i received my drip tip today. should i clean it before using it for the first time or is it ok to just open the package, put it on, and start vaping?

I just had a movie flashback of Fight Club....some angry worker in China making 20 cents an hours standing over a vat of Dakang e-juice saying "I add special flavor for lazy American"....
i think i read somewhere that you can lose all your hair and possibly go blind if not washed out of the package..

YUK! Who knows who or what has touched that drip tip. The worker might have sneezed or picked his nose before packaging it.

I wash most of my stuff when it shows up (RBA, clearos, drip tips, DIY gear). Soap & hot tap water.
Machined parts will generally have machining oil on them, and that is some nasty stuff. Clearos tend to have the wick primed, also nasty stuff. Drip tips, well, they are going in your mouth. haha

if it passes visual inspection, it's a green light for me. Maybe a quick wipe. This ain't dinner folks. Obviously use your common sense and clean it once a blue moon, or if you have blue moon growing on it.

I was dating a guy who, whilst nekked, took my PV and put it between his legs so it was next to his...body, drip tip and cartomiser side down. I had to throw away the cart and I tried to bleach the driptip with my mouthwash but I just couldn't bring myself to use it and had to throw it out. :-( It was pretty and blue... What an evil man!x

I use a coffee pot right out of the box last time I bought new plates I I put them straight in the cupboard and did not wash them first.
I take DTs right from the box unwrapped and vape them! I let my dog lick my plate before I wash it. I do not worry about that sort of thing if it looks clean its good enough for me.
But on the other hand I scrub my place top to bottom every Sat morning I hate dust!

I do not wash anything I order for vaping before I use it. Do you guys wash your e-juice bottles and fill tips before you fill your tanks/attys/cartos? Do you wash your door handle on your car before you open it each day? Who knows who touched your car last night while you were in bed. Do you wash your hands after touching the handle on a public door? Do you force your wife/husband to rinse with mouthwash before you kiss?
Why do you think that we currently have crazy things like flu epidemics going around? Because we sanitize things too much. The viruses and bacteria in our world have become immune to most things we use to "kill" them because of overuse.

Well, think about this.
The only way the stuff that makes you sick get inside you is from your hands or an item!
Stuff can live up to a week on something! Like, I don't know, the FLU!
Or you suck in something someone just sneezed or coughed out!
