Hi, all:

I've been lurking a long time but with such great info on the threads, have always been able to find answers to my questions in the threads.

Now I could use a little direct advice, though.

I'm hoping to score a VV Grand next weekend and want to get the right gear to get the most TH out of it.

Currently, I use a Reo Mini with a Cisco 510 LR bridgeless 1.5 ohm atty and FUSA Wyatt Earp. It's great when the atty is new but after a couple of days, not so much.

I have two questions:

First: What atty do I need for the VV Grand that will really deliver massive TH? I think I can't use an LR on the VVG, right? Do I want an HV atty?

Second: I'm also in on the next group buy for an ERA atty. When I get it, do I try to set it up for 1.5 ohms, or can I set it up differently to get a bigger TH? The more coils, the higher the resistance, is that right? I want fewer coils to get bigger TH?

I hope these questions make sense. No matter how much I read here, I still don't understand the basics of electricity. I'm not a physicist, for God's sake. Just a simple vaper.

TH is going to be more dependent on the juice than anything else. With that being said, standard resistance attys would work best, 2.5 to 3.0 ohms. You can use a 1.5 if you need to, but will not be able to run at the higher voltages as the chip will clip to prevent over current draw. When you get your ERA and learn how to make coils and align the air hole the flavor and vapor amount will blow your mind. If you want a killer ripping TH I recommend Havana Gold from AVE. That stuff has a kick like a mule.

Missed something, on the ERA you can move the air hole away from the coil and increase the TH to the point where it feels like you got punched in the throat. This will limit the vapor amount dramatically but you will get the TH. You will be able to fine tune the ERA to get that optimal vape.

Welcome, Jay! :)
While others have answered your questions I just want to chime in here about your last couple of statements.

I'm no electrical whiz either....in fact, I'm rather dumb when it comes to electrical stuff. However, I just want to put your mind at ease. Using this mod is easy....set it up like you normally would. Making sure the dial is turned all the way down. Then as you vape, turn it up until you've found the spot you like. Might take you a little bit to find that sweet spot, but that's really all it takes. You don't need to find out what it's set at if you don't want to. I don't. I just adjust as needed...which is rare.

Now I do recommend having a multi meter for troubleshooting your gear....it's great for figuring out if any issues are being caused by your batteries or atties. And the few steps it takes to do this are simple enough for anyone... even me.

On the VV Grand or VV Woodvil I use standard attys and tune it in tell its good for me.

Now the ERA :) your going to have fun with that.

I use 3mm wick and 32ga Kanthal wire should give you about 2.8 ohms this set up will give you a lot of range to adjust to your taste.

Your juice will provide most of the TH, I am a Havana Gold user and can get a good kick in the throat vape just the way I like it:)

The other way I get good TH is vape on the dry side. Hot and almost dry will get you what your looking for.

Experiment with your set up and how wet you keep you atty.

(Remember if you run an atty on the dry side you run the risk of pooping the atty from over heating the coil.)

prophetz is spot on about being able to adjust the air flow in the ERA to get more TH.

Just my 2c and hope it helps
