I did finally find a limitation of the VV Box mod. It will run a 1.5 ohm DCC at the most 4.9 volts. Anything above that it voltage under load is 4.8-4.9v. Still very impressive, honestly I believe what you set is what you get. I may run in to variances of .05 to .1v, but i believe that is due to the sensitivity of the POT. POT barely needs to be moved to adjust .1v.

next run will be to test battery life, but I have some questions about how far to drain, and when to charge, how long to charge.

This runs 2 14900 900mah batteries. I know charged, this will be around or slightly over 8v. How far do i drain the batteries down before charging. Currently, the set is at 6.6v which in theory should be 3.3 per battery. So im guessing i should probably charge when it is down to about 6v? And how long should i charge, my, charger has an output of 2v/600mah. Im guessing about 3.5 hours?

Also should I label them battery A and battery B and rotate them in the device?

Lemme know what you think

As far as your charger time. If it has more than one channel, divide the total output buy the number of channels. Total output in mah = 600/2 channels. Take the total mah of the battery divided my the total mah of the channel. 900/300= 3 hours.

So I got an email from SLB about this EGOV this morning. I have to say, other than the 650mah battery (passthrough though), this is a sharp unit. Larger mah rating coming soon. Look for this to hit vendors soon! Any thoughts on this?

This looks cool, and just after I bought the i taste. Oh, well. Is the big battery mod market being taken over?

I am really surprised someplace hasnt created a PV that took battery packs much like your rechargable drills, saws etc. That would be pretty freakin cool to have my VV mod powered by Milwaukee or DeWalt

So if that EgoV does from 3.0-6.0 volts, you really wouldn't need any other device right.

If I don't end up switching to Swedish snus (quick, someone call the whaaaaaambulance lol), I would definitely make the Egov my next buy. Was going to get plain ego-twist, but it doesn't go to 6v.

Well that is pretty much the point of a VV. It gives you the ranges to play with! Can't say for sure what all it is capable of at this point, as it hasn't hit the market yet. But if it does what it says, there goes the Twist! But if you are interested in a VV device, there are plenty out there. All depends on how much you want to spend, really.

I sure hope not. Proprietary bats would eliminate choice and flexibility for the consumer. I would guess the market would dwindle as very few people (outside of new vapers) are willing to take chances on devices with short lifespans and would be far more frugal with purchases.

I can see it now. Puff, cut 2x4, puff, and charge.

Haha, a multi-tool. Well, wait..I'm a tad surprised there hasn't been a shock-resistant, heavy duty, type PV made yet. One for the garage, construction folks. Maybe a built-in AM/FM, water-proof and designed to look similar to some favorite tools.

I did meter out my nova heads, 1.8 measured out at 2.1, 2.8 measured 2.7, but the 2.4 is measuring over 3ohms.

So the 2.4 will be saved for last, I hope when I get heads in the future, I can get them with longer wicks and trim them, these barely protrude from the silicone caps,

Sounds like you got the V1 Nova. I'm definitely not for sure, but I thought the V2 had slightly longer wicks and the 2.5 has even longer. Not 100% on the V2 as I don't have one. They very well could be the same as V1.

The latest version is being sold with short wicks. You can make them however long you want when you rebuild it :)

Hmm, that's news to me. Good to know, though. Don't really see the need (one can easily trim, but can't add unless they rebuild) other than to appease people.
