I have had sketchy results with clearos too. The reason for the burnt taste, at least from what I've discovered is the fact that the resistance of the clearo is not enough for your battery. Most batteries, such as the Egos, are 3.7V. With a 3.7V battery, you typically need to be over about 2.2 Ohm of resistance in order to avoid getting a burnt taste, but less than 3.5 Ohm. Since most clearos are only 1.5 Ohm, that may be the source of some of your frustration.
I personally love the DCT tank. They come with a 1.5 Ohm dual coil cartomizer, for a total of around 3.0 Ohms of resistance. This gives great vapor and the tanks hold 3ml or 6ml of juice depending on the tank you get. The best DCT tanks that I've found have been at Vapingzone.com.

I should clarify. Im getting zero burnt taste from clearo's. So far they are my favorite. The issue is. (and this didnt happen until i got juice from madvapes.com) when im vaping them. They get juice in the air tube. I'm getting burnt taste from the CE2s that i just got from gotvapes.com today. Even after letting them sit i cant vape them for more than 2 hits before they get burnt taste. My vivi novas arent getting burnt either. they just constantly get juice in the air tube when vaping.

Thank you guys for all of your help so far.

Don't leave it in car, don't shake it. Clearomizers last for a month, give or take, then have to be replaced. Need to be cleaned one weekly.

Too much work.....I do so love my Reo Grand when it gets dirty I run it through the dishwasher and it comes out all sparkly and such

Too many variables, do what gregntulsa advises. I drip all day, when I use my epipe I use fusions (cartos). Get simple, get an Ego Twist or two and vape yer brains out. 2 month's? yes sir yer still a noob. My advice? Read everything on this site including the vendor threads and see who has the most success or uses words like Yumm, flawless performance, no leaky, hits like a freight train, simple operation, easy to.......
Good luck and DO NOT GIVE UP! We've all been there, some of us longer than others. You will find your "Sweet Spot", I promise.

I also tried using clearos. I didn't try as many, only the stardusts and ego-w, but gave up on clearos only after using just those. Now I use a carto with a tank, and have no issues. But as I don't have any preferences against 50/50, I don't normally run into any wicking issues. Everybody has to find their vaping groove, you just haven't reached yours yet.

On a side note, I did give up on vaping back in 08, when I was using the 801. I went back and forth several times. The 801 just wasn't enough to keep me going. Then I found ECF and learned about the new revolutionary eGo battery. 650 and 900 mah, what??? Mine was only 180, what is this magic? So yeah, after the ego, I never went back. Well, save once when I lost my carrying case that had all my extra batteries in it, and I had to buy a pack of smokes to get me through until replacements came in, but I don't count that as giving up on vaping, just an emergency situation. I now have 2 full sets of egos, plus a mod, so I should never have an issue. You'll find your sweet spot, just don't be scared to try new things :) And don't limit yourself either. This would be like deciding to start smoking, and saying you'll never smoke anything but unfiltered camel reds. Well, those may not work for you, but luckily they have marlboro menthol smooths :) See, you probably used to do things like that, do it with vaping too :)

I almost gave up at 3-4 months after I started vaping. At the same time my husband was starting and I didn't want to verbalize my disgust with all the leaks that I was having. At most I can do 80/20 PG/VG because the VG bothers me. My husband started with 50/50. He wasn't having the leaks that I was experiencing. In the end I decided to try a Reo Grand. It's the one thing that kept me vaping. No more leaks. Fill a few bottles at a time and all I have to do is replace the bottles when they are empty. My husband on occasion gets a leak but he's been patient with it. He also has a Reo which he mostly uses when driving. He still prefers his eGo.

Hey Bob, sorry to hear about this. What flavors are you vaping? If you're using cinnamon oil, it's a tank cracker, (also the acidity of fruit flavors can contribute). Are you over tightening the connection? Causes stress on the tank part... Can you see any hairline cracks at the bottom of the plastic tank? I was pretty underwhelmed with the CE stardusts range. I've found Kangers to be a lot better, and the 510 Excalibur clearos are doing well also. At least, if the tank, the wick or the atty goes, all can be replaced for real cheap vs throwing the entire component in the rubbish bin, of which 2/3 of the 3 bits were fine to begin with. Otherwise I'd email the vendor and explain the prob to him. I'm not familiar with your particular battery but maybe the ohm range of the clearo isn't a match for the voltage of the battery? (I use 2.2 2.4 ohm clearos on an eGo 650). Just some thoughts.

I've found that part of using Clearomizers is technique. If you suck too hard, you'll get juice in the airway. Also (credit not to me...learned this in another thread), I've found that activating the battery for about 2 sec then taking a draw makes a huge difference. I think the atomizer inside is often not warm enough if I draw immediately, thus not burning off the juice and flooding. Experiment with that and see how it goes! Worked really really well for me (added bonus is it kept my clearo from gooping up w/dark juice!)

Try a bottom feeder like the Reo with a Cisco atty. I loved the taste and vapor from a ce2 but they were too much of a pain in the ... with the gurgling and leaking and juice in the mouth. Carto with tank was great for 20 puffs then they were really muted taste wise. And they really sucked if you burned the wick or filler. The bottom feeder is great and even better is a rebuild able genesis style atty-tank. I'm using the DID now. Takes some effort to learn how to use but is awesome after the learning curve. Believe me, I was really bummed out with all the options out there not working but I've found what works, you can do this.

I used to have those days, I think everyone does at least when they start. I have been vaping for around 3 years now and I have tried just about everything. After all of this I am back to where I started. (just using a big battery now) 510 low resistance atomizer. Dripping with a small piece of blue foam in the cart. I drip one drop or two on the atty and two onto the blue foam. It tastes perfect every time and it last for about what I would consider one cig. It's been at least a year since I had one of those days. I used to have one of those days often when I tried getting to fancy.

Hang in there, we are all pulling for you.

I'm having the worst 3 days in vaping out of the 2 months that ive been doing it! Everything is flooding/leaking or tasting burnt!!! I have ONE clearomizer out of 6 that is giving me a good vape. All of the clearos that i have are from smokeless image. I have 2 vivi nova's and a 5 pack of FLUX Pheonixs from got vapes. My batteries are: 4 V4L diamond series slim batteries, 2 V4L EGO (non vv) batteries and 1 smoktech 510 EGO (non vv) My juices: a couple of 100% PG bottle from V4L, a couple 100 VG from V4L, 4 bottles from madvapes (the website says its 80vg/20pg but its runny as hell) 2 bottles from gotvapes (flux nectar) @ 70pg/30vg.

I know how to fill each tank/clearo correctly. I dont get juice in the air tubes. On the CE2's i use the syringe on the correct holes, i dont overfill and i let them sit for a bit to wick up.

Every CE2 gets juice in the air tube when i vape or tastes burnt or both. All of the clearos save for one get juice in the air tube when I vape them.

I dont understand what the problem is! Why can't i find a reliable product out there? and WHY is no one else having these problems when I do everything exactly as Im instructed to do!

The ONLY thing that hasnt let me down has been a Greensmoke kit that i bought using their prefilled cartos. Buying prefilled costs too much because ill go through 2-3 cartos a day and re-using them is sketchy.

Please someone help me figure this out before I give up on this alltogether and admit to wasting a couple of hundred dollars on products that everyone claims work so well.

I have tried every single thing you are having trouble with above at one time or another.

When stuff starts leaking and, or flooding I mess with it about 2 minutes and if I can't get it vaping properly I THROW IT AWAY and pull out a Boge or Smoktech cartomizer and I am back on solid ground vaping.

In my opinion good old cartomizers are the way to go. If you want to buy a couple fancy clearo's once in a while by all means pick a couple up and HOPE they work properly for a while but in the long run they ALL fail.

It's a lot easier to throw away a week old 80 cent XXL Smok Tech 1.7 ohm Resurrector than it is to toss out a 5 dollar clearo full of leaking juice.

ALL this stuff is sold as "disposable" for a reason.

I would also add that if you want something that USUALLY vapes well and holds a lot of juice pick up a couple Smoktech tanks cuz with those the only think that might fail is still just a 80 cent cartomizer. So you have to replace one once in a while, it's far better than tossing out 5 dollar stardusts.

Any clearo type device I've used, my juice starts baking and gets thick and doesn't taste good. I have DIY'd 80/20 juice even for them and it's the same story. They leak, you have to use a syringe to fill them, the flavor is way off and there's no throat hit for me. I drip when I'm at home at high voltage at 3 ohms on a Cisco atomizer on my Provari, or on a 3.5 ohm IKV Cannon. Now those two things are my major pleasure hits. During the day at the office I'm using easy travel stuff that never tastes burnt like the new horizontal bottom coil cartomizers with a Volt or KGO or EGO. I also have the Visions/Stardusts that I use sometimes but then again it goes right back to the thick boiled juices that start to taste crappy and no flavor. I have a ton of tanks and cartomizers, clearos, still in my storage, but I have to admit that for me at the office and during the day when I can't drip like I want to, those horizontal bottom coil cartomizers are amazing. You never have to worry about burning the filler and the juice seems to last forever in them.

If worst omes to worst, take your leakiest phoenix (i assume botom coil?) take out the air tube and top seal and use to drip with. You can drip about 3-4 drops DOWN THE SIDE.

For your vivi nova... How much do you want to fiddle with it? If you dont mind messing with it, unscrew the coil piece, cut the wick so the wick just touches the sides (you will have to tip it to keep the wicks wet.). Credit goes to someone else on this i just pass the word. Also look at your coil. Does it look like a bunch of black stuff is on the coil, even after you rinse it off? You will need to dry burn if thats the case. If not look at the coil, is it bunched up? If it is use a safety pin or something similar and spread out the coil and center it if it is off center.

Hope this helps a little.

A lot of people have mentioned some great products and combinations of products. The important thing is to not give up, no matter how frustrating it can get at times. 2 months vaping a great achievement, and you certainly dont want to throw that away at this stage. I wish I had the magical answer for you, but everyone has what they like, and that may not be what the next person likes. Keep trying things, and keep pushing forward. Best of luck and I hope everything goes back to where it was when you were pumped to be enjoying some tasty vapor.

This response may be late...and a tad bit off topic...but I think a lot of the dissatisfaction vapers encounter stems from too many choices.

Back when we were smokers we didn't jump from brand to brand. We favored one brand and that was it. We switch to vaping and our heads explode. To simply vape is not enough. We want the "best" vape, or the "best" pv, or the "best" whatever. Were we to turn our primary emphasis toward finding what works and staying with it, I believe our level of discontent would drastically decrease.

This is not to say that this is what you're experiencing, but I doubt very seriously that quiting vaping is the solution.

What's the alternative to vaping?

No...something worked for you in the past or you wouldn't be here. I'd respectfully suggest you rediscover what that was and return to the joys of vaping.
