Should 48mg PG be this way?

The picture was taken without flash. The color balance is off a little. The juice is a shade or two darker in real life. My camera isn't the greatest.

In addition to the yellow/brown color the juice has a very strong chemical odor. The smell was familiar but it took me a long time to pin it down. It smells EXACTLY like WD40. You know, the household oil that comes in a spray can.

When I dilute it down to 24mg/ml with PG and vape the WD40 smell is very prominent. I intended to vape it unflavored but it's impossible. It tastes like I sprayed WD40 in my mouth.

The juice was ordered last December from a very prominent vendor. It was every bit as dark and stinky the day it arrived. This is not the result of aging.

This was my first ever juice order. I bought in bulk. I'm about to do another bulk order and would like to know if I got screwed the first time around.

I can't be sure, but I was under the impression that pure unflavored juice should be perfectly clear when fresh, although I believe I recall reading that it can yellow a little bit with age because of air and oxidation. You might want to ask in the DIY forum because they have a lot more experience than most of us dealing with unflavored nic juices.

I've read that oxidation causes a color change. It's the WD40 smell that has me most concerned. Maybe I'll ask the mods to move the thread to DIY if I don't get any replies here.

Hmm... Personally... I wouldn't vape it.

Nic juice should come clear, although it can get a very slight yellow tinge over time. Mine did, anyway.

Mine is 60mg, and it does have a chemically smell to it, but I can only smell it if I get my nose right in the bottle. It's not strong.

I dunno... something about it seems wrong to me... I wouldn't risk it...

Nicotine has an odd chemical odor but I wouldn't call it WD40ish. Vaped it's more peppery tasting but I've never vaped it without flavoring. We need some of the nicotine experts here to answer this one. :)

This stuff is definitely not peppery. It's WD40 all the way. I realized what it smelled like when I was cleaning up some rust from my hand tools with WD40. One spray of the WD40 and I thought "Oh crap! That's what the juice smells like."

It's a little late to not vape any. I've gone through two 60ml bottles and I'm half way through the third. As I said this was my first juice purchase. I was a total noob when I bought it. I thought the smell and color were strange but the vendor was a highly recommended USA shop so I trusted them more than myself. Also, the juice was in vendor branded bottles so there was no way they didn't notice the color and smell. They had to bottle it themselves.

I should add that I'm a hardcore menthol addict...tons of real menthol crystals. My mix puts vicks vapo rub to shame. It completely covers the WD40 stink. If I was into candy flavors I would have posted this a lot sooner as the juice would have been unusable. I just don't want this to happen again. If I shell out $$$ for high nic juice I want to be sure that I'm getting something of decent quality.

I have bought 48mg nic like what you are showing. Unflavored isnt really clear. It turns a little yellowish as it oxidizes.
Nic juice isnt orderless as some here think it might be. There is a smell also to it. I can identify with the WD40 although I couldnt taste it vaping. It just smelled. I wouldnt personally worry about it it you arent sick. Nic is a chemical.. It does smell.. I never had any ill effects from it. Some nic is clearer than others but it is normal to turn yellowish with age and even to some extent when it is fresh..
    my 2 cents..

I have a bottle of 36mg coffee that I always thought was a little "peppery"--now I know why. Thanks for the post! Good info
