Should ALL polls be stuck in this section

Should EVERY poll get stuck in this section

  • Absolutely not. It's senseless to lump all polls together, and there's no reason for it.

  • Yeah, go ahead and lump them all together.

  • I don't care, forum polls are a waste anyway.

It just seems extremely foolish to lump every poll in one section. Many will miss this section entirely, and with so many different subjects (some worth discussing, some completely lame, and some that should be relegated to the lounge), this will minimize the significance of a worthwhile poll. While I rarely start polls, some put a lot of thought into them, and they are pretty good. But if they're going to just stick em all here, (silly ones and serious ones alike), why not just get rid of them entirely? Lumping them all together just makes absolutely no sense. I mean, we already have subsections for all the different topics, so if a poll pertains to one specific topic, shouldn't it simply be in that subsection? Was there suddenly a flood of polls in one section, or something along those lines?

If there's a sensible reason for this, someone please enlighten me.

At first I didn't like the idea at all, but it is growing on me.
It's nice to be able to go somewhere and see all polls in one place every now and then.
That way I know I didn't miss any good ones!!
:)

The true test will be if voting on polls increases, decreases, or stays about the same.
If the voting on polls decreases, then it was a very bad idea.

Best case scenario would be to have both. The poll and accompanying thread should be found in the appropriate subforum, but it is also nice to have one consolidated place to find all the currently running polls to gather the largest number of respondants without having to dig into every subforum. I don't know if vBulletin is capable of allowing cross-posting like that, but it would be cool if it did. :)
