Wanting to be safe is not naive. Trusting the FDA to provide that safety IS naive. I have no issue with people wanting the products they consume to be safe. And to date, vaping supplies have been as safe if not safer than our food supplies like chicken and ground beef. Knowing what the FDA's real agenda is when it comes to vaping, I cannot see how any of us would want them to be the ones providing this so-called safety. There are other alternatives that would be better than the FDA.

Have you considered joining CASAA?

Yes, weeks ago.....

Yes, I did already.

What are some of the other alternatives that would give me the confidence as a consumer that a juice is indeed what a vendor claims? We have already nic labeled at 100mg test out to be 287mg. This was a highly regarded vendor by most in this community. If I had mixed that up at my normal 36mg/l ratio I would have actually been vaping 103mg/l. I dont know how much it takes to make you sick, but 100+mg is pretty damn scary.

No, no government entity is perfect, but the vaping community has not established an independent certification either. Maybe if we had a laboratory equivalent of the Good Housekeeping seal my fears would be lessened, just stick to the vendors with the seal. But no such thing exists today.

I took things into my own hands and bought a Nic Titration kit and test incoming nic myself, this way I know I am safe. It would be really nice to be able to trust the labeling and not have to do that. But what percentage of vapers (especially noobs) actually test their own juice? I fear it is only a matter of time before someone actually does get sick and then the Feds will have an excuse to rain down all sorts laws on us.

Please dont get me wrong, I dont trust the FDA more than anybody else. However, I would indeed welcome regulations of some sort governing Lab practices, something that vendors could be held accountable to. If the FDA held their involvement to that level I would not complain a bit, but few of us think they will stop there. Therein lies the fly in the ointment.......

I suppose I've been 'hoarding' somewhat, but not on purpose. It's more that I'm new to and so 'infatuated' w. vaping, and I want to try everything and right now, and I've been abusing my debit card accordingly. I've certainly collected plenty of hardware already, and despite my rapidly declining bank balance, have more juice arriving daily (or so it seems).

Unlike some in this thread, I don't hate government by default - I'm one of them bleeding heart liberals and damn proud of it. I'm simultaneously what others would label a cynic (I say I'm just realistic) and think humanity's capacity for logic, decency, etc. is way over-rated. So I certainly don't trust government either, it being a human institution and all...

And yes, of course I've joined CASAA.

Join CASAA, its FREE and takes 1 minute. Strength is in numbers. CASAA will be our voice and legal representative for the FDA hearings. The more people listed as members that they represent the more the FDA will take notice.

Become a CASAA Member

Support CASAA financially if you can. CASAA is a volunteer group. They have expenses to pay just to represent us which come from donations and their own pocket. Anything can help.

Ignorance and apathy will be our undoing. Knowledge and action will be our saving grace.

Bad...your experience and willingness to share it has been instrumental to my vaping path. Thank you. I didn't follow your advice from the start and paid with money and time and learned a lesson. So now with this issue, I will listen to you and have already joined CASAA....some like me are hardheaded and take some time to listen.

Equipment perhaps, but I definitely would not get my juice from China.

Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2

Eliquid was invented and first produced in China. Approximately 90% of all eliquid used worldwide is from China. It's probable that some of the better controlled eliquid manufacturing processes are IN China. Many of us have vaped Chinese eliquid for years with no issue.

Joined CASAA last night Bad, it only took a couple hundred of your well placed reminders to get me off my ....!
Since opening my own mind and eyes to the rapidly changing status of e-cigarettes' legal status world-wide during just the last couple of weeks, I have become quite alarmed for their future.

As I have already stated, but for the benefit of those who have not bothered to ready throughout this large thread, e-cigarette use is being threatened world wide. They are illegal in several countries already, and more and more countries are threatening to do the same. E-liquids with nicotine are already illegal in Canada. E-cigarettes are illegal in many counties in the USA, with more and more threatening to do the same. The upcoming FDA rulings will have a MAJOR influence on how the rest of the country, and the world, will handle e-cigarette useage.

I do not wish to be associated with using an illegal device. There are many groups looking out for their own self interests concerning the upcoming FDA innitiative. We have but one voice looking out for our own, and that is CASAA. Please take a moment of your time and become a member. Strength of an organization is perceived by others by the numbers of their membership. Joining this organization can help make their voice stronger. The link to join is in my signature below.

Ignorance and apathy of this important matter could be the end of vaping as we know it today. What happens in the US can have a rolling stone effect for the rest of the world. I continue to urge any vapor who has not yet joined CASAA, to do so now. And if you can, any donation, however big or small, can make them even stronger to help our cause.

With every member on ECF having an interest in e-cigarettes, there is NO excuse why every one of you should not already be a member.

I hope that those who are contemplating stockpiling nic liquid at this time do not. Nic liquid stock is at an all time low, much of which is due to the the fear of what the FDA will do. Now I'm not being naive or implying that nothing is going to happen, but it won't happen tomorrow! There will be a lot of hearings and rebuttals, all of which will take time before a ruling is made.

Many DIY people are suffering from low nic supplies because some people are shoving a liter or more of nic in their freezers now. Be fair to everyone and try not to hoard prematurely.

Let us not be the ones who push prices up due to the shortage. Let levels get back to where they were and above all, be conscientious to your fellow vaper. We are all in this together!

Most of all, try to support CASAA or at least write to your local and state representatives to let your feelings be known. The more noise that we make, and in unison, can make an impact.

I'm bumping to keep this on the first page.

If you have come to this forum because you have quit smoking cigarettes or plan to quit smoking cigarettes or know someone who is or love someone who needs to - please join CASAA! Everyone should have access to less harmful alternatives to tobacco.
