Lol. I do too. I have a hard time comprehending how nicotine frozen at minus 4 degrees could lose potency or go bad.
Marketing departments and lawyers love conservative expiry dates.
I live on the edge and use expired rubbing alcohol and expired distilled H2O.
I've used nic from all of those companies and also just recently ordered from MFS and as you the 100mg NIC did have a distinct odor to it. But when you mix it down to your desired vaping strength (Mine was 14mg 65VG\35PG) there should be no noticeable odor. So what you need to do is mix down the NIC and see if the smell goes away or at least deminishes to bearly detectable. If you still have an unplesent smell contact the vender and ask for a replacement. I've delt with issues with both WL and MFS and they sent out replacements quickly. Theres no need to worry about if the bottle was opened or not they don't require the old stuff be sent back.
Nic, even very pure nic, can have a smell, and that smell/taste can vary. We are not sure where the smell comes from, since ultra-pure nic (like Alchem which does a distillation after the final extraction) has virtually no smell/taste, but it is my belief that it comes from trace non-nicotine alkaloids that come along to a small extent in the extraction process. I have seen excellent analysis results on nics that have a popcorn, peanut to sharp acrid smell. I actually like those to vape unflavored.
The three companies you mention have good reputations for putting out quality nic. WL especially tends to put out a very consistent product. WL Ice, no longer available it seems, was more odorless and tasteless than their regular nic, but even their regular is very low smell/taste. MFS recently increased their purity and seem to be putting out ultra-pure nic these days. Was not always the case, but then I am considering nic from 2009. MUCH has changed in purity now, across the board. I think trace oxides also have a particular taste, and may be responsible for the tobacco notes that seem to grow in with an aged nic.
I would not worry about argon gas. If they are not shipping in glass, I think Ar is moot, since O2 can slowly get through a plastic container. Once it is opened, the argon is gone, anyway. Freezer store in glass, well sealed, to get the most time out of the nic.

I got some MFS gon' be here tomorrow...
Just in case anyone else is a juice miser.
I transfer 100 mg on clean surface.
I sop up spills w/ clean cotton gauze.
Put cotton in syringe and squeeze extract the juice; I vape the recovered juice first.
Sometimes, I extract juice from wicks w/ syringe.............
I transfer my nic to glass bottles. then I put the plastic bottles upside down on a funnel that is in a smaller glass bottle and let it sit a while. last time I did this I got about 20ml extra liquid from 2 250ml bottles![]()
After draining 100 mg bottle I rinse w/ PG then vape the PG.
I quit using funnels and hit the mark...most of the time
No need to treat like gold now but who knows down the road.
Got my 250ml nic in glass bottle from MFS today...either my nose is totally stopped up or it has little to no smell that I can detect.
