Hi all, I started vaping a little over 2 weeks ago with a little two piece E9. The flavor is really nice when all is working well. But I'm constantly charging the batteries so I bought a passthru for it. Works great on the computer. I bought a usb charger for my truck, but the PT doesn't work on it. Do I need to have a special hook up? I know the charger works for charging batteries.

Oh and I just wanted to add that I love this forum. I have learned so much! (Got an ego-T a couple of days ago and love the amount of vapor and the batteries last and last but I get no flavor, so I go back to my little E9 for the taste.)

This is all very good to know. I have a lot to learn. This has all been quite a learning experience for me. Sometimes fun and some times very frustrating. Didn't even know what an e-cig was 17 days ago. But after 40 years of smoking over 2 packs a day I knew I had to do something. Have spent a lot of money on all this since starting but I haven't smoked and don't need or want to. This has worked wonderfully for me.

Yeah, that's kinda where I'm leaning too. It may have to do with the amperage rating of the source. Which explains why some passthrough mfg's insist you connect to a powered USB hub as opposed to a regular computer port. You don't happen to have a multimeter that measures amperage do you?

This is good discussion...I was on the verge of getting a car>USB adapter and now know that I'll have to do some digging first.

There's quite a difference between charging and using a passthru. Charging is a relatively slow process at low current (low mA). Vaping through a USB passthru requires much more instantaneous current. I suggest a 2000 mA (2000 miliamp/2 amp) adaptor for vaping through a USB to car lighter adaptor. Lesser capacity should be fine for many charging situations.

Yes, v4life has the 2000mA usb car charger for like $10.00. Have to have one. Wonder if I could pick up one like that at Walmart?

Don't know about Wally world, but Best Buy has one that works great. It also has a second regular usb port on it that I plug my Evo into so it stays charged up all day.

From my EVO to your eyeballs!
