Severely Reduced Performance after boiling out cartos?

I think that the cartos don't absorb new juice very well if they are completely dry. It's like a kitchen/bathroom sponge, when it's totally dried out, the water doesn't absorb as well as a damp sponge....water just runs off instead of absorbing. I get great results just blowing out as much water as possible after cleaning and then refill. I've been able to keep using the same cartos for a couple of months....great flavor and vapor. Some have had to go in the trash can, but not many.

And you haven't had any problem with water on your tongue when vaping after you refill them? I can't figure out any other reason for this problem I had than that the filler was still wet with water, and I was vaping the water, and it was ending up on my tongue -- and then into a kleenex. It was a real pain for about three days, having to spit into kleenexes all the time (but only when I was vaping those cartos I had cleaned that obviously hadn't completely dried out).

I like the thought of cartos being completely dry inside; then I can pretend they're brand new and ready to be filled for the first time.

When I did this the first time, I found blowing them all out to be a PITA. So, I took an old mismatched clean sock, loaded the toe with carts rubber banded together, and spun the liquid out.
Centrifugal Force is amazing.

I find that blowing for a couple of seconds into the mouth ends is much quicker than looking around for a mismatched clean sock, loading the toe with cartos after rubberbanding them first, and then spinning. Then I also don't have to unload the cartos from the sock and unrubberband them.

Thinking back, even though I had the cartos sitting by a fan for 24 hours or a little more, I probably didn't plunge all the excess water out when I cleaned them. I think I only blew out the excess water, leaving the filler still somewhat saturated. I can't remember for sure all the steps I did. That was about two weeks ago, but since then, I've been cleaning them the way I described in the long msg above. I think the cartos were not nearly dry enough after 24 hours and there was probably some excess water in them (down by the threaded ends) -- and that's why the water ended up on my tongue when vaping those 9 cartos.

I blow a few syringes of boiling water thru the cartos to clean out the old juice and then blow a few syringes of air thru them to rid them of excess water. After that they take good amount of juice and I'm ready to vape. Honestly haven't used many blank cartos, but when I have they seem to absorb pretty well.

Yea, that's basically how I flush out cartos. I think I prefer them to be as dry as possible inside because of my experience with vaping some cartos that still had excess water in them. I hope to never vape water again!

Anyway, I just refilled three cartos that have been drying since late Friday night. I tested one of them, and it seemed fine. So, I doubt that I'll let them dry for 7 days, but probably 2 to 3 days from now on. I think pushing air through them after flushing the old juice out will help immensely to get them dry enough, especially if they sit in front of a fan for a couple of days.

do a taryn spin on the carto before using it. that will force the liquid to the threaded end.

Thank you for reminding me about the Taryn spin! I watched that video about 3 weeks ago, tried it once with a couple of cartos, and then forgot about it, because I was just learning about all of this stuff. Well, a little while ago this morning, I came across the thread where Taryn first introduced his spin method. So I read some of that thread and then decided to try it. OMG, what a difference! I had 13 cartos I had just refilled last night, and most of them appeared to be empty or almost empty when I took the caps off about 10 hours later. No wonder I've been having problems vaping lately! The filler in the Boge soft cap cartos doesn't absorb the liquid very good, so I haven't been able to put much liquid in when I refill them. Then when vaping, I'm not satisfied because they don't last long and just haven't seemed to work right.

Anyway, I was just able to put about 20 more drops into each of the 13 cartos. It took 3 spins (all cartos were rubberbanded and put into an old sock with threaded ends down, complete with condoms and buttplugs inserted) to get them all filled completely, but vaping now is like it was when I first started a month ago, when I received some pre-filled cartos in my first starter kit that were plumb full. I should be able to vape each one for longer than an hour now. Thanks again!
