>> it takes me 30 seconds to completely refill a cart how long does it take you for a carto?

19 seconds, including the time it takes to unscrew it from the battery, excluding the time it takes to screw it back on (since I generally switch cartos at fill-time) That 19 seconds was consistent across four samples, I beat it a couple times later, but I was trying to. That's just a typical time.

You can get it down to a few seconds if you really want to and have a good eye. You don't have to "drip" - squirt works fine if you can eyeball it. You don't have to spin, you can just snap your wrist once like you would for a thermometer. With the right tool, the end cap and the plug comes out simultaneously. So it's just yoink, squirt, snap wrist pop the plug and endcap on simultaneously.

You're close to makin' the girls at the factory look bad there :) Leaford better keep this one to himself.

Sawlight - Great story! Thanks for sharing.

JenJen - I agree 100% with everything you said. I love my VK, but if a different e-cig works for someone, I'm just as pleased.

Adrenalynn - 19 seconds??? I'm speechless. It usually takes me 10 - 15 minutes to do 3 (spinning them all together). Of course, I'm usually watching TV and don't rush at all.

I like the relaxed approach. Zoloft is my friend!

I've kept off posting here, as it didn't seem to be beneficial, however, reading this made me think perhaps you were missing a fundamental aspect of what new people are asking for.

I think it's a disservice to answer a request for a recommendation for one with a "both" answer, especially when your personal opinion (which is what is being asked for) is clearly a specific one. It's up the the requester of advice to decide what advice to take.
I know that if anyone ever asks me for a vaping recommendation, not only will I say 2 piece, I'll specify V4L's VK, as I know, first hand, what the entire new vaper experience with them is, and I believe it will be as good for them. (And yes, I also now own a 3 piece, and I've tried a few other 3 pieces also, and have friends who use them - well, I think some of my friends still do, a couple have switched to V4L)

In any event, your current opinion (and it's a fair honest one, from what I have read) is that the 510 is better. I have no problems with you making that recommendation should you wish to, however I take issue when you think people like me and others here on the forum shouldn't give our personal recommendations the way we do.

Well thank you DaShiVa for your response and opinion I can respect that..let me just clarify what you state is my current opinion which is not that the 510 is better but more that the two models are equal and each has it's area where they outperform the other. The question this time that VaporRulz posed is why do 510 users try to disuade a newbie from the 808 into a 510 and I said that it happens both ways and with users of all models..
My personal opinion is "both" though since everyone vapes differently and has different needs and thats really something they have to decide for themselves so the best I can do for them in my personal opinion is narrow the field from dozens of models to two..

Gosh, I had no idea all this was going on! Sheesh! Glad you like your 510 and your opinion is as valid as mine if you have actually used the two. When I wrote this, I had used a pen style and a 510 was so blown away by the Vaporking! For me, it was head over shoulders over the 510 and I was totally stoked that I had found it. I am still totally stoked and can't imagine going back to the 510 after trying the VK, but hey, different strokes for different folks lol. Personally, I am happy for anyone who has used ANY e-cig and gotten off the smokes. So it's all good! ;)

Thank you JenJen. And yeah I'd tried someone elses, 808, which is why it was on my models i want list...and I got what I ordered from V4L today..using it now and giving it a full fair shot before passing judgement..I do hope the vapor production picks up from what I'm noticing..and I agree I'm happy with whatever choice someone makes as long as it gets them off the analogs.

On an upside, I do think the cartos and some other bits will make it onto this home mod I'm cooking up... cuz dammit I'm making a PT hookah for my social circle with the PTs concealed as "hoses" and a pierceworked leather bottle as the base..I think it'll be fun to just have a bowl of cartos next to it so people can choose flavor and strength on each individual "hose"..

As much as you say the V4L people are "rabid" you seem bound and determined promote that 510 IN the V4L subforum no less. We've heard your opinion, and soon you will be experiencing both brands. Hopefully after that you can present a balanced argument for your beloved 510.

Sorry - my fault! He's reply to my question. I didn't mean to start anything!

I hope you find your VK to be an enjoyable experience. Some flavors seem to produce more vapor than others, and sometimes it takes a while for them to get rocking. I am just trying out a Cola carto for the first time, and it took a bit to get going, but it is vaping quite nicely now. I've also found that juices with a 50/50 VG/PG mix seem to produce a bit thicker vapor.

Your new contraption sounds like fun - we're gonna have to see some pics when you get it together! :D

Yeah the contraption is fun putting together..my main hobby is leatherwork, and I always loved making leather bottles and drinking vessels..and before I started vaping I got a crazy idea to make a leather hookah..so that evolved..found a powered usb hub the other day that'll push 2 amp to each of the ports..so i figured hey I can shove that in there and run 4 PTs from it..still have me a couple more ports and more hoses would be silly so was working on trying to see if i could wire up and run some el wire from them...which meant I could then do some piercework in the leather itself..dunno if thats gonna be possible...and it has to be plugged in, so working to see if i can find a light enough portable power pack to run it and make it portable..
I know it's kinda a silly project but you get bored when you work in heavy construction and things slow down in the winter and you spend time laid off..

As for the Vk experience, first off I'm totally getting on the bandwagon for the new name for the KR808D-1 that someone came up with..I'll be calling it the kreight (just a disclaimer to avoid confusion as to what I'm talking about)...hopefully vapor production will pick up once I empty a couple of kreightomizers and refill them..I should have totally gotten blanks, but they were out and so far I'm totally not feeling any love for the flavors I have (is it bad that I'm thinking about just washing the juice out of the prefilled to get fillable blanks?) because I've got perfectly yummy juice sitting around here for the 510..

(edit: hey just noticed 18 hours til it's 30 days analog free...awesome)

How is it possible that people who try the 510 AND the VK prefer the 510? I guess we all have different preferences, but sheesh! The taste of the vk is way above and beyond what I experienced with my 510. I seriously wish I had seen more on the Vk before I spent about $300 on 510 and accessories! But you know what? I found my ecig and that is all that matters. I am off cigs for good and that is worth all the money I have as far as I am concerned! It is just going to take a bit longer until I break even is all... right??? Thank God my hubby is as thrilled for me to be off the analogs as I am, maybe more so. He is a good guy (of course, he hasn't seen the bills yet... ;) )

Anyway, the draw is a bit light on the battery but is easily remedied by putting your fingers lightly over the air holes. I have a feeling I will get used to the lighter draw eventually, but for now that works for me. The passthrough is a perfect draw in my opinion. Surprisingly, I actually like the automatic battery as opposed to the manual, not sure I would switch back even if they do come out with a manual for the vk, but we'll see.

All of the flavors I have tasted so far are the 16 except the peach which is 11. I think I will keep ordering the 16 since it seems be be satisfying to me, although I may order some 6 and 11 for nighttime vaping.

So far I have tasted the chocolate (yummy), the cappucino (yummier), the marlboro (best tobacco flavor I have tried so far compared to the 510) and the peach...mmmmmmmm. The peach is yummy and very very sweet. I don't think it will ever be my favorite vape, but it will always have a place - I like it alot and will always want to have it on hand. The Vanilla is very tasty, and again, I will want to have it on hand. So far the cappucino is the overall "ding ding ding we have a winner" flavor for me.

The tobacco flavors I have tried are ALL better then I have had on the 510. WAY better! The Ry4 is a bit too sweet for me but ok. The camel is very rich tasting and just a bit on the sweet side. I will definately keep some on hand. The Marlboro is my favorite and to me is the closest to smoking an analog. It will probably be the taste I vape when I am drinking something sweet like "boat drinks" :)

Ease of use? Forget about it! Way less muss and fuss! And on the 510, I found I was always dripping a few drops on so I could taste something, even when the cart was new. This has consistant flavor. Man I love this baby! The vapor king doesn't NEED a mod because it has everything going for it already!

So I have to say on a scale of 1 - 10 I have to give this baby a 15! If you were even considering giving this one a try, do yourself a favor and do it! I just can't find enough good things to say about it!

I ordered the kr8 yesterday and looking forward to trying it.You make it sound so good!

I'm new to e-cigarettes and this board.

For my part I only have experience with the VK. My partner did extensive research before making a purchase decision. It's so easy to use and trouble-free that I don't feel the need to experiment... unless there is some improvement overall. Vaping since 12-17 and switched to vaping exclusively on the 12-26. Happily vaping has ruined me for tobacco, I'm afraid! I smoked one on the 26th and found it not only tasted bad but stunk as well. I haven't experienced any withdrawals yet, either.

Now about flavors... I'm finding that I enjoy many more flavors than I would ever smoke. I mean, the flavors I'm vaping are not appealing to me as smokes (analogs). I used to smoke Camel Light Menthol and always preferred it "light on the menthol." I love all the menthols as vapes. My favorite, all-day vape is "KANT." Chocolate is good, but ordinarily I wouldn't cross the street for a chocolate bar. Thought I would adore the coffee flavors but have found there must be something wrong with my taster... they all taste/smell to me like chocolate. I have yet to try any of the tobacco flavors, though French Pipe makes me gag. I'm eager to try cinnamon (cinammon?), green tea, and licorice when/if it comes out. I'll have to leave the dessert flavors be; just the thought of candy and pie is fattening.

He also did extensive research on suppliers before deciding to deal with V4L. They do seem to be very good and he is pleased with their responsiveness and product. Their line appears comprehensive. I will probably deal with them, too, by default... though I'm not as happy about their attentiveness; I've sent three e-mails for info that they have never responded to. I guess you have to be a paying customer first?

Thanks, Taryn. No, I'm very afraid of the dessert carto's... a moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips. Just passing a bakery and smelling fresh baked bread makes me fat.

Pawpaw, I used the generic "contact us" clicky on the site. Don't know where that communication ended up. I can forgive it, though; it was during the Christmas rush after all. I'll reserve further judgement until after I place my own order and deal with them directly. Hopefully I don't have a "personal dark cloud."

Ok, I've given the vapor4life vapor king a shot now...gotta say I don't see it..the 510 still wins hands down by comparison in vapor production and throat hit and even flavor (that one was to my surprise)...and so far the customer service has been pretty horrid actually..been trying to fix a problem with an order since the 23rd of Dec now..ready to just throw anything "vapor king" related in the trash.

Anyone reading this might want to take into consideration that the majority of the time between Dec 23 and now has been Christmas eve, Christmas Day, and the weekend after. Then the following week was trying to catch up during the few days before New Years break. It wouldn't be difficult to miss an email, and they had very little time to spend in the forums with the rush of business. I personally would have made a phone call during business hours to talk with them if I had a pressing concern that needed to be fixed right away before giving up and badmouthing but not everyone has the same standards.

hmm lets see...called the morning of the 23rd left a message with a contact #.. sent an email to customer service which was replied to to please resend to Mark's email which I did and that dead ended there..sent a pm at that same time and no response...sent a pm again on the 28th got a "how can we make this right" from Mark when I asked at that point if I need to send everything back and get a refund...replied to that and no reply from them for an entire week...sent both Mark and Steve PMs late last night and they've been on and posting today...and no responses whatsoever...so they've been contacted numerous times..before bringing anything at all up in forum..

I was out of town, when I came back, I got food poisoning. I will be more than happy to take care of you whichever way, you would like. I ALWAYS will go over and above, when I am available(I am very surprised Mark and you, did not communicate while I was away). I have sent you a PM requesting you to call me tomorrow. I really do believe I know how to satisfy you, and get you where you want to be. I apologize if your issue was not resolved sooner, but, I have to be available to talk to you, in order to do so. I have my own family, which, during Christmas break, I choose to spend time with. I certainly hope you understand.

Regards

Steve:cool:
