My intention was to go from 2 pack/day down to none/day in a few months with the help of vaping. Slowly migrate from analogs to vape. However the switch went WAY quicker than I had ever expected.

Went from (analogs per day);
40
5 (vape supplies arrived 4pm)

Been at 0 cigs for over 3 weeks now, only vaping.

Anyone else quit analogs faster than planned or expected?

I kindof expected to do like my friend who talked me into vaping and just use it to curb the desire for a cigarette, hopefully reducing the amount I smoked per day.. maybe go from a pack to 5 or so.. After 2 days I couldn't stand the taste of a cigarette. Made me sick. Haven't had one since. that was 46 days ago

Heh. The crazy part about this is there are no rules. Everyone starts at the same place: a PV in one hand, a pack of butts in the other hand - and it just sorts itself out from there. Everyone has a different experience - and it's perfectly allowable and works no matter how it works.

I dropped from a 2 PAD habit right down to 6 cigarettes on day one. That was fast! I still diddled with smoking for three months though. A bad day might have been ten. There were some days when I didn't have one at all. Ultimately I had to get rid of the smokes I had on hand. Had the last one in the last pack - didn't enjoy it at all - and it was over.

I hadnt intended to quit. My morning tea+smoking ritual was important. I would never change this. nor had any complaints of the ritual. However it was a 40 plus years ritual and my lungs would not accept any more. I could not walk as before. I could not speak while walking. My wife used to stop me for breath even during a short walk.
So I thought (after surfing internet) I would give a try this e-cigs. Only I would go ahead with my ritual as before but for farther smoking I would use e-cigs if it works.
Rolling my own cigarettes since 1974 is no joke. 25-40 grs/day.
Neverthless when I went to buy e-cig (Clone of a clone ego type) the guy gave me one to try for nic level. With my first intake (lets say second because first is wasted inhaling directly to my lung) I thought smoking was over. I had 7 rolled cigarettes for the way. If it werent for the false liquid they sold me I would still keep them. But vaping no nic liquit made me crave so I smoked them. Detesting the taste and wandering how I could ever smoke. So I went and bought most expensive liquid of the journey to enjoy vaping. After that I found turkish e-cig forum which happily provide cheap devices and liquids.
Ritual? No ritual at all. I have a stick in my hand and all the ritual is this now. with tea or without tea. For over a year yet.

soooo looking forward to seeing how this will go for me... haven't started yet but will in a few days when the starter kit arrives in the mail.

Recently participated in a paid research study that required no smoking for three days (money is a POWERFUL motivator) :D and i was shocked at how easy it was. i just. didn't. smoke. Had no headache, no bad cravings, no nothing, aside from feeling very odd having the morning coffee w/out the attendant smoke. but although it was odd, it wasn't very difficult. SHOCKED i tellya.

when the three days were up though, i went right back to it and it didn't taste bad or anything - and THAT might not be such a good sign. hehe.

so am hoping that vaping will also be a not-too-difficult transition and i can become a non-smoker. everything i am reading here is so helpful in knowing what i may expect to experience as i begin this. thanks to all who share here -

Hey MissBlue!

One thing you will have to find out when you try this: For a lot of us (most) the smoking experience turns on you really fast when you start vaping. We don't know why, but a lot of people find smoking goes gross in short order. For people lucky like that smoking a cigarette actually turns out of be it's own worst negative reinforcement. If you are one of us in this respect it won't take long - you will know within the first week of vaping.

On the day my first eGo arrived I had 200 unopened analogs in the drawer, and smoked 20/25 a day, that day I smoked 13, then 7 the next day, then 3 for the next couple of days, thinking ... am I going to do with all these cigs, so I gave 160 to the wife, and ended up finishing 1 of the 2 packs I had left over the next few days. After 2 weeks I had given up completely, just wish the wife would now...

No. :)

I made the mistake of buying an expensive plastic stick system that promised to offer me "40 cigarettes".

Sadly, that was a little ambitious... so as the £££ disappeared from my wallet, my smoking dropped about 10% at the most.

My results weren't as dramatic, but they were still pretty amazing.

I'd failed at cold turkey twice, and I'd tried gum and patches. As such, I wasn't expecting too much from vaping.

I usually smoked around 25/day. I smoked four, picked up my first setup, then smoked only two more that day. So, from 25 to 6 in less than a day.

I'm still having trouble kicking those last 2 or 3 a day, but considering how much I've cut down and how quickly, I'm not too worried.

That's pretty much the exact pattern I had a bit more than 3 months ago, the only difference being that my vape supplies arrived closer to noon.

I didn't really intend to quit when I got my first vape setup; I just wanted to see how many analogs I could replace with vaping, but somewhere around day 2 or 3, quitting started to look pretty realistic.

Hello. I have tried a few times before with this and that brand e-cig. I have been disabled for ten years now and getting paid once a month, well I would find myself mid-month without carts. Full-on fails.

Unlike many people, I love blus. I may still get the deluxe kit to use when I'm out.

Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I stopped at a new place "the Vapory" here in town. I bought an itaste ep. Had I done any research I'd have at least got a vv 3, but it is what it is.

First week, maybe a little less, I was still craving - and bumming 'smellies'.

Now, the last 7 - 10 days I've been ONLY vaping! I don't crave cigs, but I do crave the EP. I end up charging it bout the same time every evening.

Been thinking bout either innokin's svd or mini 134. After reading many posts now leaning to mvp 2.0.

Anyway, as hards as it's been for me in the past, it feels so good to be free of tobacco.

I had no real intention of quitting (1 1/2 PAD smoker, for over 40 years), but I agreed to try vaping out and see what happened.
Got my stuff Wednesday night. Lit up and squashed out my last cigarette Monday night. I still feel like I "really" have never quit. Too easy to make the switch. Smoke, throat hit, and yummy juices make it so enjoyable! My husband got his own magic wand (LOL) and is vaping 0 nicotine delicious Amaretto along with me.

I bought the BLU starter kit in January, and still smoked 8 - 10 analogs a day (Down from a PAD). The following week I bought a 650mah ego with a CE5 clearomizer and some juice and after a day I couldn't stand the taste of analogs anymore. I now use an ego-v v3, and protank aero most of the time. Just a few days ago I was SUPER low on juice, so I smoked 4 cigarettes and quickly ran to brush my teeth after each one.

Yep. I quit analogs the same day I received my e-cigs, But I was well advised to order enough 2.4% e-juice that will last me a month, and at least 2 batteries; I ordered three. Never looked back.
