware so that was really shortening the lifespan of the clearo's. When I switched to the EGO-Twist I took the voltage setting at face value but it was (tested with a voltage meter) out of calibration and running hotter than I thought. Add to that (measured this also) even without a load on it the voltage output of the twist varies by several tenths of a voltage while you have it fired. So I feel like it was basically pulsing my clearo's/carto's and at a higher voltage than I'd intended = fried. Ah, and my priming problem turned out to be bad o-rings on my tank.

Blah blah blah, ok so where I'm at now. I got a vtube from apollo ($52 to the door = sweet!), fresh SR carto's and my rebuilt tank and life is good. The vtube provides very steady and accurage voltage (at least while not under load, there's another thread in APV about vtube vs. provari which details differences in load conditions). I measured it while not under load side by side with the Twist and the results were remarkable.

Then on the juice side of the equation I was paying $18/30mil from a local shop. Fairly decent rate from what I can tell but still, considering I'm a chain vaper, was getting pretty expensive. So I turned to DIY and am saving a ton. My wife hits a 10mg that I can make for $3.50/30mil, I do a 16-20mg that runs about $5/30mil, and I make a 30mg for my neighbor which costs about $7.50/30mil. If you vape a LOT like we do then DIY is a huge money saver!

So hang in there buddy. I know how you feel about the money. A few years ago I threw down $150 for a look-a-like at the mall which sucked for 3 days and I went back to camels. I was ...... as HELL and despised the entire concept. With this new generation though it's a whole new ball game. Either way, if you're a PAD smoker and smoke $5 cigs then you're up against $1,825/year indefinitely. Say vaping costs 25% of that (the number my calculations lead me to personally) then you're looking at being able to save about $1,378/year. If it costs you a few hundred dollars to figure out how to make this deal work wouldn't it be worth the gamble? That's just the financial aspect, the lifestyle and health ramifications are even more extreme and worthwhile.

Hang in there man. This will work, it will work for you. The rewards are incredible!

Yes, we all have those days where everything fails at once. It is frustrating but hang in there, it is worth it. I second the recommendation for dripping as it is easier to control for flooding. If the atty floods, I blow it out a couple times really hard until no liquid seeps out. That usually fixes it.

I find the clearomizers do well for about a week and then start leaking or flooding as they get older/worn out. They are relatively cheap so I toss em and use a new one. Good luck to you, let us know how you progress.

I have had sketchy results with clearos too. The reason for the burnt taste, at least from what I've discovered is the fact that the resistance of the clearo is not enough for your battery. Most batteries, such as the Egos, are 3.7V. With a 3.7V battery, you typically need to be over about 2.2 Ohm of resistance in order to avoid getting a burnt taste, but less than 3.5 Ohm. Since most clearos are only 1.5 Ohm, that may be the source of some of your frustration.
I personally love the DCT tank. They come with a 1.5 Ohm dual coil cartomizer, for a total of around 3.0 Ohms of resistance. This gives great vapor and the tanks hold 3ml or 6ml of juice depending on the tank you get. The best DCT tanks that I've found have been at Vapingzone.com.
