Meh, just what I always wanted. LOL

I am glad word is getting out though.
Yeah, probably makes people feel a little better knowing their unwarranted burned out Seven-30s don't have to be just hundred dollar paperweights.

The owner of my favorite B&M said a bunch of people here in the Springs are having the same problem. He was already gonna start building 350 mods, so he has a bunch of chips coming in. I directed him to this thread, now he's thinking about offering a Seven-30 retrofit service for 80-90 bucks to go alongside the mods he'll be building. He might be able to get a decent amount of people to complain to Yihi about the chip's issues. I wouldn't blame P4u because they don't make the chip. Yihi are the ones who designed it to fire past its safe limits.

True but they made the device which makes them responsible for the overall system, testing and ratings. For all we know, the board might be a clone and not authentic yihi or if yihi they could have recommended heat sync lower resistance etc. Regardless, its p4u's problem to sort out. Also, they chose the 300 instead of the 350. Which is what I really meant by smelling the coffee. Make one a few mm longer with the 350 and forget the 300.

Any 510 ohm meter will work, nothing special about 26650. You can also use a standard DVM from lowes, just more convenient to use one with a 510 connector on it, also serves as a base when building the atty.

I have a number of them but this one is my favorite: ohm meter

Yeah, I have a multimeter, just looking for something more convenient.

Just asking because it seems like on a few (probably cheapies?) the ego threading gets in the way or the display is too close to the 510 and gets blocked. Thanks for the suggestion!

350ZMO, you should get in on that building action!

It's too easy, anyone can do it themselves. Simple hand tools, jb weld, rtv, someone you trust and a front porch watching the sun rise. Now there is a market for a longer end cap as you have to flip the adjustable battery hickey over leaving that nub sticking out. I just drilled a hole in a Gatorade cap as my new base, the orange matches the battery LOL.

Ah ok, no thread or screen problems with that one. Some of my black plastic ones are now non-functional. One of these days I'll melt the hot glue out and fix em but that one is very nicely made. A little narrow but nicely made and rechargeable and mines accurate, agrees with DVM.

Yeah, I'd rather just buy one good meter than have a bunch of busted plastic cheapies laying around. Thanks again!

Couldn't stand the low power vape I was getting off my iTaste VV v3, and I can't afford an SX350 chip right now. So I turned my Seven-30 into a mech. Desoldered the wires from the board, soldered some 14g speaker wire to the battery pin, pulled the wires through the fire button hole, and closed her up. Pinched the wires together with a .6 quad coil, and holy crap. I'd never tried a mech before, but I'm in love.

Awesome! Pics?

Oddly enough, I went ahead and ordered a 30mm 26650 mech a couple days ago. It'll be my first mech as well...:toast:

I'm gutting a flashlight for a button right now, I'll post pics once I've got the button on. Just be prepared, it's kinda ghetto.

Well, the flashlight button is a no go. Dang thing melted. Until I find something else or go to Radio Shack, this is what I've got.

Alright, so after taking the time this weekend to fool with the attys I recently got, I finally have some respectable toppers for my Seven 30.

10588659_10152372926636137_866692061_n.jpg10335861_10152376715306137_337722148_n.jpg

30mm Tobeco Tobh clone (left) and 30mm Ehpro Big Buddha (right). Same build on both, .8 ohm dual micro coil (1.5mm ID) with 28g kanthal (13 wraps using the coil gizmo), wicked with Japanese cotton. I really like the .8 on the RBA (running at the full 30w!), but the dripper is probably gonna go lower (for my mech). Lovin' the mech too btw (26650 4nine).

The draw is awesome on the Big Buddha (dual airflow control)...it's just like my wide gauge hookah setup. Great dense vapor. No dry hits. It was a bit trickier to build than the dripper (it took me a couple tries), but now that it's sorted (no leaks! yeah!), it's an awesome all day vape. A great compliment to the Seven 30!

The Tobh wide open with the Cherry Vapes cloud chaser drip tip has an insane draw. The restriction is non existent..this thing RIPS! Nice clouds even at .8 ohms (vapor still quite cool though), but I feel like it almost needs a lower ohm build to truly capitalize on the airflow! It'll have to be on the mech though...I'm not tempting fate on the Seven 30.

Not bad for a first timer eh? :p
